Kris shook his head. “I haven’t seen or spoken to Zitao in over six years.” Kris lied.

‘Okay well if he contacts you in anyway, give this number a call,’ the officer handed Kris a card before he went back to his squad car with his partner.

Kris nodded. “Will do.” He said and watched the officers leave, before shutting and locking his door.

He went upstairs to his room. “Tao?”

Tao raised his head up and looked at Kris from his position of having it tucked into his arms that are wrapped around his knees.

“Listen, we’re going to leave okay? Someone called the cops and said they saw you running from your house covered in blood...so, we need to leave China.” Kris said. “Do you still have your passport?”

‘But if I run, that’s going to make this worse, isn’t it? Worse than I already made it by not calling the cops in the first place.’

Kris thought for a moment, “I suppose you’re right...we can always go down to the police station, and you can explain to them the situation.” Kris saidz

Tao looked terrified of that but he nodded, ‘o-okay.’

“First, we need to eat something, then we’ll get ready.” Kris said.

‘I’m not hungry...’ Tao told him, looking back down. Honestly he felt like if he ate something, he would just throw it up.

“Please Tao...eat a little...please, for hyung?” Kris said.

‘I can’t...I feel like if I eat, I’m going to throw it up. I don’t think I’ll be able to keep it down.’

“Okay...at least drink something?” Kris said, cupping Tao’s face, brushing his bangs out of his eyes.

Tao shook his head, ‘I can’t.’

Kris sighed, “okay, let’s get ready then...” he said and got up. “I know you’re scared but I’ll be there with you, okay?”

He nodded and got up, slightly shaking, ‘okay.’

Kris helped him get dressed and even held his hand as they walked to Kris’s Lamborghini.

When he was seated in the car, he curled in on himself the most he could without, putting his feet on the leather seats.

Kris looked over at him as he pulled out of the driveway and headed towards the police station.

Tao was slightly shaking, terrified. What if they didn’t believe him and arrested him and he went to prison?
