Matt nodded, "Yea I tend to spend a lot of my time out of the house." He said. He leaned against the counter as he watched her starting to cook. "What are you going to make with the chicken?" He asked.

Abby nodded, "If you say so." She said. She could tell that he was nervous and she liked that she had that effect on him. Abby smiled, "What's wrong?" She asked.

Natalie picked up a can of green beans and two potatoes, "Baked potato and some green beans?" She asked him to make sure he was okay with it. She figured it was best to drop the conversation about his empty life, she didn't want to accidentally press some buttons and upset him.

Brian shook his head and dug his fork into some asparagus she had made, "Nothing, you just surprised me, bringing up kids and all..." He smiled, flashing her his golden brown eyes. "I mean, you hate me remember?" He teased her.

Matt nodded, "Sounds good to me." He said as he sat down at the table and watched her. "At least one of us can cook." He teased her. He sighed as he looked at his hands. He knew he needed to figure out a way to keep the pack safe.

Abby looked at him, "Trust me the hate is still there. I just know eventually we will have to have children." She said. "Like in the very far future." She added. She still didn't know if she could handle having sex with Brian. Her wolf was all about it but she was not.

Natalie couldn't help but laugh, "One of us has too. Or I'll starve to death in here." She fried the chicken up, tossing in a couple cloves of garlic and some olive oil to season it and she made sure it was crispy on either side before plating it. It didn't take long to get the whole meal finished and when she did, she made Matt's plate for him and slid it in front of him with a beer. "There you go, your highness." She teased him with a smile.

Just like that, Brian saw the look of disgust return to Abby's face, but he still knew deep down she was starting to like him. It was like he had just reminded her of how much she detested him. "I don't know, I think I'm growing on you." He smiled and took the last bite of steak before he got up and rinsed the plate off.

Matt laughed, "Thanks." He said. He began to eat, not making conversation between bites. He stopped and leaned back against the seat. He watched her, "That was really good." He said, smirking.

He frowned when he heard a scream and got to his feet quickly. He was out the door before Natalie could speak. Matt frowned when he seen a girl from their pack with blood on her. "What's wrong?" He asked. He listened to her ramble about finding some dead man in the woods. "Stay here okay?" He said.

Abby shook her head, "No definetely not." She said as she got up. She went to pick up her plate but stopped when she heard a scream outside. Abby looked at Brian, knowing it was someone from their pack.

Natalie frowned, following Matt all the way to the door, but stopping before her foot crossed the doorway. She wanted nothing more than to chase out after him and help, but she knew that would just piss him off, so she stayed put. She watched the girl covered in blood practically fall into his arms, panicking, but he barely consoled her before just ordering her to stay put and running through the woods. The girl looked towards Matt's home and snarled at Natalie, "This is your fault." She barked at her and Natalie felt her stomach twist. Did people think the hunters were here because of her pack? She didn't really have time to ponder the question before she noticed the girl walking towards Matt's house. She felt her heart start to pound and she just shut the door quickly.

Brian frowned and immediately headed towards the door, watching Matt already running past his house. "Stay here." He said, not even looking in her direction. He transformed right there on the front porch and took off after Matt, knowing if some hunter was in the woods, his friend was going to need someone to watch his back.

Matt transformed into his wolf form then ran into the woods with Brian. He stopped once he caught the smell of blood. He found the body, realizing who it was. It was Natalie's father. He looked at Brian, growling slightly. He wasn't going to let this keep happening. He headed back towards the house, knowing he would have to tell Natalie the terrible news. He returned to the camp and turned back into his human form. He pulled on his Jean's and went to his house, opening the door. "Come here." He said to her, letting her come on the front porch.."Go get Abby." He said to Brian. He knew Natalie would need her friend. He rolled his eyes when he heard the girl from earlier complaining, "It wasn't one of ours!" He snapped. He looked at Natalie, "Natalie sit." He said, motioning to the bench. He stood in front of her, "The wolf in the woods..." He paused, "Was your dad." He said.

Abby frowned when Brian came back in, "What's wrong?" She asked as she followed him to Matt's house. She shook her head when Matt told Natalie her dad was killed. She pulled out of Brian's grasp and looked at her friend. She didn't want to deal with anymore death. She bit her bottom lip lightly as she watched Matt talk to her.

Natalie looked up at Matt, still feeling shaken from the girl before. When he told her whose body was found in the woods, she felt her heart hit her stomach. It felt like her throat was tightening and she couldn't say anything. Everyone was just looking at her waiting for her to say something, but she couldn't wrap her mind around it. "W-what?" She frowned and looked between Matt and Brian and Abby.

In an instant she felt like she failed her whole family. She came here to keep them safe from Matt and his group and while she was gone a hunter just swooped in and murdered her father. Tears pulled to her eyes and she looked down, not wanting to cause a scene. In another instant, she felt the urge to go find her fathers body and before she knew what was happening, she was running through the woods in her wolf form.

Brian watched as Natalie went from confused, to sad, to instantly getting up and sprinting towards the woods. "Probably not a good idea to tell her outside!" Brian barked. He didn't want to run after her, he didn't want to put himself or anyone else in danger because Natalie felt like she had to go do something stupid.

Matt glared at Brian "First of all, watch your fucking tone. Or did you forget you are beneath me?" He growled at his friend. "Stay here." He snapped before he turned and went after Natalie. He ended up finding her by her dad body. He growled at her, nudging her away..He needed to get her back before the hunters returned.

Abby frowned as Natalie took off. When Matt yelled at Brian she looked at Brian..He looked pissed off. Abby crossed her arms and sat on the stairs of the porch. She ran her fingers through her hair, "What happened to keeping people safe?" She asked, looking at Brian. No one else was suppose to die. "Fucking Liars." She said before she got up and started walking back towards Brian's house.

Natalie could care less how angry Matt was in that moment, she wasn't going to just let her fathers body rot there. She whimpered and tried biting at her fathers shoulder, dragging it backwards towards the village. She knew no one would be happy about her bringing her fathers body there, but it was the closest safe place.

Brian frowned, feeling completely bewildered. "I never said I was going to babysit your fucking people. I'm keeping my people safe." He yelled after her. He rubbed his face, completely annoyed. He headed towards the house of the girl who had found Natalie's dad to remind her the woods were off limits.

Matt growled as he watched her then decided it was quicker to just help her. Once they got back he turned into his human form and changed. He looked at her and frowned, "What the hell are you thinking? He cant be here." He snapped.

Abby walked into Brian's room and got ready for bed. She pulled on a tank top and shorts before she sat on the bed. She stared out the window, knowing they would all probably end up dying. She sighed as she heard him come storming into the house.

Natalie changed back and pulled her dad up into her arms, letting the tears just roll down her face. She looked up at Matt, looking completely broken. Her dad was all she had left. "W-what do you mean he can't be here!" She bawled, unable to keep her emotions inside.

Brian slammed the door, growling. "So fucking stupid!" He knocked over a table out of anger. That dumb girl had just 'wanted to go on a walk.' What was the point of trying if no one listened!?

Matt frowned, "He needs to be buried with his pack." He said, watching her. He didn't like seeing her upset though. He sat next to her, "It will be alright." He said as he watched her.

Abby frowned as she heard him flip the table. She crossed her arms as she got up and walked to the stairs. She watched him as he looked up at her, seeing his dark eyes. "Stop." She said, quietly.

"How am I supposed to get him there!" Natalie couldn't calm down. "That is miles away and I'm not just handing him over to your pack to take him!" She couldn't trust them to transport her dad, they hated her and where she came from. She only started crying harder at the thought of Matt forcing her to give her dads body over.

Brian looked up at Abby, in the dark hallway she could almost look intimidating. "Oh don't you start trying to tell me what to do now." He snarled. The last thing he needed was Abby to try and get bossy.

Matt frowned, "I will have your pack come get him." He said. He knew that it was the only way to keep her happy and not piss off his pack. Matt sighed as he scooted closer to her, "I'm sorry." He said.

Abby sighed when he snapped at her then walked down the stairs til she was in front of him. She didn't want to fight with him. She hugged him, hearing his heart pounding In his chest. "They are going to kill us all." She whispered as she held him. Her wolf felt calmer in his arms.

Natalie frowned and just dropped down onto Matts porch and just hugged her dads body, getting blood all over herself. She just shook her head, not knowing what to say to him. "Can I just be alone? Please?"

Brian frowned, letting his shoulders sink. This wasn't what he expected. He slowly rose his arms up to bring her into his caress. "No they're not." Was all he said. He didn't want to get into just how stupid Natalie's dad was for being out alone, or how his pack had the strength and numbers. He just wanted to calm down. "We're okay." He held her close.

Matt sighed, "Sure just dont leave this porch." He said. He walked inside and sat down in his living room. He made sure to watch out the window to make sure she didn't go anywhere.

Abby closed her eyes as she held him, "Sure doesnt feel that way." She whispered. She knew that she didn't get along with Brian but since he was her mate he did relax her. "I wanna go to sleep." She said.

Natalie laid out on the porch for what felt like hours. She could feel Matt watching her and while it bugged her, she just ignored him. She was surprised when a few guys from her pack had shown up, being escorted by some pretty annoyed looking guys from Matts pack. She handed over her fathers body and hugged them, apologizing profusely. They weren't allowed to stay long. She watched as they packed her father off and she didn't go inside until she could no longer see them.

Brian didn't like hearing those words. He felt like he was already failing to keep her safe and there was nothing he could do. If she didn't feel safe, that meant he was failing her. "Then we'll go to sleep." He whispered and led her upstairs.

Matt looked over as she walked inside, "Why don't you go take a warm shower." He suggested. He knew it might help relax her. He got up and walked upstairs with her before he got ready for bed.

Abby nodded then walked upstairs with him. She laid with him and fell asleep in his arms. She woke up the next morning and snuggled with Brian. She was worried what was going to happen now.

Natalie frowned as Matt led her up the stairs and she couldn't help but still sniffle and try to wipe away the tears in her eyes. She didn't feel like doing anything. "I was supposed to keep them safe by coming here." She whispered, "They weren't supposed to get hurt anymore." It had been so long since hunters had messed with either of their packs. Years even. She had gotten so used to their only threat being Matt.

Brian was already laying wide awake, not wanting to get up or even move. He didn't care if he just laid there all day. It was better than having to go out there and deal with the backlash from their pack. He knew there would have to be a meeting.
