@ past the time
Peyton could feel the music from the sidewalk, the way it pulled through her body actually pulled her from her funk. She smiled over at Meg as she was already dancing her way up the path to the door. “Tonight we are getting drunk.” She told Peyton stressing they were both going to let loose. Shaking her head she knew she didn’t have any more excuses. She’d finished her pills off earlier this month, and she had a clean bill of health. So the only thing stopping her from actually partying was getting out of her own head. Sure she’s partied till she blacked out but really the last few parties she’s been to were fun, but she had a feeling this one wouldn’t have the same in store. “Fine, but I’m going to pace myself.” She told her, she’d more than likely nurse the same cup all night. After all it had been months since she’d gotten drunk and she more than likely couldn’t hold her liquor.
Once inside she felt Meg grab her arm, quickly dragging her towards the kitchen. The place was packed to say the least. It was almost impossible to find any one in this place. But that didn’t stop her from looking. Meg smiled at her and yelled something over the noise but she missed it. Raising a brow she looked at her knowing she’d most likely mentioned Kyle. With a shrug of her shoulders she grabbed a cup before moving to the keg and pouring herself some. It was the only alcohol in the building she’d trust. The rest had already opened and most likely spiked, and that was a hard pass.
Sipping on the drink she raised a brow it was cheap shit for sure, but she could already tell by the time this cup was gone so was she. It had been rough on her not parting it up like she used to. However it had opened her eyes to who the true people in her life were. Turning to look for Meg she frowned realizing they’d already found the point to split up. Shaking her head she knew exactly where her friend was at and that was in the middle of the dance floor. Sighing she kicked back against the wall sipping at her beer. Tonight was going to be interesting.
