Finding Unexpected Love

Christian smiled, "thanks Gabby," he said softy. He continued to eat his food slowly, "of course, take your time," he said lightly. He sat back, and looked out the window.

Christian was intrigued to know what the Lawyer wanted to tell him, it sounded important.

When she finished her breakfast, Gabby went to the sink. She cleaned up the dishes, loading up the dishwasher.

Once she was done, Gabby turned around to look at him. She didn't say anything as she admired him for a moment, biting her bottom lip. She didn't know what was wrong with her as she looked over him.

Christian watched her and smiled. When he finished he went a cleaned up his own plate. He noticed her watching him and smiled weakly. "I thought you were going to go change Gabby," he reminded her.

He made his way to the sink and got another drink of water.

"Oh...yeah..." Gabby blushed. She then looked up at the clock then looked to him. "Give me like 30 minutes..." She said shyly as she rushed upstairs to get changed. She took her blonde hair, putting it up in a nice, messy bun applied some nature looking make up, then changed into a pink shirt with black yoga pants with white tennis shoes. When she was fully ready, she came back down looking to Christian.

Christian smiled and nodded, "of course," he said. He watched her leave, then found his way to the lounge and sat down. He began thinking of his old friend, it had been years since they'd spoken, but it was hard to know that he was now gone for good.

He looked up when she came in, noticing her toned legs through the yoga pants. He blushed softly, "All set?" he asked softly.

"Yep!" She said with a bright smile as she grabbed her ID lanyard with her things in it. She walked over to Christian, looking at him. She could sense something was up, but didn't want to push too far with feelings and emotions.

She started to head out of the house, looking at him. She went quiet again as she started to think about her dad.

Christian nodded, and followed her out of the house. He smiled softly, 'your father was a good man, I'll miss him," he said softly. He began walking with her slowly.

He was glad she'd asked him to stick around for awhile, knowing that if he wasn't here with her; he'd be at home drinking alone.

As they slowly walked Gabby looked to Christian, hearing his words. "You're right. My dad was a good man, and I will miss him. But I know the everything will be okay. He's looking down on me, smiling."

She was really glad that Christian agreed to stay.

Christian smiled and nodded, "well I sure hope things are all going to be fine," he said softly. He tugged at his shirt gently, continuing to walk along. "And I'm sure he's super proud of you, and how your handling this," he said.

He looked across at her, noticing just how attractive she was, his friend sure had raised a beautiful woman. He blushed softly, feeling guilty for his feelings slightly.

Gabby smiled, blinking away the tears. "Thanks Christian." She whispered softly. As she walked with him, she glanced over to him, admiring him for a moment.

She looked away as she realized that she was attracted to her late father's friend. What was she thinking?

Christian nodded, leading her down towards the waterfront slowly. He was glad she'd decided to join him for a walk, it got her out of the house.

He sighed softly, looking her over again. It had been years since Christian had been with a woman, or even met one. He smiled softly, "So what have you been doing with your spare time?" he asked.

Looking around at the beautiful outside, she was quiet for a moment as she took in the scenery.

"Well I love to do photography." She said. "I love reading, knitting, cooking." She started listing things she liked. "I even like to do outdoor things like camping and hiking." She looked to him and smiled. "What about you?"

Christian listened to her as he walked slowly. He smiled as she listed off similar things to his interests. He turned to look at her, "well, I'm not sure if your father let you know, but I've been living off the grid," he said. He looked at her, "so camping, hiking, hunting and the like, is pretty much 100% of my day to day," he said.

Gabby turned to him, "He mentioned it a time or two." She spoke softly as she listened to him talk about his interests "Well it sounds like we have some good things in common." She said without thinking. She then blushed, looking down at the ground as she walked.

Christian nodded, "yeah it sounds like it," he admitted. He led her along the beach slowly, "the worst thing is there isn't much variety in scenery up there, just forest, and more forest," he said. He slowed up coming to a stop.

Gabby nodded as she walked along the beach. "I just love this." She whispered as she admired the beauty before them. She closed her eyes as memories flooded her brain. She bite her lip as she closed her eyes, trying to hold back the tears.

"You are strong." She mumbled tearfully to herself as she wiped away the tears. "You have strong." She repeated. She took a deep breath in then out. "I am Strong. I am Powerful. I am Beautiful."

Christian nodded, and looked out at the scenery, "Yeah it is nice," he said softly. He took her hand gently, hearing her mumbling quietly.

"Yes you are, Gabby," he said. He pulled her into a light hug, "It's okay to miss him, it's okay to cry," he said softly.

Gabby blushed a little as he pulled her into a light hug. She held back the tears for a moment, then cried a little. "I just don't want to cry all the time." She spoke softly as she played a hand on his chest and she buried her face into his chest.

Christian nodded holding her tighter, 'I know, but it's okay to cry, don't feel like it makes you weak to cry," he said softly. He kissed her head gently, holding her, "what do you need Gabby," he asked softly.

"I don't know anymore..." Gabby whispered as she stayed holding onto him. She kept her head buried into his chest as she cried. She really didn't know what she needed anymore. "I just want all of this to go away."
