Grayson watched her and shrugged gently and said, "Heading to say hey to my buddy. He's the DJ. Got a song you want?" He asked with a raise of his eyebrow as he watched her letting her arm slip out of his grip gently, not wanting to make her uncomfortable. He wasn't that type of a guy. He knew what no meant, for the majority of things, just not when he needed help and was clearly struggling.

He raised an eyebrow stopping her and said, "Okay first off, I asked for help, because I want to do better because I clearly need help, okay? Secnd off, I didn't even know you were going to be here and all I'm doing is talking to you, so how about you tone it the fuck down since all I'm doing is trying to do is have a good time and you clearly have an issue with me even though I literally did nothing but ask for help." He replied with the same tone no appreciating it. "And yeah, having a condescending bitch act like she's better makes it hard to have a good night. And yeah, you are condescending." He said before leaving shaking his head.

Zoe was thankful when he moved out of her way. She chewed on her chips glancing around nad noticing Ethan had left. She hummed to herself wondering where he could have gone. She had just about had it with the drunk guy when Jace came and pulled her out of his grasp. She peeked out from behind him as he spoke to the guy gasping a little when she was pulled away. She pulled her arm from his grip and said, "Fine. Something tells me he's a dick even when he's sober." She replied before seeing Ethan. She waved.

She was surprised to see him glare at Jace. "Is he bothering you, Zo?" He asked her and she laughed and said, "No, Ethan. He actually helped me. The guy bothering me is over there.' She told him showing him her red wrist. He glared at the guy adn huffed. She shook her head and caught his arm. "Not worth it, and you need to stay out of fights now don't you?" He rolled his eyes at her but flashed a smile. She smirked and laughed before looking back at Jace and said, "Thanks." She gave a small smile figuring he wasn't that bad since he had helped her. She offered Ethan a chip and laughed when he pretended to snort it and rolled her eyes at him.

Aria laughed out loud, pulling him back by his sleeve. “Okay first of all, don’t tell me to tone the fuck down when you pulled me to talk to you. I bumped into you on accident, not on purpose. You don’t get to talk to me like that.” She said, raising an eyebrow and tilting her head, feeling her skin burn just by the way he looked at her. “And second of all, I never had a problem with you asking me. I tutor people all of the time, and would have loved to help you regardless.” She explained seriously.

“What pisses me off, is the fact that you came at me to ask me a favor with an attitude that already told me you didn’t like me. You think I have an issue with you? You had the issue with me. I’d never seen you a day in my life before today and suddenly you don’t like me and you need a favor?” She asked incredulously, pushing her hair over her shoulder. “That’s where I have a fucking problem. That you sat down and decided that you didn’t like me even though you needed me to solve a problem you have.” She said, crossing her arms. “And even now, when I’m just trying to have a good time you stopped me, and now I’m trying to ruin your night? You should have just let me keep walking if you didn’t want to hear how your pissy little attitude came across. So get that through your fucking head, finally. You want help? Fine. Apologize, and I’ll think about it.”
Jacewatched as the guy left, keeping an eye on him and planning to keep doing it the rest of the night. He didn’t look happy that he got told no, so if Jace had to come back and do it again he wanted to be aware of when he did so he could help again. He shook his head when her friend came back. “Not a problem. If you need help again, just let me know, I’m more than happy to help.” He told her, hoping that it made a difference and that she might be a little warmer or receptive to at least going out with him. He had never had to work this hard for a girl and he wanted to see if he could get her to at least like him.

“So you never answered me, did you ever think of going professional or is being a veterinarian what you really want to do?” He asked her, noticing her friend hadn’t moved. He didn’t have an issue with the friend, but he’d hoped he’d go somewhere to give him the chance to talk to her without issue. “What do you do in your spare time? Aside from Soccer?” He asked her curiously, finishing his drink and looking around for another one.

Grayson wasn't really interested in listening to her at the moment. He looked at her and said, "I don't get to talk to you like that? Excuse me?" He gave a laugh and said, "First off, I can talk to anyone any way I like especially if they're being a righteous bitch to me, so don't tell me not to talk to you anyway." He replied with a smirk watching her. "Really? Because I tried to be nice and all you did was tell me to get the fuck away from you, basically." He replied watching her and not believing a word she said.

He listened to what she was saying before saying, "Trust me you have an issue with me, and honestly, I tried to be nice, I can't help the fact that I wear my emotions on my face." he replied. "I didn't say anything like an asshoel I literally just asked. You ask to much of poeple." He replied watching her. He was surprised by her words and shook his head. "I don't need you to solve a problem, I need to solve the problem but need help with it. I stopped you because I figured you wouldn't immediately fucking glare at me with a look that sears infants." He replied and laughed again, "You should hear how your's comes across. It squashes mine by a million. Fine, I'm fucking sorry you didn't likethe fact that I don't like you." He replied before leaving not in the mood to beg on his knees for something. He ignored her the rest of the night.

Zoe simply gave a small nod laughing when Ethan went to go fight and held him back pointing out a lovely lady in blue across the room and told him to get his game on because she had been staring at him all night. He grinned and nodded before heading off. She looked back at Jace her sapphire eyes glinting in the light as she did so. "I didn't call out, but I do appreciate it." She replied knowing she could have handled the situation, well, probably. She didn't know if he would have gotten physical or not. She stretched a little before pushing stray strands of dark brown hair away from her face.

She blinked and leaned against a wall and said, "Soccer, but the chances of that are extremely slim, so the back up is the veterinary degree." She watched Ethan across the room and smiled before looking back towards Jace and yawned hearing his words, "Study or hang out with my friend." She said shrugging. "Not much." She watched him wondering what he did in his spare time, though she was hesitant as to ask since she still wasn't sure if she even wanted to get to know him. She would still have the same reaction if he asked her if she wanted to do something. She sincerely just wasn't interested.

Aria laughed at his words, shaking her head with a small smile on his face. At the end of the day, he needed her help and not the other way around. “Have fun on the bench this season,” She laughed, making sure he heard her before going to find her friends. She was honestly just happy that she had spoken to him now before she helped him and found out the kind of guy he really was.

She purposely ignored him for the rest of the night and went to sleep without a care in the world. The next day she went to the library to study and see who was on her list to tutor, laughing a bit to herself about the night before. She had to remind herself tjay she would also need to sign up for her practice slots before all the good ones were taken. She grabbed her list and headed down to the rink, looking to find a coach so she could sign up and also talk about what her routine might end up being. She’d also need to think music but she figured, one thing at a time.
Jace nodded as she spoke, happy she wasn’t at least walking away again. “Alright, how long have you been friends? I take it then parties aren’t really your thing then, since he had to ask you to come,” He added, wondering what it might take to get her to at least like him enough to seek him out, even if it were purely platonic.

“Soccer seemed pretty possible, you were easily the best player out there,” He said honestly, leaning back against the wall. “Plus, I’m sure you’d be able to get signed immediately if the right people came to the game,” He said to her. “But So then do you really not do anything else? Soccer, hanging out with your friend and studying?” He asked her. “Not that I’m offering myself, and not that I’m not, but would you be interested in trying a new hobby no matter what it might be?” He asked her curiously once again, his head tilted to the side as he waited for her answer. “I’m not suggesting a date, I’m genuinely curious.” He said quickly when her expression seemed to change.

Grayson just ignored her words pretending as if he hadn't heard them. It was bad enough that she had assumed things to begin with. He didn't feel like he had done anything wrong. Well, now he had, but before he hadn't adn she had just been a jerk about it. He hadn't been rude and had tried his best to be polite, but she just seemed to not care about any of that.

He headed back to his room drunk and decided to sleep a little. He woke up in the morning and washed his face before heading to class. He tried his best to comprehend what the teacher was saying but he was struggling. He even went so far as to ask the professor if they had any advice as to how he could be better since he didn't understand any of what he was teacher. He told him he would find him a tutor. He blinked before saying, "Thank you so much." he nodded his head gently at him and gave a small crinkled smile. Grayson headed towards the ice seeing that he had a bit of time. He got his skates on before grabbing his hockey stick and beginning to practice on the ice. He shook his head putting the stick away finding it obvious that he needed to practice with skating first.

Zoe shrugged lightly and said, "Since Junior High." She crossed her arms over her chest lightly and said, "No, I don't like partiest that much at all. They bore me." She admitted giving a soft yawn knowing she was usually snuggled up in bed and reading or watching netflix at this time. She looked back at him her sapphire eyes practically burning as she watched him.

She blinked and chuckled softly, "Thank you." She watched him as he leaned against the wall glancing back to make sure Ethan hadn't gone anywhere. She smiled softly as the girl was blushing and sure enough she was wrapped around his finger. She turned back to Jace watching him looking at the different tattoos on his arms and blinked and said, "Not really. I watch Netflix sometimes, but pretty much just study, soccer, hanging out with Ethan and sometimes reading." She shrugged lightly blinking hearing his words confused before beginning to wonder if he meant a date. She sighed before saying, "Really depends on what it is." She replied honestly, not wanting him to think she didn't have time for anything. Like everyone else, she had interests.

Aria walked out to the rink, sitting down on the bench to pull off her blade guards and adjusting her headphones. She only wore leggings and a tank top because bundling up while rehearsing always annoyed her for some reason, plus she enjoyed the cold. She had reserved the rink and as far as she knew it should be empty. She had to come up with a new routine for the competition starting up and she was nervous about it. She stood to walk on the ice before seeing someone there and crossing her arms when she saw who it was.

Skating over to the net, she raised an eyebrow and shrugged. “You have a crush on me or something? Because you seem to have a habit of being everywhere,” She said, gesturing to the board. “Look, I don’t have time for any shit, but I reserved the rink for practice. So are you almost done or what?” She asked him, holding on with one hand. She bit her tongue, trying not to say more, she was already nervous and being angry would only translate into her practice which she definitely didn’t want. “Besides, didn’t you say you couldn’t play unless you got your grades up?”
Jace put his hands up. “Not a date, I was just curious. Have you ever wanted to try something new? Like painting? I spray paint on the side.” He said before noticing her expression. “Not saying you have to,” He smiled. “I also really like old movies, the black and white ones,” He told her.

“And really if you wanted to go professional, you’re easilt the best player. No doubt you’d be able to do it,” He told her and shrugged. “Can...can I ask you something? Did I ever do anything to offend you or something?” He asked her. “I just kinda noticed you don’t really like talking to me and I wanted to know if I did something.” Jace smiled and looked at her, noticing how nice she looked but trying not to make it obvious.

Grayson had set up his stuff and beginning to dodge and move through them wincing when he fell a few times. He cursed getting more fired up and began to do better and smirked when he felt the wobbling began to finally reduce. He moved to and fro managing to finally get his stick back out. He moved on the ice with it knowing he would need to get his balance back as he used it to his advantage. He looked back hearing someone.

He was surprised to see Aria. He kept his expression neutral and said, "Just kind of around." he replied with a shrug. He had taken his shirt off while he did his thing, his abs showing well against his toned body. He shook his head lightly, "Not even close." He huffed a little, not at her, but from his workout thus far. He blinked hearing her words and said, "I asked my professor for help and said he was going to find a tutor for me." He responded with a shrug. "I figured I would go ahead and get back into the swing of things. Besides, If I'm not bothering you, can't i use the ice as well? I kind of asked to use it today and they said I could share it with someone." He told her.

Zoe nodded her head and said, "Of course, but there's the problem of if I have time to try something new and goodness no. I'm awful at anything artistic." She admitted with a small sigh. She nodded her head and replied, "I don't really watch movies anymore. Though, black adn white ones were and will still always be superior."

She watched him and said, "Like you said. I would need the right person to come to a game." She shrugged lightly before blinking as he started to stutter. She watched him and sighed shaking her head. "No. But i've heard of you and don't appreciate the way you treat women as a whole. Nor, do I appreciate having to say no more than once in a sitting." She responded lightly. She watched him for a moment feeling his eyes look her up and down practically admiring her body. She looked at the time and frowned softly to herself. She finally reached up into her hair and letting it fall down in waves around her shoulders and frame her face nicely.

Aria shrugged, and looked around the rink. “Fine, can you use this half? I need to practice jumps and need to use the shoulders to get speed,” She told him, stretching her arms in front of her. Her professor had asked her earlier how she felt about totoring someone and she hoped that the connection hadn’t been made that quickly, because if after what had happened, she suddenly had to tutor him because her professor wanted her to, she’d be so annoyed.

“Just out of curiosity, how much of a raise do you need to play?” She asked, skating around the net. She was only a little impressed with hockey, it just seemed like running on ice, which as far as she was concerned wasn’t hard at all. “How long has it been since you played?”
Jace stared hard at her face, trying to keep his eyes up. “Oh, yeah. That,” He said, sighing as he looked at her. “I mean, my reputation might not be all true, what If I really wanted to get to know you?” He asked her. “Still not asking for a date, this is all hypothetical. Just trying to get to know you a little better.” He smiled.

“And I agree, the black and white movies are the best. I like regular black and white movies, but I kind of like the silent ones too. Charlie Chaplain and all of that. I’m taking a film class for it because I like them, if you have spare electives or whatever it’s called. You can take it, it’s the one class I’ve got I don’t hate right now.” He chuckled.

Grayson gave a nod to her, skating to the other side so she could have the one with the shoulders. He didn't have any need for them. He had made sure to stretch before beginning t do this after a while. He knew he was rusty. He hoped, he was ready before the time the season started. He would start lifting weights again starting that night. He knew he had to do this during the day for at least two hours and then lift weights for an hour everyday.

He glanced back and said, "I'm failing one class and the other is a high D." He told her turning his eyes to watch her and shrugged again. He stretched his shoulder before getting his stick and beginning to practice swinging doing it at various speeds. He heard her speak and said, "A year and a half." He glanced back and said, "I forgot why I quit to be honest." He shrugged before beginning to practice again, beginning to increase his speed little by little. He needed t practice with some other people so he could get used to the hitting of other players.

Zoe watched him knowing he clearly knew what she was referring to. She shrugged softly hearing his words and said, "The person that told me most of it dated you, so." She and just watched him confused as he smiled. She leaned against the wall softly, before finally settling for sitting in a chair her calves and thighs killing her from all the running. She crossed her legs over one another turning back to look at him and said, "That depends on if I think you mean it or not. I don't like looking stupid." She murmured turning her eyes to look into his.

She nodded her head and gave a soft yawn. "I dunno. I don't prefer the silent ones. The only ones I like are the comedies. Otherwise, it's just kind of boring." She admitted turning back to watch him and shook her head. "I have no room on my schedule. I'm barely making it with Soccer being on it." She ran a hand through her hair knowing he hadn't meant to, but he was causing her a little bit of stress from just thinking about all of it. She was glad that she had finished up her homework for the night already and could just sleep whenever she made it back to her dorm room.

Aria shrugged as she went to practice on the shoulders. She tried coming up with tricks she might want to use for a routine but ended up coming short each time. She attempted to perfect her double axel even though her triple axel was the one she always struggled with. “So then you only have a little over a month to raise your grades, you’re probably looking for a miracle, are you sure you can do it?” She asked curiously.

“And besides, if you get your grades up, are you guaranteed starting line?” She asked as she skated around the net and crossed her arms. “Maybe that’s a mean question, you don’t have to answer it.” She said, skating in a circle around him and practicing another move. She had always thought hockey seemed too easy and not really challenging but that was her own opinion.
Jace shrugged. “Let’s just say who I was and who I am aren’t the same?” He said to her, smiling hopefully. “You’re more than welcome to cut me off I just hope that maybe some day you’ll give me a chance,” He offered, shrugging again. “Again all hypothetical, I don’t mean it,” He murmured as he took another drink. “And besides you can’t put another persons experience on yours.”

“But yeah, it’s a great class for whenever you have the time. The professors cool and the workload isn’t too bad either. You might be able to use it for another elective or something,” He said as he looked at her. “But you don’t have to of course,,” He added quickly wondering why he felt that he had to add that on to talk to her.

Grayson glanced back hearing her words and said, "A month and a half." he replied watching her before running a hand through his hair. "I'm sure I can if someone helps me understand the things I don't." He murmured glancing back at her watching as she continued to practice. He then ran a hand through his hair gently and said, "Actually, I am. The coach has wanted me to play for two years." He informed her knowing he had been his highschool's saving grace for their team.

He looked back at her and said, "It was mean, but I'm used to it." he replied focusing on moving faster. He made a sound before finally putting weights in his jacket to make sure he moved faster when they came out. He continued with his rigorous training knowing most people didn't take it as seriously as he did.

Zoe shook her head lightly and said, "Something tells me, that isn't true." She murmured softly running a hand through her hair gently and sighed and said, "I dunno." She looked at him and continued to play with her hair. She shrugged and said, "No, but if the things they said are true, then I don't really want to get mixed up in it." She replied.

She pursed her lips and shok her head and said, "I know I don't have to, but honestly, I'm not going to have any space available for electives." She admitted before seeing the time. She grabbed her jacket and said, "I"m ging to go ahead and head back to my dorm." She pulled it over her shoulders heading for the exit. She soon started to walk back shivering as the cold hit her.

Aria sighed, taking a break and skating to the center of the rink. She got her water bottle and watched him for a bit. “Yes well it’s a habit, you weren’t exactly the nicest to me so how else could I have learned to react,” She told him. She watched him for a while and then went back to practicing the maneuvers she would need for performances.

“If you just had a few classes why didn’t you just sign up for tutoring in the library for whatever subjects you needed?” She asked him, skating around the edges for speed to practice her turns.
Jace shrugged his shoulders. “You won’t know unless you found out for yourself,” He said with a small sigh. “You might learn something new about me instead of taking it from rumors,” He explained. He set down his drink and picked up his jacket. “I’ll walk you, I was headed out soon anyway,” He offered her, heading towards he door.

“Would you mind letting me give you a ride home?” He asked her, not wanting to push but just wanting to be polite. He wanted her to see that there was more to him than rumors, and he saw it like a challenge. He could do that if it meant she’d give him a chance.

(I understand! Don't worry about it!)

Grayson gave a shrug hearing her speaking again. "It's not like you were that nice either." He replied not even looking at her as he worked to increase his speed. He soon was dripping sweat from the exertion. He knew most people didn't think Hockey took much skill, but it was a lot harder than it looked. He soon took his shirt off revealing his well toned body. He let it fall over the side of the railing. He went back to his practice.

After he finished up, he put a towel around his neck dabbing at the sweat dripping from his forehead. He glanced backed hearing her words and said, "Because, they will treat me like i'm stupid. I'm not stupid." He replied shrugging before grabbing his back with one hand knowing it was heavy, but would help build his muscle again. He threw it over his shoulder heading for the showers.

Zoe shrugged and replied, "That's the thing about people. I don't really want to find out." She looked at him hearing his sigh. She shrugged lightly knowing it hadn't all been rumors but first hand account from a good friend of hers. She blinked hearing his words and just looked at him before nodding. "Alright." She murmured before heading out waving at her friend with a grin nodding her head and laughing as he mouthed that he would call her. She just waved him off.

She knew he was going to be too busy to call her tonight. Once outside, she pulled her jacket close glancing up hearing Jace's words. "No, I like to walk." She replied. "But thanks." She started to walk towards her dorm building, shivering a little at the bitter wind. She kept to the sidewalk, making sure to be near to the lights. She didn't want to stray too far near the street knowing that that was how people got grabbed.

Aria skated off the ice and put on her guards before crossing her arms. “Well, it cant be helped now, can it?” She said, shrugging and drinking her water. She watched as he cleaned up and went over to the showers, taking a break as well before going back to practice. She knew she didn’t have much time and she wanted to make the most out of it. She also knew that once the season started back up officially there’d be even less time to practice so she should get as much in now.

She thought about what he said and sighed, knowing that the library was his best choice especially since even though they had had a conversation she didn’t want to help him from how he treated her. As far as she was concerned that hadn’t changed. She got a message from her coach telling her she was offered up for a favor for her to tutor a student for extra time on the rink. She got her things together and texted the coach back rhay she would meet the student later.
Jax’s raised his eyebrows. “Then...how do you plan to meet people? You have to find out to learn about different stuff,” He pointed out as she walked. He walked past his car, walking her back to the dorm and shrugging. “So then, what do you do if not get to know new people?” He asked her. “Oh here,” He said as he took off his jacket. He handed it out and smiled. “Just take it, I don’t care. Better than getting a cold and you have to play soon,” He said as he handed it to her.

He knew once they got there he would need to walk all the way back but it didn’t bother him since she was giving him the opportunity to at least walk her home. He didn’t like that she had such a bad idea of him and wanted to change it he just wasn’t sure how. She seemed to have such high walls up he didn’t know how to begin to get through them to her but he was going to try.

Grayson was sore and had been there practicing for hours. He leaned against the wall letting the water fall down his back before lifting his head and letting it fall down his face. He finished up with his shower before dressing again and heading out. He slung the bag over his shoulder once more heading back to his dorm room. He threw his shit in the corner before eating a protein bar and getting a water. He headed to his other classes before heading to the library knowing he had to meet his new tutor.

He ran a hand through his hair having brought the two subjects he was having the most trouble in. He didn't really learn the most obvious way. He needed creative ways to learn things with analogies that applied to him. He sat down at a table that had been reserved for him before opening his notebook frowning as he tried t understand it. After a few minutes he closed it frustrated running a hand through his hair lightly.

Zoe looked at him a small ghost of a smile playing at her lips. "I don't plan on meeting people very often." She shrugged. "That's why I chose to be a vet instead of a doctor. Animals are far easier to understand." She shrugged lightly with a laugh before blinking hearing him still speaking. She was surprised. She gave a shrug lightly before sighing. "I just I guess observe people." She laughed.

Seeing him holding out his jacket, she sighed hearing his words and just took it knowing she was cold. Her hand accidentally brushed against his. Her hands felt like ice. She slipped it on instantly feeling warmer. She nodded, "I'm used to the cold, but it's never fun." She laughed and continued down the road. She groaned and said, "The first game is supposed to be below freezing and coach says no tights underneath our shorts. I think I might freeze to death." She complained before getting to her dorm. "See you later. Thanks for walking me back." She flashed a smile before disappearing into her dorm.

Aria headed into the library, looking at the paper her teacher had given her. She was being given extra credit even though she didn’t need it, and it was a favor to the coach. She went to the table in the back, not looking at who it was. “Hey I’m Aria, its...” She trailed off as she noticed who it was. “No,” She said, shaking her head. “I don’t care how many strings you pull, you were rude to me why should I help you?” She said, looking over to the tutoring table.

“Just sign up over there or something,” She mumbled. “They’ll help you and be done with it,” She said, seeing how frustrated he looked at his book. “And I’m sure they’ve got openings for today. Okay?” She said, gathering her stuff and going to text her teacher and the coach.
Jace smiled and nodded, happy she accepted the walk and kept the jacket. She’d have to come see him again rhay way and that meant another chance to try to talk to her. He turned and headed the long way back to his car, walking the blocks back to the party before pulling out his keys and driving home.

The next day he hung out around campus, looking around for his friends and seeing her walking down the corridor. “Oh hey, I had a question. Think you could tutor me in math? I need to pass or else I’ll have to retake it and since you wanna be a vet, I bet you know numbers pretty well, huh?”

Grayson stared at his book before slamming it shut running his hand through his hair not caring how it looked at the moment. He didn't understand why none of it made any sense. He looked up hearing words and sighed seeing Aria and frowned softly hearing her words and said, "I didn't pull any strings. I didn't even know it was going to be you okay?" He said sighing. He shook his head lightly, "You were rude back to me. Holding a grudge isn't going to fix anything." He pointed out.

He ran a hand over his face and sighed shaking his head lightly. "My professor said you were the only one that could help me with how I need to be taught." He frowned for a second before shaking his head and leaning forward and saying through clenched teeth. "Ihavedyslexiaandnooneelsewillhelp." He fumbled over his words saying them so fast. He flushed before looking away feeling embarrassed as well as upset about the whole thing.

Zoe waved a little at him before going into her dorm. She headed to the bathroom taking her makeup off before hopping into the shower. She finished showering before getting dressed again and hopping into bed. She fell asleep quickly. She woke up in the morning before getting dressed for her day. She knew her game was the next night and was beginning to feel the pre-game jitters.

She headed to class looking down at her phone as she headed from her second class to her third. Hearing a voice, she turned her eyes up to see Jace and blinked surprised as she listened to him speak. She raised an eyebrow lightly before sighing shaking her head lightly not needing this. She furrowed her brow, "I have so much going on between classes and soccer. I-i don't think I should tutor someone right now." She saw his face and sighed shaking her head and muttering something. "Fine, I'll figure something out. What math and what's giving you trouble?" She asked with a sigh looking at him with her eyebrow raised.

Aria sighed, now understanding why he chose her to ask. She had dyslexia as a child but it somehow got easier to deal with. So she understood where he was coming from. And his frustration alone told her this was something he has been dealing with for some time. She looked at him and shook her head, putting her things back down. “Fine, I’ll help you,” She said, knowing that dyslexia was hard even when you didn’t understand the subject matter.

“What classes are you struggling with,” She said, looking at him. He still looked embarrassed for admitting it and she looked at him. “Look, it’s fine. Extremely common too. I’ve got it too,” She said, gesturing to the books. “So don’t be embarrassed, just tell me how I can help.” She said, pulling out a notebook to figure out what worked for him.
Jace hadn’t expected her to even speak to him, let alone agree. “Um, algebra,” He said, smiling and walking with her. “And it’s basically everything. I don’t like how numbers have letters mixed in, it’s not right, English and math should never be together,” He said as they walked. He had been struggling in his classes, that much was true but he didn’t care if he failed it. He just knew rhay if she would be willing to help he should at least try.

“When would you have time? I am at your disposal, you know. Since you’re helping me,” He told her, smiling as they walked. “So your games coming up, excited?” He asked her as they walked, him keeping pace as they walked along the corridors. She seemed to be in a good mood or at least more inclined to talk to him and he would take it whichever was the cause or reason. “A few of my friends are coming by to watch so we’ll be there, we know this is a pretty big game too, so you must be excited for it.”

Grayson sighed running a hand through his hair again trying to smooth it out knowing it looked like a mess. Hearing her words, he was surprised, a little confused, but more than anything grateful. "Thank you." He said honestly with a sigh. He watched her put her things back down before pulling out his notebook. He watched her for a moment.

"English and science. Both have a lot of reading. Since math is mainly numbers, I don't get turned around." He explained biting down on his lip softly. He was still embarrassed. Hearing her words, he blinked looking down at her surprised. "I don't know what helps, to be honest. Everyone else just tells me I'm dumb and it isn't that hard." He explained telling her how he got so turned around and showing her his notes.

"College Algebra?" Zoe asked him a little confused. "Or is it a more advanced college algebra?" She wanted to know exactly what she was going to be helping him with. "Well, I certainly didn't make the rules." She said with a sigh. "Alright. That makes it easy then. It means I can start from the beginning." She laughed running a hand through her hair. "I haven't taken Algebra since sophomore year of highschool though. So, I will need to refresh." She warned him.

"Uhh, I'm not sure. I'm free most weekends since they make soccer games during the week." She pointed out with a small smile. "No, I am not. It's going to be cold as crap." She gave a sigh running a hand through her hair. She hummed softly to herself a little. Hearing his words, she nodded her head. "Not really excited, more like just wanting to get the stress over with. It's the rival game, which means everyone is going to be VERY critical of everything we do." She smiled gently. "Though, our rivals are pretty rude and aggressive, so it would feel nice to take them down a notch." She pointed out with a laugh. Her laugh was light and sweet sounding.

Aria looked at the notes and sighed, wondering how she might be able to help him. She had dyslexia growing up but it had gotten easier to deal with because teachers spent the time to explain it to her rather than her having to read it herself. She could tell he was stressed about it, and despite the way they started she knew she wouldn’t really be able to not help him.

“Alright, from now on don’t copy off the board, write down what the professor is saying and take pictures of the board or whatever. Also ask if they’ll give you the presentations. You’re gonna have to tell people you’ve got dyslexia, keeping it a secret isn’t goinf to help you.” She said, looking over the notes. “You’re not dumb, you just need to find work around. It’s harder when you have to read things as a huge mass of words, it’s easier broken up.” She explained. “I’ll help you, and I’ll figure out what I want for it because you’re goinf to need to relearn how to take notes and I don’t know how long thay will take.”
Jace nodded. “Yeah I’m not the best at math, so any help you can give would be great. It’s college algebra but maybe the same level you did in high school since you’re already advanced.” He told her. “I’ll be free on most weekends just let me know when, and I can also give you my number,” He said with a small smile, happy thay she was willing to give him a chance.

“And I’m sure you’ll do fine, can you wear those like tights under your uniform? You’ll win, and we can study after or the day after,” He suggested. “There’s a good restaurant we can study at and I’ll buy, I think you’ll like it,” He said as they walked. “And I’ll bring my book and stuff so you can see what I’m working on. Sound good?”
