Matt walked into his room and found his way to his dresser, pulling a pair of his boxers out and putting them on. He grabbed a shirt and pulled it on before he sat on his bed, laying back and sighing contently.

Carrie walked into her place, biting on her lip nervously as she walked inside. It felt weird being back home now that she had spent so much time with Matt. She walked into the bedroom, glancing over at the bed before she began grabbing a few outfits from her dresser.

Matt laid in his bed, suddenly feeling very uneasy. He opened his eyes and looked around the room, frowning. Nothing was different, but for some reason he felt like he was being watched. He closed his eyes again and tried to ignore it, hoping Carrie got back soon.

Carrie set the clothes she wanted to bring onto the bed and walked back into the closet to look for a bag to carry them in. She glanced over at the side of the closet Zack’s clothes were still hanging, frowning when she noticed one of his favorite shirts was missing. “He wasn’t wearing it when he disappeared,” she mumbled. She grabbed the bag she was looking for and began rushing to put everything in it, just in case she wasn’t alone in the house.

Zack watched Carrie, biting his lip gently. “Why are you in such a rush?” he asked after a moment.

Carrie jumped obviously startled by hearing Zack’s voice. She turned around, beyond shocked to see him. “You’re alive,” she asked. “Where have you been?”

“I’ve been here the whole time, Carrie,” Zack said. He stepped towards her, reaching his hand out to touch her cheek.

Carrie pulled away from Zack and glared at him. “Then why didn’t you fucking say anything,” she snapped. “You let me think you were dead!”

Zack frowned. “You saw me and you didn’t say anything,” he said.

Carrie felt tears fall down her face when she realized what he meant. “That night I got drunk you were really here,” She sniffled. “And you fucking left me again!” She went back to her bag, shoving everything in it and zipped it up. “Give me one good reason I shouldn’t leave,” she snapped.

“I don’t know what to say, Carrie,” Zack said. He looked down and thought for a moment, letting out a breath. “I-I’ll come back for good.”

Carrie couldn’t help the humorless laugh that escaped her mouth. “That won’t magically make things better,” she hissed. “I thought you were fucking dead! I mourned you! Our friends had to take care of me because of how broken I was!”

“It’s hard to explain, Carrie,” Zack said. “A lot of bad things happened. Believe me, I never would have purposely left you. I love you so much.”

“Well you better find a way to explain everything,” she snapped. “Or I’m leaving and going back to Matt’s place.”

“If I told you everything, you wouldn’t believe me,” Zack said.

Carrie couldn’t help but roll her eyes at Zack’s statement. “What did you expect out of showing up,” she asked. “Me to just run into your arms and pretend you weren’t gone for a year?”

“No,” Zack mumbled. “I hadn’t really planned on coming back yet. I’m scared.”

“Scared of what,” Carrie asked. In the entire time she had known Zack he was practically fearless and had actually helped her conquer a few of her own fears.

“I’m scared of you getting hurt,” Zack admitted.
