Caroline fumbled over her words for a few minutes, trying her hardest to think of something to say. "Bú I-I thought I could... Please." she said looking him straight into the eye. "I'll do whatever you wed me to do, just let him stop. If he gets caught he goes to prison for life.. And you are down a man and at risk of exposure" she asked, trying to hide her knees shaking, she wished she wore flats.

Dominic chuckled, "You know how many guys are doing life in prison for this gang?" He asked. "Danny won't say a word because that puts his life in danger." He said. "Now is that a Yes you are going to do what I say or do I have to hurt Danny tonight. It only takes one phone call." He said.

"it's a yes" Cali said quickly, afraid of what he could do to Danny. She stood stato g at him silently for a few minutes before beginning to back away towards the door. What had she done, if anything she had gotten Danny even deeper in to it.

Dominic smiled, "Bye sunshine." He teased her, having spied on Danny the whole time. He chuckled at her expression then walked back to his office.

Caroline stopped in her tracks, a shiver running down her spine. Only Danny caked her sunshine, it didn't belong on that man's lips. She began to walk home, the entire world around her seeming a blue, nothing felt real. She made it back to her apartment building, taking a seat on the steps outside, her head in her hands. "Ms. Sinclair, are you okay? She heard the doorman ask, but it was as if it came from a different universe. Cali didn't know how long she sat there, but at some point she looked upward to find Danny standing over her.

Danny looked down at her, "What's wrong babe?" He asked as he knelt in front of her. "You look like you feel sick." He said as he put his hand to her forehead. He looked into her eyes, "Come on lets go inside. it's getting cold." He said, helping her up. He walked with her upstairs and walked inside.

Cali pulled off her heels, and walked with Danny silently up to the apartment, the doorman opening the elevator for them. "she's been out there since noon man, hasn't said a word" he told Danny quietly, as if she wasn't stá ding right there. She entered the apartment, clutchingat Danny never wanting to let go, for fear he might not return on one piece.

Danny hugged her back, chuckling, "Cali what's wrong?" He asked. He looked down at her, pushing her hair put of her face. "What's wrong sunshine?" He said as his thumb traced her cheek.

Hearing him call her sunshine, Cali crumbled against danny. "I made a really big mistake Dan.." she whispered, tracing the outli é of her lips with her finger nail, a sick feeling rising in her stomach. "I spoke to Dominic"

Danny frowned when he heard her say Dominic. He stepped back from her, "What? How?" He asked, shaking his head. "Please tell me you are lying." He said, frowning. "You.." he paused, glaring at her. "I told you to stay out of this Caroline." He said. "What the hell were you thinking?" He asked, feeling so mad at her.

Caroline curled up into herself, trying to be as small as she felt on the inside. "I took the number out of your phone last night.." she whispered, her voice almost inaudible. "I thought I could make a deal" she whispered again, not even able to look up at him. Her nails Dúg in to her hands hard again, small pools of blood starting to form under them. "I sorry"

Danny shook his head, "You realize how dumb thjs was?" He asked. He grabbed her hand to stop her from hurting herself. "What did he do to you?" He asked. He knew that she didn't leave without a problem.

Caroline took in a sharp intake of breath, her body shivering as if she were cold. "I think I'm going to be sick" she murmured, holding her hands to her mouth. It passed and she glanced up at him. "I thought I could offer to help out his guys in the prison.. Get them out faster.. He said I have to smuggle in drugs, or else he would hurtyou really bad Danny" she said, still wanting to squeeze in to her palm through his fingers.

Danny looked at her and shook her head, "You aren't doing that." He said as he stepped back from her. Danny frowned, "I should have never brought you around this." He said as he looked at the floor.

"they'll hurt you if I don't Danny, I have to" she said quietly trying to pull him back over to her. "I thought we could swap places.." she whispered, realising now how idiotic she sounded, she never should have gone behind his back.

Danny shook his head, "Yea how did that work out for you? You could die? Is that real enough for you?" He asked, looking at her. He frowned as he pulled away from her, "You shouldn't have messed with this." He told her.

"they had already threatened me Danny.. I couldn't shut back and do nothing" she mumbled, even though she didn't know why she was standing up for herself, she knew she was wrong. "Danny please don't pull away.. I need you" she said softly.

Danny looked at her, "I know, but I just...I can't believe that you would do something like this. Do you know how dangerous this is?" He asked her. He couldn't believe she went behind his back. He sat down on the couch and sighed.

Caroline nodded slowly "I'm so sorry Danny.. I just- I thought I could make it stop" she admitted sheepishly reaching out for his arm.

Danny looked at her, "It never stops. That is what I tried to tell you. This is a life thing." He said, sighing as he let her take his arm.
