My Demons. [closed]

Mitch nodded lightly. He stood up and made his way to the bed. He lay down beside her, and curled up. He kept some distance between them, not wanting to overstep. He got comfortable any lay in silence, letting her read. It reminded him a lot of Kathy who also used to read in bed.

Abby stayed quiet as they laid there. She normally hated to lay in silence with someone, but with Mitch it felt normal. She finished her chapter in her book, then put her book mark in it, laying the book on the nightstand. She turned the lamp off, "Goodnight Mitch." She said. She pulled the blankets close to her, feeling his body slightly touching hers. She smiled to herself as she closed her eyes, falling asleep easily.

[We could have him have a nightmare and she would have to take care of him if you want?]

Mitch drifted into a disturbed slumber easily once the light was out. He began moving about in his sleep around 1am in the morning. He was clearly having another nightmare, 'They know, Lily get out,' he mumbled, he continued to toss and turn, his body glistening with sweat.

Abby woke up when she felt Mitch's arm hit her. Abby sat up looking at him, "Mitch." She said, touching his arm. She reached over turning the lamp on. She didnt want to wake him in pitch darkness. She shook him lightly, "Mitch wake up." She said, seeing him jerk awake. She scooted away slightly, "It was a dream." She said, seeinf his eyes meet hers. "Who's Lily?" She asked.

Mitch jerked awake, and scanned the room. His heart racing, he looked up and saw Abby, and relaxed. He sighed lying back, "You met Lily, she does overwatch for my team," he said softly. He'd been having a nightmare that he had to standby and watch her get killed, it's one he'd had many times, with various members of his team. He looked up at her, "sorry," he said lightly.

Abby nodded, "It's okay." She said as she rested her hand on his cheek. "Are you okay?" She asked. Abby bit her bottom lip lightly as she slowly pulled her hand away. "Do you wanna tell me about the dream?" She asked him. She laid on her side, facing him.

Mitch relaxed and finished calming down. He looked at her, and nodded lightly, "I'm fine now," he whispered. He rolled over to face her, "it was the same as all the others, I had to sit back and watch her die, I couldn't save her," he said.

Abby shook her head, "It was only a dream Mitcb." She said. She watched him before slowly laking his hand and lacing their fingers together. "It's okay." She said as she laid with him.

Mitch nodded silently, "I know, thank you for being here," he said softly. He laid with her, it felt nice holding her hand. He leant in and kissed her cheek softly.

Abby smiled as he kissed her cheek, "Why don't you try to get more sleep?" She whispered. She knew he was probably exhausted. She watched him get comfortable, then got comfortable again.

Mitch cuddled up with her and draped his arm over her midriff area. "I'll try," he said softly. He tried to get back to sleep slowly. It felt natural laying here with her.

Abby fell asleep with him, sleeping quietly. She woke up the next morning, feeling Mitch still asleep beside of her. She smiled to herself. She was glad that he was able to fall back to sleep. Abby looked at him, moving onto her back.

Mitch woke up shortly after her. He smiled, "morning," he said quietly. He shifted to a more comfortable position. He looked at her, "Thank you for getting me back to sleep last night," he said softly.

Abby nodded, "No problem. I guess it is better than you staying up all night." She said, shrugging. She looked over at him, "Do you feel better?" She asked him. She felt bad that he was having such bad nightmares. "Mitch, how long have you been having those nightmares?" She asked.

Mitch looked at her softly, "I've had trouble sleeping for awhile, Kathy used to help me sleep soundly, but the nightmares specifically started after I lost her," he explained quietly. He shifted again, he was desparate to hug her, feel her body against his, but he knew it wasn't appropriate.

Abby watched him, "Are they always the same or do they change?" She asked him. Abby bit her bottom lip lightly as she listened to him talk. She was comfortable just laying in bed and listening to what he had to say. Abby let her hand rest on his as he spoke.

Mitch shifted closer, "They're always similiar but not identical,' he told he. He moved and stood up, trying to put some distance between them. He thought that if he went to far, and hugged her or kissed her, which he wanted to do, she'd freak out, and never let him join her at night again, and he knew he didn't sleep well alone.

Abby watched as he got up, then sat up in the bed, "Are the other nightmares as bad?" She asked him. She noticed he was showing some signs of PTSD, but she didn't want to freak him out by saying something. She knew it would only get worse when he got home.

Mitch watched her closely, his eyes drawn to her loose fitting top as she sat up on the bed. "Not quite as bad, I'm usually closer, and can do more to help, so even though I still loose someone I had a chance to attempt to help," he discussed. He sat down in the seat, "It's not a good sign is it?" he asked her.

Abby looked at him before getting up and walked over to the other chair. "Honestly, You are showing signs of PTSD." She explained. "I can only assume it will get worse without treatment." She said. "Being home will make things harder for you as well." She told him.
