Mr. and Mrs. President

Jack kept his eyes closed and smiled towards his wife's voice. "Good morning, Mrs. First Lady." He whispered rubbing his eyes and yawning. He slowly opened them and smiled at his daughter grabbing her up and kissing her all over and smiling as he smiled at his wife. "There's my energy princess." He chuckled and smiled at his daughter.

Jackie smiled, watching the interaction between her husband and her daughter. It was truly beautiful and just brought such joy to her heart. As she laid there, she started sitting up in the bed. She sat up against the headboard, rubbing her rounded, swollen belly. The baby had started kicking, but it wasn’t anything had. “Ooh, good morning little one.” She whispered as she kept running a hand across her belly.

Caroline giggled as Jack kissed her all over. “Daddy!” She squeaked as she buried her face into her daddy’s arms. She then looked over to her mommy, seeing that her unborn baby sibling kicking. She looked up to her daddy, “Daddy the baby is up.”

Jack kept his arms around Caroline and smiled seeing Jackie rubbing her swollen belly. "It appears so." Jack smiled rubbing Jackie's belly. "Good morning little one." Jack smiled as he looked at his wife. "Are you ok, Jackie?" He asked making sure she was ok as he kissed Caroline's head smiling at his daughter then back to his wife.

Jackie nodded, “Yes.” She reassured her husband as she kept a hand on her belly. She then looked to Caroline. “Sweetie, why don’t go see if they need help in the kitchen getting breakfast ready for everyone.” She said as she watched their little girl nodded. “Alright Mommy. I’ll see you and Daddy in there.” She said and kissed her cheek. Caroline jumped off the bed, then rushed into the other room.

When Caroline left the room, Jackie smiled. “I love our little girl but she has so much energy in the morning some times.” She said as she stayed resting up against the headboard. The baby kept kicking, pretty hard, at that. It was a good thing, but she just couldn’t remember the last time the baby kicked some much. “Ooh.” She breathed as her hand moved across her belly once more.

Jack looked at Jackie in concern, "Are you ok?" He questioned another time. He couldn't help to worry about his wife. He placed his hand softly on her belly and stared at her a moment before kissing her lips lightly.

Jackie nodded, “Yeah, I think I’ll be okay.” She breathed as she relaxed. Kissing him softly on the lips, she pulled back to look at the time. “I don’t want to get up today.” She said as she sat up a little more. She kept that same hand on her belly. “Maybe we could go for a little walk later?” She asked.

"A walk would be nice." Jack smiled kissing her one more time. "I'm going to get a shower and go downstairs. You stay there and rest if you want, baby." Jack smiled before disappearing to shower. Once he did so he walked out and smiled at Jackie. "If you need anything ring that bell I gave you a few weeks ago." He smiled before disappearing downstairs.

Jackie looked to Jack when he walked out from the bathroom. “Of course darling.” She said as she kissed him once more before letting him go downstairs. Reaching over to the table on the bedside, Jackie picked up her book, starting to read the book.

When Jack walked downstairs, his younger brother Bobby was sitting at the table with his wife, Ethel and Jack’s daughter, Caroline. “Hey Jack. Where’s Jackie?” Bobby asked.

"Resting. She's more tired than usual today, so she wanted to lay in bed and rest." Jack smiled at Bobby as he picked his daughter up kissing her head before sitting down and letting his daughter sit in his lap.

Bobby nodded to his older brother, "Do you think she's going to have the baby soon?" He then asked a little concerned for his favorite sister-in-law. Caroline looked to her Uncle Bobby when he said something about her mommy having the baby soon. Her eyes went wide, then looked to her daddy for an answer.

Jackie kept laying in the bed, reading her book. She kept a hand on her belly as the baby continued to move and kick. She knew that at this point, anything could happen, and she was a little nervous considering everything that happened. As she laid there, she started to think about all the trouble that she and Jack had with starting a family. First, it was the miscarriage in 1955, then their baby, Arabella, being a stillborn in 1956, and finally Caroline coming in 1957, with very little complication. While laying there, she kept staring at the bell Jack gave her a few weeks back. Just thinking about all of this made her want her husband even more, but she wanted him to enjoy time with his family.

Jack shrugged, "I'm not sure honestly." Jack admitted to everyone. "The baby is more active today. When Caroline was born she was less active when Jackie went into labor." Jack smiled at his family and daughter. "I think we're ok for now." He admitted.

Jackie kept laying in the bed, still thinking about their family. As she laid there, she decided to ring the bell. She gently rung the bell, waiting to see if Jack would come up.

Jack smiled as he took and got up. He walked up the stairs and down the hallway to his bedroom he shared with Jackie. Jack smiled at his wife, "Is something wrong baby?" Jack asked walking in and looking at her.

Jackie looked when Jack walked into the room. A small smile appeared on her face. “I just wanted to spend more time with you.” She spoke as she wiped away her tears “I was just thinking about our past pregnancies.” She breathed as she rubbed her belly. “Jack, i am worried.” She said. She always got this way when it was close to the baby coming.

"Is it close?" Jack asked worried. "Are you ok? Do we need to go to the hospital or anything?" Jack began to panic and stared at his wife.

Jackie shook her head, grabbing her husband's hand. "No, that's not necessary." She said as she had a couple of tears trail down her cheeks. "I just nervous as I get closer to this baby's due date. I know the doctor said that everything is going good, but I worry. What about if something goes wrong during the labor and delivery?" She mumbled as tears slowly starting to flow down her cheeks more.

Jack took and looked at his wife and smiled. "It's going to be ok." He climbed into the bed with her. "Everything is going to be ok." Jack promised her.

Jackie leaned into Jack’s arms, knowing that he was right. She didn’t mean to freak out like this, but she couldn’t help it. With the struggles that they had in the beginning, Jackie was constantly worrying. Some times she wondered if the family was cursed somehow with all the tragedies that happened to them. A small smile managed to appear on her face as she looked to herself. “Thank you Jack.” She said softly before kissing him.
