Nadia stood behind the register, working on her math homework as the door rang. “Hello, welcome to the Hardware Store,” She said, looking up to see if they needed any help, but usually they didn’t until they were ready to check out.

Alex sighed as she climbed out of the car, her body still ached from the car accident and she wanted nothing more than to be home in her own bed. Though, she felt as if she couldn't even bring herself to miss her parents who were never around there was a lurking sadness in her chest knowing they had both died. Paul needed to work on fixing up his house a little, he lived in the small house behind his mother's - since she was a nurse in forks he rarely ever saw her so he tried to keep the house in tip top shape whenever she handed him a list. When he looked at the girl behind the desk he furrowed his brow and it was like a bloom if light in his vision; "w.." he forgot what he was going t osay till he looked down at the list, "where do you keep the tiles and silicone?" he asked.

She smiled a little and pointed behind him. “Aisle four, and six. We also got new tiles shipped in this morning if none of those fit what you were looking for.” She added, waiting a second and then looking back down at her homework.

“Nonsense, Alex,” He said gruffly, not good with this sort of things. “You’re family, and you would have done the same for us. Let’s get your things upstairs and settled in. Then we can stop by at Billy’s to see if he can get you a car.”

She nodded a little as she grabbed one of her bags then wet her lips, "I'm sure the attic space will be plenty enough for me," she said t him as she looked around the house, "I haven't been here in years, last time mom brought me here I was what...seven?"

He nodded a little his eyes boring down into her from his spot before he shook his head and walked to aisle four - this couldn't be happening... he didn't like the idea of imprinting buth e knew it happened a lot more often now.

She felt a little strange and waited until he left before going back to work, and answering another problem. She sat down on the stool behind the counter and sighed, checking her phone to see when she’s be able to clock out.

“About that yeag, and you’ve grown so much since then. Well I’ll give you a second to get ready and just give a holler and we’ll head down to the reservation, how’s that sound?” He asked her

She nodded a little and smiled, "Sounds good, I'll just get some things unpacked and change my shoes... it's been raining and last I remembered its pretty muddy on the reservation," she said to him lightly.

He walked back with a box of tiles and several tubes of silicone and set it on the counter, 'I've never seen you around here before, you just move here?" he asked.

She smiled a little. “Just moved with my brother, but we live in Forks,” She said, ringing everything up. “Anything else I can help you with today?”

He smiled a little. “Boots if you have them, if not I’m sure we can get you some for rainy days,”

She nodded as she opened one of her suitcases that had just about nothing but shoes in it then pulled out some knee high flat boots that would wash off easily, 'these should work," she said as she took off her sneakers then ulled on the boots. she traded her jacket for something lighter and looked at him, her body ached , the car accident left her with a broken arm but that was it - otherwise it was a few pulled muscles. 'I'm ready,"

He nodded a little, "Hm, there is a bon fire tomorrow - you should come and bring your brother too - its on the beach on the reservation," he said to her as he shook his head pulling out the cash for it.

She smiled a little and shrugged. “Maybe, I work tomorrow so it depends.” She said, ringing him up and bagging everything. “But thanks, I’ll think about it.”
Charlie climbed into his police cruiser and waited for her before making the drive down to La Push. He had called ahead to it didn’t surprise him when he pulled up and Billy wheeled himself out of the house.

She climbed into the passenger seat then chewed on her bottom lip as she buckled up, "My parents left me their money, so if you need anything... I don't mind if you use some of it. I know you were left in control of it till I turned twenty," she said to him gently. "I'm okay though, I have everything I need for now, I just don't want you to spend your own money on a car for me," the thought of getting behind the wheel of a car terrified her; she kept reliving the accident over and over.

"It starts at sun down, dress warm," he said to her smiling a little as he looked at her, "My name is Paul, by the way," he offer his hand for her to shake.

She smiled a little. “Nadia,” She said, shaking his hand and handing him his bag. “So maybe I’ll see you tomorrow, thanks for inviting me,” She said.

Billy smiled a little. “Why don’t you head back to the garage, Jacobs back there with Bella he has more information on your car, you don’t need to stay with old men.”

“Speak for yourself,” Charlie laughed a little.

He nodded a little, "Hope to see you there," he said flashing her a small smile then wet his lips before walking out of the shop.

Alex smiled a little and nodded as she adjusted her sling that her arm was in then began to walk around the back towards the big red garage she could see already. It'd been a while since she'd seen Bella but she'd spoken to her through e-mail a few times, "bella!" she said upon seeing her leaned against a truck. "Jeez you haven't changed at all," she smiled weakly.

Jacob had bent down to work on tightening the screw under the hood when he heard a voice and stood up straight. He couldn’t explain what had happened but suddenly he couldn’t see anything else except for her. “Um hi... you must be Alex,” He said smiling weakly at her.

She looked at him and nodded, "Thats me," she said as she walked over hugging her cousin, "ow ow ow," she whined, "Gently, I'm bruised," a small pout lined her lips as she looked at her. "And you must be Jake, Bella told me all about you... thank you for.. being there for her," she said to him.

"He's great he's finishing up basic stuff on the truck so it's okay to be driven again," Bella said to her as she looked between the two of them, for some reason Alex couldn't take her eyes off him.

He smiled at her and gestured around the corner. “Uh right actually your car is right outside, I just finished it this morning, want to see it?” He asked her, unable to look away. He knew what had happened, she was glowing and everything around her was suddenly dim. He forgot Bella was even there, because at that moment she no longer mattered.

She nodded, "Yeah Id love to actually, don't know how much I'll be driving it till this thing comes off but it'll be good to have when it does," Alex said as she walked closer - he was so tall - he towered over her so much she had to litterally look up to see his face.

He smiled a little and lead her out around to the car parked just beside it. “Rebuilt the engine and just finished today, it’s ready for a test drive if you want... but if you don’t like it, I can fix it just name it.” He said to her, hoping she liked it.

Nadia sat on the floor of one of the aisles, organizing everything on the bottom shelves so she wouldn’t have to do it later. She preferred to do the harder stuff while the store was empty. She heard the door bell ring and stood, once again repeating the greeting before seeing who it was. “Oh, hi. Forget something?”

She looked at him, "Sure I'm ready to test it out - its an automatic though right? " she asked as she looked at him then back at Bella who was walking over Alex adjusted her sling and took her arm out "Alright, I'm ready,"

He nodded,"Yeah painters tape and some dry wall mud," he said as he rubbed his neck a little.

“Painters tape should be right in front of you and the drywall mud should be in the back we got a new shipment this morning,” Ahe said as she dusted herself off and walked into the storage room.

“Yeah why do you want manual?” He laughed a little bit was serious. “Easily fixer if you want it,” He added as he grabbed and handed the keys.
