Survival means compromise | Closed

Casey spent the day in town, gathering up a couple more things for them, including some more clean clothes. She tried her best Tobe careful moving around town, nor realltly wanting to be seen. After finding some batteries in a storeroom of the supermarket, she shoved as many as she could fit in to her backpack, and decided to stay there until it started getting dark. She didn't want anybody to see her heading back to the cabin.

Once the sun started to set, Casey began making her way back towards the cabin. She was about an hour in to her trek when she realised so etching wasn't right. "Shit.." she sighed to herself, looking around. From what she could make out she had taken a wrong turn. Things seemed vaguely familiar so she hoped she wasn't too wrong but she didn't know what the best part of call was now.

Jonathan continued to worry, but decided to just hope for the best and get on with things. He began working on improving the area. He began searching for some wood and stones, to begin work on the shower he'd thought about.

He knew he'd have to head to town for the right supplies, but figured he'd do that only when it was the last thing needed for the shower. As the night fell, he grew worried again, as Casey wasn't back, he decided he should go see if she'd hurt herself outside the fence line. He pulled on his gun, and grabbed a torch, before heading out.

Casey sighed gently, beginning to scale a tree. She hoped that from up her she would see the cabin, or at the very least, she would find a branch secure enough to rest on for the night until it was bright and she could find her way home.

Jonathan headed out from the cabin, with his torch. He kept it off, letting his eyes adjust to the low light of the night sky. He made his way towards the path to town, hoping that had been the way she went. He began calling her name quietly as he walked, listening carefully to the forest.

Casey stopped still, did she just see something moving in the distance? She climbed a little higher, letting the foliage conceal her as she tuck her gun out and had it poised and ready to fire if something dangerous came at her.

Jonathan kept searching in the dark, looking for any sign of her. He sighed softly, and flicked his torch on for a moment, "damn, Casey, where did you go?" he asked himself softly.

Casey saw a light flicker in the distance and swallowed hard. A light meant it probably wasn't a walker, but that didn't ease her fears much at all. "Fuck.." she mumbled under her breath wishing she had just come back earlier. She kept her gun poised, hugging as close to the tree trunk as possible.

Jonathan kept moving slowly, deciding that if he didn't find her soon, he'd just have to head back to the cabin. He moved off the usual path slightly, searching around the trees, "Casey," he called slightly louder, hoping maybe she'd hear him.

Casey squinted a little into the darkness trying to determine what direction the light may have moved in when she heard something.. was that her name? She stood for a minute listening before deciding to respond just incase. "Jonathan?" She called out, not leaving the gun drop in the chance she had just put herself in danger.

Jonathan kept searching around, he was just about to give up, when he heard a noise from above. He paused, and looked up, "Casey," he called louder, trying to pinpoint where she was. He flicked his torch on to search the trees above him, "What are you doing up there?" he asked.

Casey winced as she felt a light being short e on her, holding her hand up to shield her eyes. "Jonathan?" She asked softly, although she was beginning to be able to make out some of his features. "good I'm so glad to see you... I took a wrong turn on the way here, so I climbed up her to try and get a better view and figure out where I was going... Ifigured it would be safer up here too" she told him, beginning to climb back down.

Jonathan helped her down out of the tree. "Well, I'm glad I found you," he said relaxing a little. He looked her over, "Where'd you go?" he asked, picking up one of the bags she had.
He looked around the area, "come on the cabin is this way," he said softly.

Casey began to follow him back, watching the back of his head as they walked. "I headed in to town just to get some stuff... I wanted to go to where we buried Kyle too... And I uh- I just kind of wanted to do it alone" she told him honestly.

Jonathan nodded softly listening to her, "oh I get that, I truly do," he said softly. He kept moving slowly through the forest, "next time, would you tell me though, I had no idea where you'd gone," he said softly, "I was worried," he added.

Casey nodded gently, blushing softly. "I'm sorry, you looked tired, I didn't want to wake you up" she told him softly, running a hand through her hair. "I didn't mean to worry you Jonathan, I really didn't" she promised him, smiling as the cabin started to come in to view.

Jonathan nodded, "it's fine, you're safe, and found some supplies, so everything is fine," he said lightly. He helped her over the fence, as they made it to it. "I got some work done here, anyway," he said softly. He lead her into the cabin.

Casey nodded softly and followed him back to the cabin. She thanked him as they headed back to the cabin. "You work so hard around her, I thought you might take a rest today" she said to him with a small shrug.

Jonathan shrugged, "Yeah, I'll rest when I'm more sure it's safe here," he said lightly. He moved to the bed, and put his gun down, "well, you're back now, let me know before you go next time please," he said.
