Casey sidled up beside him, looking around. "Look over there.. there's a figure climbing the fence" she whispered, goosebumbs forming on her skin.

"Casey? Is that you?" A muffled voice came from outside. Casey glanced at Jonathan. "Did you hear that too?" She asked softly.

Jonathan was looking down his scope, at the figure. "It looks like Daniel," he said in a terse voice. Daniel had been one of the jocks, that had tormented Jonathan the most at high school. He lent over to whisper to her, "Tell him to stop," he whispered, "just in case.

Casey looked from Johnathan back out to daiel outside, her face contorted in indecision. "I.. he's my friend Jonathan.. I have to help him" she said softly and moved to the door. "I'll check him over before I let him in, okay?" She assured him and unlocked the door, grabbing a flashlight.

Jonathan sighed, but kept his gun trained on the jock. He shifted letting Casey get up and head outside. After they greeted each other, he stood up, and made his way to the door way.

Casey lead Daniel back toward the cabin slowly, nervous about when the two boys saw one another. "Man whatever is happening out there is fucked u-" Daniel fell quiet as he realised there was somebody else in the cabin. "He saved my life, be nice" Casey warned and walked inside.

Jonathan stepped out of the way, letting Daniel walk into the cabin. He was still wary of the man. "Want something to eat?" he asked Daniel, walking towards the cabinet. He still had his gun slung over his shoulder.

"not if you're preparing it" Daniel said snidely and Casey immediately shot him a dirty look. "Danny, we don't have time for shitty high School drama anymore.. you saw what happened to Hayley and Kyle over it, you eat now or you don't it's your choice" she snapped, and sat down on the bed looking between the two guys.

"Jesus Summers, when did you grow a pair" he teased, looking her body up and down.

Jonathan sighed softly placed some food down for Daniel. He moved over to the corner of the cabin, "I'll let you two catch up," he said. He sat down on the ground and absently started cleaning his rifle, having slipped his handgun in his pocket while he prepared some food.

Casey glanced over at Jonathan, feeling bad for him as she asked Daniel how he had found the cabin and all the rest.

"I've been hiding out in the estate out the back of town.. I thought I saw you go in to one of the houses a couple days ago and I followed you out here, I just got a little lost" he admitted with a shrug.

Jonathan dismantled his gun cleaning the parts. He kept quiet, watching over Daniel not trusting him completely.

Casey continued to glance over at Jonathan every now and again as she chatted to Daniel, who kept passing snide remarks at Jonathan that Casey kept trying to override.

"Wait hang on... Is that a hickey?" Danny asked standing up to look at her closer. "Case, don't tell me your hooking up with this loser" he taunted, pulling her close to him, as if saying she should lay him instead.

Jonathan was trying desperately to keep quiet and stay out of it. When Danny pulled her toward him, Jonathan shot up, handgun drawn but pointed at the ground. "Let her go," he said calmly. He looked at Casey, wanting to check she was okay.

Casey got a bit flustered, realising she was standing between a gun, her friend and her apocalyptic fuck buddy. "Jesus Jonathan don't shoot.. he didn't mean anything by that" she pleaded softly, although not entirely sure why she stood up for him.

Jonathan nodded slipping his gun away into his waist band. "Sorry, I guess I'm a little jumpy around the douche bag that tormented me everyday," he snapped. He moved towards the door to the cabin.

"Jonathan don't leave" she called out as he began to move out towards the door. She took a step closer to him, shaking g her head. "If you and I can get on, so can you and Danny I know it" she begged.

Jonathan turned back to look at Daniel for a moment, "Let me just check the perimeter," he said to Casey. He looked back at her, "get him to figure out if he wants someone competent with firearms to stick around to protect his stupid ass," he whispered to her. He moved out the door.

Casey sighed as he left shaking her head. A couple of minutes passed before she let our a shrill scream, hoping Jonathan would hear. She tried her best to fight Danny off, bit with tears in her eyes she was finding it hard. With his weight on top of her, she could manage to reach her pistol.

Jonathan was almost done his walk around the cabin. He heard her scream, racing backing into the cabin with his pistol drawn. He was aiming it directly at Daniel, "What the hell is happening?" he asked quickly not wanting to shoot first without figuring it out.

"shoot him!" She screamed trying her best to shove back as he attacked her. Casey heard the gunshot and waited until she felt his body go limp before scrambling away from it on the floor, her breathing too fast to control as tears streamed down her face.

Jonathan let out a light breath, squeezing the trigger. Daniel's body slumped to the ground, and Jonathan moved over towards her. "Are you alright?" he asked her concerned. He shot another bullet into Daniel's head, his focus still on her.
