It's a Beautiful Day

Gabby smiled a slightly cheeky grin when he asked. "Right now." She winked as she did her little victory dance. "I did it! I did it! Who did it? I did it!" She squealed as she danced in the scrub room. Leaning up to him, Gabby quickly kissed him. "Thank you honey." She said as she pulled him into her victory dance.

Mark looked at her sighed for a moment, then started to chuckle a little. He could never stay made at her. "Gosh, I love you." He said, shaking his head. He slowly wrapped an arm around her waist as they kept walking down the hall. "Honestly I didn't think you seriously laughed when I heard you. But then when I realized that you actually did, I was more floored than anything." He kissed the top of her head.

Derek chuckled watching his fiance dance. Derek took and shook his head lightly, "I love you so freaking much." He pulled her close kissing her lips deeply. "You're very welcome, I loved watching you work the way you did." Derek smiled at her.

Emily looked at him and smiled lightly. She leaned into Mark as they walked towards the operating room. She kept close to him and heard him talking as she got consumed in her own thoughts.

Gabby laughed a little and kissed him softly back. "That just puts a big smile on my face." She said as she smiled at him. Once they were both scrubbed out, Gabby had walked to the venting machine to grab something to drink. As they walked down the hall, she looked to Derek. "I am just on a surgical high right now." She laughed lightly. "I see why you love doing what you do." She laughed.

Mark held onto her as they walked with a grin. He was truly happy to have Emily and now what the news that she was pregnant, just made him even happier. He had been talking about their surgical plans today, when he realized that she wasn't really listening. Deciding to see if she was okay, Mark stopped walking and just looked down at her. "Are you okay?" He asked. "What are you thinking about? He asked.

"It does give you that." Derek laughed smiling at his fiancee. "I am glad you enjoyed your first solo." Derek smiled at Gabby leaning over kissing her lips. He got him a water and drank on it. "So who's next on this beautiful day of saving lives?" Derek asked Gabby.

Emily looked up at him, "Oh." Emily whispered staring at him. "I didn't mean to go out on you." She frowned. "I was thinking about being a mom, and a doctor." Emily laughed lightly. "Silly huh?" She smiled at her boyfriend as she took and bit her lip. "I am excited, but I am so nervous about it too Mark." She admitted.

Looking over the list of patients, Gabby smiled. "Mr. Walker Johnson." She said as she kissed him quickly on the lips. She started heading with him to the patient's room. "This is is the older man that you were a little concerned about. So you are doing this surgery, and I will be there to assist." She reassured him.

"It's okay, and no I don't think that's silly at all." He said softly. He then kissed her, to help ease her nerves. "Hey honey, it's going to be okay. you are going to be a kickass mom." He grinned as he rubbed her back. "You'll be a great mom and a fantastic doctor...at the same time." He grinned.

Derek nodded his head, "Alright, baby." Derek took and smiled at her as he took and walked in. "Mr. Johnson any concerns or anything?" Derek questioned him. Seeing the elderly man shake his head, Derek smiled as he took and went over the surgery again. Once he was finished he walked out going to prepare for the surgery.

Emily looked at Mark and smiled, "Thank you for saying that." Emily whispered kissing his lips. "We better go get ready for Mr. Roberts surgery." She smirked a little seeing Mark laughing. She giggled shaking her head and smiling at him as she walked with him to the operating room.

When everything was set, Gabby followed Derek once more to get ready for surgery. She looked to him and kissed him softly on the lips. "You've got this." She said softly. "I have full faith in you." She spoke softly. She stepped back into the scrub room getting ready for the surgery.

Mark nodded, and smiled. "You're welcome." He kissed her softly on the lips. When they went to get ready for the patient's surgery, Mark couldn't;dn't help but looked over her. "This is going to be wonderful." He said, grinning with a wink. "You ready for this?"

Derek began getting ready. Sighing he took and walked into the OR letting the scrub nurse put his mask on and gloves. He walked over looking at his team, "Alright guys. Beautiful day to save lives." Derek smiled as he took and began working on the man to make sure he had another fifty years of life to live with his family.

Emily looked at him smiling, "I suppose so." Emily told him walking to the OR scrub room. She took and scrubbed in as she looked at her boyfriend smiling. She took and let the scrub nurse help her get into everything as she walked with Mark to the man's lower half as she took and bit on her lip.

Gabby stayed quiet, watching as Derek intently worked to help this older man. "You're doing an amazing job, Dr. Shepherd." She spoke softly as she handed him a tool. The success that they were having with the surgeries today, put a smile on her face. Watching Derek as he finished up with this surgery, she just watched him.

Mark smiled, nodding once more before beginning the surgery. When Mark and Emily started seeing each other and they would have surgeries to do together, it took all he could not to get distracted. However, now it was like second nature with her in the room. A matter of fact, Mark liked to think that Emily was his good luck charm.

Once he was finished, Derek smiled as he laid the tools down and sighed in relief. "Mr. Johnson is going to live to see another fifty plus years. Thank you all for all the help." Derek smiled at them as he took and walked out slipping out of everything and washing his hands off and sanitizing them. "You were amazing helping me honey." Derek smiled.

Emily took and watched Mark begin the surgery as she'd hand him the tools as he needed. She watched carefully as she felt her stomach churn. She took and bit her lip trying to hold it all back. She watched her boyfriend doing what he did best, fixing people to like themselves better.

Gabby smiled at her fiance, following him out and washing her hands. "You're welcome. I didn't do much, just watched you." She spoke as she washed her hands and then sanitized them. As they started to move out of the scrub room, Gabby walked with him down the hall. "So how many more surgeries do we have?" She asked softly.

Mark went straight into the surgery. Today was a complete success as he went about the surgery. Watching Emily occasionally, Mark nodded that she looked a little pale. He wasn't going to make a big deal about it, but he wanted to make sure she knew that if she needed to leave the room, that it was okay. "Dr. Stone, are you okay? Because if you have to leave the room, that's okay." He said with a reassuring voice.

Derek looked at Gabby smiling as he walked out with her. “I don’t think I have another till later.” Derek admitted going to the surgical board and seeing he was in fact correct. “Do you want to go grab some lunch before the next round hits?” Derek asked his fiancée and smiled at her. “Maybe we can talk some wedding things? Like figuring a date.” Derek smiled sliding his arm around her waist.

Emily felt the churn, and the queasiness hitting. “I have to.” She whispered seeing her boyfriend nod his head and another person stepping into her spot. She rushed out taking her gear off quickly and finding the first trash can. She emptied her stomach as she held to it sighing heavily. “Shit.” She whispered standing upright and wiping her mouth. She knew this was going to get worse before it got better. She hoped that the OB doctor could give her something to settle this.

Hearing the idea of discussing Wedding Plans lit up Gabby's face. She still couldn't believe that this man proposed her and that they were really getting married. Leaning further into him as he wrapped his arm around her waist, she nodded. "I would love to go to lunch with you and talk about some wedding things." She said with a cheerful voice as she walked to the locker rooms. "Let me just go change real quick and then we can go." She said, knowing that he had to change as well.

Mark finished up the surgery and then let the doctor next to him to finish. Walking into the scrub room, he washed and sanitized his hands before walking out of the room. Looking around, he wanted to go find Emily and make sure that she was okay. When he found her, he couldn't help but frown a little. "oh honey." He said softly, moving a little closer to her. He put hand on her back and just rubbed. "What can I do? Do you want to go the doctor?" He asked softly, hoping she would say yes.

"Ok." Derek smiled at her as he went to change. He took and walked out waiting on Gabby. He felt like he was truly the most luckiest man on earth. He truly was. Derek pushed his hands into his pockets as he smiled. He couldn't wait to set a date and marry this girl.

Emily looked back at Mark nodding her head, "Yes, I do." She whispered softly. "I was supposed to have a point in a few minutes." Emily told him walking towards the OBGYN floor to see the doctor. She needed somethign to ease this and she felt so bad right now, she was tired and sick.

Gabby smiled as she quickly went off to go get changed. Walking out of the resident's area, Gabby walked back over to Derek, quickly giving him a peck on the lips. "Lets go." She said with a small smile. She was really excited about their little lunch today, especially since they would be starting to go over wedding plans. As she walked out of the hospital with Derek, Gabby reached for his hand. "You know, I have been dreaming about this day forever." She admitted with a sweet smile on her face.

Mark frowned a little more; it truly killed him to see her like this. Looking at his phone to make sure that they were still good on time with the next surgery or if he needed to call someone in to fill his shoes, Mark quickly followed behind Emily to the OBGYN. Walking with her to the elevator, then getting in to take the floor to the Maternity Wing, he gently placed a hand on her back, rubbing the lower part of her back. "Honey...I'm sorry that you're so sick." He mumbled, kissing the side of her head.

((Sorry for the late responses. My son had surgery this past week and it's been hectic with him being so sick, and my daughter being sick as well. I do apologize.))

Derek smiled at her, "You have, huh?" Derek smiled at her. "So have I baby." He admitted holding onto her hand. "I am truly thankful that you are mine. I promise to give you, all of me till the end of my time." Derek smiled kissing her hand lightly.

Emily glanced up at him giving him a light smile, "It's part of pregnancy." Emily assured Mark leaning into him. She was already so tired right now. She took and saw the doors open as they walked to the OBGYN and signed in waiting to be called back.

Gabbys miled, kissing him softly on the lips. "I can't think of anyone else in this entire world that I would rather have as my soon-to-be husband than you, Derek Shepherd." She spoke softly against his lips. "So, what do you want wedding wise?" She asked. "This is your wedding, just as much as it is mine."

Mark nodded, "I know." He said softly. "I just feel bad, because I know there isn't much that I can do." He sighed softly with a sweet smile, kissing her cheek. He watched her as she signed in, and then sat down with her.

Derek looked at her and shrugged, "You know. As long as I am marrying you, that's all that matters." Derek admitted holding her hand and smiling at her. "I don't want anything fancy. Just you and me saying I do and becoming man and wife." Derek smiled.

Emily smiled as she leaned into him, "You're just too sweet, Mark Sloan." She whispered into his side and sighed a little bit. She felt the wave hit and fought it back. She took and heard her name being called and got up walking with Mark.

Once the appointment was over she was relieved to have a nausea pill so she could get some ease. She smiled leaning into Mark, "So ten weeks into this." She smiled up at him. "I hope these pills work like the Dr said so." She smiled.

Gabby nodded, "I think I can make that happen." She said with a small smile. she was really looking forward to this. "So we want a small wedding." She said, making a couple of mental notes to herself. "What do you think about that?"

Mark stayed quiet the entire time as the doctor spoke with Emily. He wanted nothing more than to make sure that she was absolutely okay. "Yeah, ten weeks." He smirked, rubbing Emily's back and kissed her softly on the lips. "I'm sure they will." He reassured her.
