Layla shrugged. “I’ll be honest, I almost didn’t. But i saw more benefits than cons with you,” She said honestly. “You’re cute, seemingly intelligent, and can hold a conversation. Plus, you’re as close to the type of guy I’d date if I did, physically at least. And you’re good in bed which doesn’t hurt. Of all of the guys I messed with, you’re one of the better ones, and so far at least you seem to want to try.”

Ryker immediately felt terrible for not believing her. She hadn’t given him a reason not to, but he was furious at Ryan for having the nerve to come up to her after that. Without another word he went back into the party, his blood boiling in his ears. The second Ryan cake into view, Ryker punched him as hard as he could, landing hits as he fell to the ground. He knew he should have stopped but he couldn’t help it.

Drew chuckled, "Well, I am glad I drank above everyone else." He said as he kissed her. He knew that she would eventually get use to him and being around him. "So, do you want to tell me some more stuff about you?" He asked her.

Nova frowned as he got out of the car, "Ryker stop." She said as she got out, seeing him walk back to the house. By the time she caught up to him, his friends had pulled Ryker off and Ryan was a bloody mess.

Ryan glared at Ryker, "What the fuck is your problem man!?" He snapped as he got up. He rolled his eyes when Ryker snapped back, "You got that dumb whore whispering in your dumbass ear. Maybe you should run along with your fucked up friends." He said, laughing.

Layla kissed him back and smiled, putting one of her hands on his shoulder. When he pulled away she reached up and pulled at his hair. “You ever think of cutting it?” She asked curiously. “And I mean, what do you want to know? I’m pretty guarded if you didn’t already know,” She admitted.

Ryker let himself be pulled away until he heard Ryan again. Wrenching himself out of her grasp he went back, pounding his fists into Ryan’s face. “You tried to rape her, and have the nerve, the balls, the stupidity...” He said as he hit him, blindingly mad. “Don’t fucking come near her again, or I’ll kill you I swear.”

Drew shrugged, "I have thought about it." He said. He smiled, "You can tell me anything you want." He said as he kissed her again. He pulled away slowly and ran his fingers through her hair.

Nova frowned as the guys pulled Ryker out of the house this time. She crossed her arms as she walked outside, looking at Ryker once his friends left him alone. "Why would you do that?" She said to him. "You realize he is just going to be worse." She said, shaking her head. She sat on bench near them and looked up at him. "You shouldn't have hit him." She whispered. She didn't like violence

Layla reached up and tugged on the ends of his hair gently. “No, don’t. I do like your hair long,” She admitted, kissing him back and sighing. “I’m not sure what you want to know, but you can ask. Since we were talking about relationships, I’m guessing you want to know about mine?”

Ryker pulled away from his friends, his knuckles bloody and raw. “I don’t care. He tried to rape you Nova, and then came at you like you were okay. And I believed it,” He said, shaking his head. “You should’ve let me keep going.” He said to no one in particular.

Drew nodded, "We can start there." He said, smiling a little. He put his arm around her as she started to talk about her past relationships.

Nova shook her head, "Yea well you didn't have to tell everyone." She said. she looked at her hands, then looked at him. "He's an asshole." She said, shrugging.

Layla sighed, wondering if she was really ready to do it. “Um. Well, he was my first. My first everything, I guess,” She sighed. “We dated out of high school and into college, and I didn’t know better, I was just really happy. I thought he loved me. I’m from a city a few hours away originally but I followed him here to be with him. Turns out I wasn’t the only one. He had another girlfriend who he’d also convinced to follow him, he’d been dating us both periodically for years plus other countless flings,” She sighed. “When I found out I just swore off relationships. There’s no way I could have felt so happy with someone like that,” Layla sighed. “I shouldn’t have.”

Ryker sighed, not thinking about that and looking down. “Nova, I,” He stopped and sat down on the ground. “I wasn’t thinking. I was just so angry and I couldn’t stop myself. I’m sorry.” He told her, putting his head in his hands. “Are you alright?”

Drew frowned, "I am sorry that happened to you." He said. He held her close and rubbed her arms little. Drew smirked a little and kissed her cheek, "I can go kick his ass if you want." He told her.

Nova looked at him, "I'm fine and it's okay." She said as she moved to him and climbed into his lap. She hugged him and sighed, "I wanna leave though." She whispered.

Layla smiled and turned to look at him. “You want to? You know him,” She sighed, shaking her head. “I figured the best revenge was to be as attractive as possible, a walking trap, and then get every single one of his friends.” She sighed. “Hard not to feel a certain type of way when your friends can’t stop talking about your ex.”

Ryker sighed and nodded, looking up at her. “Where do you want to go? Home? I can take you there if you want,” He told her, rubbing her back softly, feeling his hands protest with the movement.

Drew looked at her, "Okay, Now I gotta know who it is." He said. He was curious to know who she use to date. He was worried that he was good friends with the guy.

Nova shrugged, "I don't wanna go there." She muttered as her head rested on his shoulder. She didn't feel like dealing with her mom for the night. She always upset her more than usual.

Layla shrugged. “You sure you want to know? I’ve all but come to terms with it, and it might cost you a real friendship,” She told him. “But you probably already know. Any of your friends suddenly very interested in why you’re spending so much time with me? Someone you’ve never seen me with?” She asked him, running her fingers through his hair.

Ryker nodded. “Where do you want me to take you?” Taking her to his place was out of the question, he’s never take her somewhere she wouldn’t be safe. “I can ask Nick if we can use his spare room for the night?”

Drew frowned at her words, "James?" He asked. He was surprised that he hadn't noticed. He figured that his friend was just curious about his life and who he was with. "Wow I wasn't expecting that." he said to her.

Nova shrugged, "That is fine." She said. She let him get up and got asked Nick. when he returned she took his keys since she didn't drink. She walked with him to the car and got in before she headed to Nick's place with Nick in the back seat with some girl he met. Nova got out and walked inside with Ryker. She watched as he sat on the bed then walked over to him and kissed his cheek.

The corner of her mouth turned up and she looked down. She’d never admit just how bad he hurt her not even to herself. “You both are close. I wouldn’t have expected you to,” She sighed. “But there’s a reason I didn’t want to tell you. I didn’t want you to think being with you was to get to him, I’m really here because you asked me to be.”

Ryker shut the door behind them after letting Nick know they were there. He sat on the bed and put his arm around her. “I’m sorry I doubted you.” He said softly. “I shouldn’t have.” @ Gunslinger;

Drew nodded, "It's okay, really." He said as he took her hand, lacing their fingers together. "I guess it just all makes sense now." He told her. "Don't worry about it." He said as he kissed her.

Nova smiled as she sat with him, "It's okay. it's not like you have known me for a long time. I am sure there are things about you that you don't want to tell me." She said. Nova knew eventually it had to come out. "You are really the only person I have told beside my mother." She said to him.

She kissed him and sighed against his lips, wrapping one of her arms around his shoulder. “It’s weird, huh? All of the questions he might have asked you makes sense, though I’m not sure how forthcoming he’s been about his past to you.”

Ryker pulled her toward him and sighed. “But something told me he was lying and you were right I just... hearing him talk like tjay about you was infuriating.”

Drew shook his head, "He just kind of mentioned that he had an ex. He never really went into details. I usually don't pry into people's lives unless they want to talk about it." He said as he relaxed with her. He was glad that he knew though. "I cant believe he did that though." He said.

Nova looked at him, "It's okay. He is just an ass who likes to try to make people believe his lies." She said, shrugging. Nova pulled away for a moment and stripped out of her clothes to her bra and panties. "I am tried though. Are your hands okay?" She asked as she moved over to him and took his hands gently. "Can I ask you something?" She asked him.

She shrugged. “It’s fine though, I guess my revenge is seeing how upset he looks whenever my attention isn’t on him.” She smiled a little. “And yeah, he likes to play victim.”

Drew nodded, "Well I am sure he will leave you alone now." He told her. He was going to make sure that his friend didn't mess with her or talk about her anymore.

Nova looked at him, "Why don't we ever go to your place?" She asked as she sat beside of him on the bed. She wondered why he was so worried about taking her there.

Ryker sighed. “It’s Just not safe there. I don’t want you there,” He told her, looking at his fists and sighing. “I don’t mind if something happens to me but not to you.”
