Come Find Me

"Yeah it's great, thanks," Will said with a smile. He noticed her blush, but decided not to comment. He assumed it was because his torso was out. He used to be more of a sight to beheld, but because of the war and the rations, he wasn't as muscular as he'd once been. He still wasn't ashamed of his body, though, even if he was a bit skinnier than he'd wanted to be.

"I'm impressed at your fire building skills," Will commented, sitting down next to the fire. He turned so his back was to it, and decided to take his shirt off the rest of the way. He put it in his lap, looking up at Margot. "Do you want me to put this back on? I don't want to make you uncomfortable."

He didn't mind wearing the shirt, but the fire felt amazing on his back.

Margot nodded a little as he said everything fit alright, smiling as she took a seat next to him, letting out a content little sigh as the fire warmed her toes. "Thank you. I had to teach myself when my parents got sick for a few weeks a few winters ago and I had to keep the house warm for them."

She frowned a little when he asked her about his shirt, shaking her head a little as she pat his arm reassuringly. "No, it's alright. You're warming up, don't worry about it." She murmured, leaning over to press a gentle kiss to his cheek.

"Are you hungry? I can make something for you if you would like." She offered, although at a particularly loud clap of thunder and flash of lighting she squeaked in surprise, leaning over as she wrapped her arms around him and hid her face in his chest.

Will let out a gentle laugh as she flung himself onto him. He gently guided her so she was facing the same way as him, sitting between his legs and leaning back onto him. He put his arms around her waist lightly, and his chin on her shoulder.

"No, we can wait for the storm to be over," Will decided quietly. She was clearly terrified, and if he made her dote on him while she seemed liable to burst into tears at any given clap of thunder... Well, he just wouldn't feel right doing that. "I'll keep you safe in the meantime."

Margot blushed as she heard him laugh, but relaxed as he guided her to sit leaning back against him, feeling safe in his arms, her hands resting lightly over his as she rested her head back against his chest comfortably. "What if the storm doesn't end soon..?" She asked softly, looking back and him worriedly.

"I heard someone earlier say it might be like this all night, and it's not fair to make you stay with me when you could be sleeping. Afterall, it is your holiday, you ought to be resting."

"I don't mind, love," Will replied. "Whats a better way to spend a holiday than with a beautiful woman in your arms, anyways? As long as your parents don't come in and put a bullet through my head."

He laughed, showing he was joking. He wasn't sure her father wouldn't try to kill him, but he assumed Margot could stop it from happening. He looked at her with a smile, giving his head a shake.

"But really, I don't mind being in here with you if you need me."

Margot giggled a little as he spoke, looking back at him as he laughed. "You don't have to worry about my father, William. It's my mother that would kill you." She laughed, pressing a kiss to his cheek before she leaned back into his arms with a content little sigh. She felt perfectly comfortable in his arms as they sat by the fire.

She rubbed her eyes after a little while, trying to stifle a little yawn, starting to grow tired after the long day they'd had. "Are you tired? I can show you the room you can sleep in, if you'd like.." She asked softly, turning a bit in his arms to look up at him sleepily, gripping his arm a little tighter when she heard another clap of thunder.

"Would you like to go to bed?" Will asked. From her tired eyes he could tell the answer was going to be yes. He carefully got the pair of them onto their feet and had her turned around in his arms so they were facing each other. "Tell you what, I'll stay with you until you fall asleep, then I'll go to the spare room where I'll sleep. I don't want you to get scared of the thunder while you're drifting off."

While he would stay the night in her room, he wanted to be respectful.

Margot stretched a little as she stood, nodding a a little as she looked up at him before leading him up the stairs, holding onto his hand tightly. She pointed out the first room on the right, looking back at him.

"This is the room you can sleep in if you'd like.. It was my brothers, but he wouldn't mind if you used it.... He has some pajamas in there too, if you wanted to change." She offered, before turning to point out the room across the hall. "This one is my room.. I can get settled if you want to change." She said as she slowly moved out of his arms, moving over toward her door.

"I'm okay in this, but I'll wait in the hall if you have to get ready for bed."

Will was used to sleeping in the same clothes he worked in. Even before the war he rarely put sleep clothes on. His mother usually got mad at him for it, but he couldn't be bothered to change. A lot of the time he worked long shifts, so he would come home and sleep, then change into a fresh set of clothes in the morning.

He moved back from Margot and leaned against the wall opposite her door, bowing his head and closing his eyes to show he wasn't going to try to catch a peep of her doing anything.

Margot smiled a little as she watched him lean back against the wall and close his eyes, shaking her head a little. She'd already changed into her nightgown earlier, and it would take about thirty seconds to brush and braid her hair, so she see the need in him closing his eyes, although she liked that he was being gentlemanly.

Once she'd quickly brushed out her hair and braided it she walked back over to him, slowly taking his hands in hers to give them a little squeeze, standing up on her toes to press a brief kiss to his lips, having felt brave enough in the moment to do it.

Her cheeks flushed bright red after she'd done it, standing frozen in front of him as she stared up at him with wide eyes, surprised she'd had the courage to actually kiss him.

Will kept his eyes close right up until he felt Margot's lips on his. He opened his eyes in surprise to see a frozen in place Margot with bright red cheeks and wide eyes. The sight was nearly too endearing for him to handle. He let out a hearty laugh and wrapped his arms around her shoulders, pulling her into him tightly.

"I feel like me mum, but you're too adorable for me to handle, love," Will said, turning his face to speak into her ear. "Honestly, I don't know how you don't have people falling all over you all the time."

His laugh only made her blush brighter, her mouth opening to apologize, although she was silenced as he wrapped his arms around her and pulled her close, smiling slowly before letting out a little giggle as he spoke into her ear.

"I don't know... But I'm glad you're the only one that seems to be falling over me, everyone else doesn't seem as good.." she smiled a little, her hands resting lightly against his bare chest, her fingers absent-mindedly brushing over his skin as she looked up at him.

"Oh that's only because you don't know me well enough yet, love," Will said, pressing his lips to her forehead. "I'll disappoint you soon enough. C'mon then, lets get you into bed."

He loosened his grip around her shoulders just to slide his arms down her body further, bending slightly so he could pick her up. She was quite a bit smaller than him, so it made for an easy lift. He quickly moved her to her bed, plopping her down with a smile. He hadn't meant for it to be suggestive, but rather playful, and hopefully she knew that.

"Which side's yours?" he asked, wondering where he should lay.

"I'm not sure about that, Monsieur William.. I may not have known you for very long, but I think I know a lot about you already.."

She giggled as lifted her into his arms to carry her to bed, her arms wrapping around his neck to help keep her balance, a laugh escaping her as he plopped her down on the bed, smiling at him before she shifted to slide under the blankets, occupying her normal spot on the matress before she patted the spot next to her as she looked up at him.

"You get closest to the wall and the window.. I hope you don't mind."

"Don't mind at all," William said, flopping down onto the bed. He kept himself above the blankets, even if he wanted to be below them. He'd scoot under if she asked him to, but he was at least trying to be a gentleman. He figured they might not really have the time for that, seeing as he only had ten days, but he didn't want to seem like he was out for something when he wasn't. He genuinely liked Margot, she was more to him than what the other soldiers saw the girls in town as.

"Do you want me to tell you a story?" Will offered, though joking. "Please say no. I've got the imagination of a maths teacher."

Margot happily settled into the matress next to him, smiling over at him as he also got comfortable next to her. She felt her stomach fill with butterflies, but it was a good feeling, she decided. She didn't want to do anything questionable, but she also realized that they only had ten days, so they couldn't exactly take their sweet time.. That being said, she wasn't going to push him for anything unsavory, although she didn't mind seeing him without a shirt on.

She laughed a little as he asked if she wanted a story, shaking her head a little as she snuggled closer, wishing he were under the blankets with her. "No, I'm all set... Will you hold me again?" She asked softly, feeling her eyes growing heavy again as she stifled a yawn, one of her arms moving above the blanket so she could gently run her fingers through his damp hair with a little smile.

Will wordlessly nodded as he snuggled more into the bed. He got himself nice and close to Margot, wrapping his arms around her in a gentle, yet firm embrace. The storm was still going on outside, so he hoped that she'd at least feel safe enough with him there to fall asleep. He couldn't promise that he wouldn't do the same, as he was now in a rather comfortable position, but he was going to try not to. He'd said he was going to stay in her brothers room, so there he was planning on staying.

"I hope you have good dreams," Will whispered quietly. "Maybe about me. Or maybe about a puppy. Whichever works."

Margot curled into his arms, her back pressed comfortably against his chest and she was contently tucked under the blankets with him, not the least bit afraid despite the cracks of thunder and flashes of lightning that would light up the room. She yawned softly, settling into the bed as she closed her eyes, begining to drift off to sleep.

"William, est-ce que c'est comme être amoureux? Because if it is, I think it's rather nice.." she murmured sleepily, not really realizing what she was saying in her half-asleep state.

Will's breath stopped for half a second when she spoke to him in French. Love?

He let out a small laugh, quiet enough that it wouldn't wake her any as she was falling asleep. He wasn't really sure what to say back to her. He couldn't tell her what she was feeling, but he began to get a growing feeling of dread in the pit of his stomach. He was leaving in ten days. If she was already feeling like this... God, he was going to hurt her. He knew he was. He'd give anything not to, but if she'd just mentioned love... He was beyond the point of no return.

He didn't reply, instead just lifted a hand to stroke her hair, letting her drift off to sleep.

Margot was asleep almost immediately after she'd spoke, exhausted after such a long day. She felt safe and comfortable in his arms, rolling over after a little while to snuggle closer, looking rather peaceful while she slept.

The storm didn't bother her the rest of the night despite the few very loud cracks of thunder, and she woke around midmorning, stretching lazily as her eyes fluttered open, looking around sleepily to see if William had stayed in her room with her or not.
