She smiled a little. “I want to, it’s important she likes me,” She said, looking at him. “So I’ll make dessert, and then we’ll go over to hers?” She asked as she got out of the car and grabbed her backpack. She liked Paul’s house, it wasn’t big but with the two of them it was fine. “What kind of cake does she like?”

He smiled a little. “Well, I’d like for you to stay near but I’d never tell you not to do what you want. So I would just get used to you being away as long as I could come by on weekends or something.”

He smiled a little as he watched her, he was happy she wanted to impress his mom though with everything he'd told his mom already she was bound to love her no matter what. "She likes anything chocolate and vanilla mixed,"

She nodded, "Maybe I'll just do online courses," she said to him lightly as she thought abot it then nodded, "It'll work out how it's supposed to - don't worrym,"

She waited for him to walkwifh her, going in and setting her bag onto the chair. She went into the kitchen and began pulling out ingredients, looking around for a pan. “You don’t have any chocolate,” She whined, noting he had everything else. “I need you to get me some chocolate,” She turned to him and putting her hands on his shoulders. She turned him back toward the door and smiled a little. “Find some cocoa powder and come back,”

He nodded a little. The thought of being away from her worried him a bit. Just waking away felt and almost physical pain and he didn’t want to feel it again in comparison to how happy he was when he saw her. But he wanted to be the first person to encourage her to go to school. He’d do okay regardless, he just wanted her happy.

He looked at her then laughed a little,"Okay okay," he said to her as he grabbed his keys then wet his lips, "Chocolate - check if you need anything else first," he said to her.

Alex smiled a little as she looked at him, "We'll be okay Jake, I won't ever go more than two days without seeing you," she said to him ,You don't have to worry about that,"

“Confection sugar, vanilla,” She said, squatting down. “And flour, Paul, you need to have more of this stuff now,” She whined, looking in the lower level of the pantry. She sighed a little, turning to him. “And a cake pan, you do have one of those right?”

He nodded a little. “I know, it’ll be okay,” He said, smiling a little. “I’m not worried,” He said, leaning against the shelves and sighing. “I want some chips,” He mumbled, looking around for the chip aisle.

"I think so," he said with a sheepish smile. He idnd't cook much - in fact most of the time he was at Sam's for dinner and breakfast so he never thought anything of it. His mom normally cooked dinner if she was home or hed order take out.

She nodded a little, "Grab some, and some salsa too," she told him as she smiled little, she grabbed some chocolate chip cookies and made sure to grab the minced garlice.

She pouted a little, looking under the cabinet and sighing when she saw none. “What am I gonna do with you?” She said, grabbing her cellphone. “Come on, well go together. And later me and you are going shopping,” She said, taking her wallet out too.

He smiled widely and grabbed a bag of tortillas and another of Doritos and smiled a little. “Me and my dad haven’t eaten this well in ages.”

She smiled a little and laughed, "Well get used to it, I love cooking so you'll get to eat well," she said to him as she added some more items to the cart.

He laughed a little, 'Okay, lets go," he said to her as he pushed a hand through his hair,, "I don't bake ...ever so, I wouldn't know about any of this stuff.

She smiled a little. “Well I can bake, and if you have ingredients I can make stuff there, but you need basics first,” She teased as she got in his car and reached for his hand. She was kind of cold but she wanted to hold it, she liked being near him.

He smiled a little. “Maybe you can teach me and we can try to make something together,” He offered as they continued around the store.

She nodded, "Sure, I can," she said to him smiling a little as she walked over to him and wrapped her arms around him burying her face into the black t shirt.

He smiled a little, "Fine, fine," he said as he wet his lips a little, "So what all do we need?" he asked as he held her hand.

“We need vanilla, cocoa powder, flour, confection sugar, and a cake pan,” She said as they drove to the market. She pulled his hand so she could look at it size in comparison to her own. “Your hands are huge, and so warm. Just your hand is like a space heater.”

He smiled a little and held her, feeling his heart swell. He was so happy she was at least starting to like him. He loved her, there was nothing he could do about it, but he knew the second she loved him back he’d feel on top of the world.

Alex had never felt more comfortable than with Jake, sure she'd dated a bit but nothing that was ever meant to last. With him he made her feel like no one else had before, he was considerate to her feelings - part of her worried he was upset with the decision fate had so easily made for him. "If you want anything else, just let me know - I've got the money," and she wasn't lying. When she lived in seattle she'd often tutor people in many classes, she'd earn money per hour and had raked in quite the savings just by doing that.

Even though her parent's assured her that she didn't need to do that, she rather make her own money if she could. Thats why she was going to start tutoring in Forks the second she was able to - to pay Charlie back.

He smiled a little, "Any time you need them just give me a call," he said to her, "I don't mind," he murmured as he ced his fingers through her own.

She smiled a little and held his hand, leaning against the seat as he drove. She was going to be really happy with him, she could already see it. “After dinner, do you want to come over? Just to hang out?” She asked him as she patted his arm. They got to the store and she climbed out, walking back over and wrapping her arm around him.

He shook his head. “I can afford it, don’t worry,” He smiled a little as they got to the check out. “You’re cooking I can buy, not a problem.” He said, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.

She smiled a little as she began to organize the items on the belt before sighing, "If you say so, but know I do have money," she told him lightly as she looked at him.

He looked at her the nnodded,"sure sounds good," he said to her, "We can watch a movie or something,"

She smiled a little. “Yeah, I’ve got a tv in my room.” She said, going in and looking around the store for what they needed. She walked down an aisle picking out the things she needed for the cake. “Do you have any favorite movies?”

He smiled a little. “I’ve got a bit, I don’t mind,” He said as they checked out and he paid. “Let’s go, then I can call my dad and tell him to come by.”
