Augustus nodded, "Some perspective might help, the last time I left, was to hunt down another vampire," he said lightly. He looked at her, "our family had been in the village for twenty years at that point, another vampire came into town and we didn't know," he said. He smiled softly, "we had been asked to keep out of village affairs, and that if they needed our skills they'd ask, and we obliged," he said. He moved around pacing, "so a stranger came to the village, a vampire, at first it was just one person that went missing, then after a week it was up to four," he said. The council at the time, came to see us after four years of keeping out of things, so we were intrigued," he said.
He moved over to her, "if they had of asked, it wouldn't of hurt as much, but they started by accusing us, not even considering the new stranger" he said. He swallowed loudly, "but it took us half a day to work it out, the new guy was a vampire, and instead of letting us deal with it, the council tried to catch him themselves," he said. He turned to her, "we know vampires, their nature, he would come back, and keep feeding off the village, so I volunteered to track him, he made it to Italy," he said. "I killed him, so he would leave the village alone," he said. "For slaying the creation of a general, in Italy, I knew it would mean years of service, a decade if I turned myself in, a century if they had to track me down," he said.
"Being a soldier for the vampires in Italy, it was torture for me, but to stop him, for the safety of my home, I tore him limb from limb, and ripped his head off with my bare hands," he said lightly. "It was the least horrific thing I would have to do in the next decade," he added
