An irritated sigh escaped from Vince as he slowly rolled his eyes and shook his head. He couldn't believe what he was just signed up for. A human double date, with people, that he and the pack haven't gotten to look into yet. "You're damn right I'm not going to allow for you to go on your own. You're a trouble maker, who's gonna come in and be your superman?" Vince replied, a slight tease at the end as he followed after Charlotte. Then offered a slight teasing shoulder bump as they made their way into the parking lot.

Spotting them, Max moved off of the hood of the car and moved to pop open the trunk. "We're going to have to plan another day to grab the rest of her things," Vince explained to his closest friend in the pack and second in command. "That sounds fine, I'm free most of next week," Max explained as he glanced between Vince and Charlotte. His eyebrows slowly rising as he seemed to sense something. "Alpha getting to you?" Max asked, a slight smirk slowly displaying along his lips in a teasing fashion.

"Shut up," Vince mumbled as he went to the side passenger side and opened the door for Charlotte. "Let's go, I'm getting a little hungry." Vince changed the subject as he closed the door for Charlotte before heading towards the driver's side to drive them home.

"I am not a troublemaker." Charlotte mumbled to him with a little pout. "Maybe I am currently being a trouble magnet but that's not my fault." She pointed out to him.

Once they arrived to the car and to Max, the woman offered a little smile. Her head tilted slightly as she noticed his eyebrows raising. Though as he asked if the Alpha was getting to her, Charlotte made a slight face before grabbing her hood and pulling it back down on her face. How had it been that obvious? "More like getting on my nerves." She mumbled to Max. Charlotte did not need two men teasing her.

As Vincent opened her passenger door, Charlotte moved into the car and leaned back into her seat. Her fingers tapped against her knee, thinking over what had occurred in the last five minutes. Though, as Vincent was pulling out of the parking spot, a bit of a smirk came over her face.

Charlotte dropped her hood down and turned back to Max, a huge mischievous smile coming over her face as she looked at him over the headrest of her seat (Only being able to do this because she was completely turned around in the car and without her seatbelt on). "Hey Max." She started, fluttering her eyes at him. "Do you want to be my date for this double date I am going on on Saturday?"

Hearing that Vincent was getting on Charlotte's nerves caused Max to let out a small chuckle. The second of command couldn't help the smirk that also started to develop as he glanced at the rearview mirror where he could see Vince's eyes glancing at him. "Yeah, yeah. Vince has that effect on some people." Max agreed and received a glare in return which caused the Second in command to let out another loud laugh. He was so getting his ass beaten when they got home.

Doing his best to focus on the road, Vince slowly started to tap on the steering wheel. His eyes looking back and forth as he made sure that no one tried to run them off the road or cut them off. People were shitty drivers sometimes, and a deranged pack with a want to kill an innocent human could be even the worst drivers for all Vince knew. Pulling out of his thoughts, Vince glanced towards Charlotte and cast her a glare as she asked Max to be her date for Saturday. An thankfully they were at a red light because Vincent pressed down hard on the brake as he leaned over to force Charlotte to sit straight in her seat and buckled her in.

"You will NOT go with Max Saturday, nor will you be going with anyone else but me! An keep the damn seatbelt on, you could go through a window or something if I slam on the breaks," Vince chastised as he sat back in the driver's seat and put his own seatbelt back on. "If you want to keep trying to tease me about Saturday, I'm taking your phone and telling Helen that you're not able to go." Vince tightened his grip on the steering wheel and glared at the road as he started to drive once more. No more was he in a good mood. "Yeah uhh, I'd like to keep my head, so I'm gonna have to say sorry," Max mumbled after watching the small exchange of an overly protective Alpha with his mate.

Feeling herself getting grabbed, Charlotte let out a loud squeak. Though before she realized what was happening, she was turned around and shoved down into her seat. The young woman tensed hard as she saw Vincent hovering over her, after having forcing her down. A deep uneasiness flowed through her small frame and Charlotte pressed herself down into the seat, trying to make some room between herself and Vincent.

The young lady thought that was the end of it after Vincent had buckled her in and shifted back into his own seat. Though that was when he started to chastised her, she only sunk lower in her seat. Charlotte's eyes dropped down to her feet for a moment before her head turned to look out the window. A strong heaviness sat down on her chest. What a jerk.

It wasn't even fair. Vincent and Max had been teasing her. She made one little joke and suddenly Vincent went into overdrive, threatening to take away the only good thing that had happened lately. Besides, Vincent didn't even want to go on Saturday. He shouldn't care if she brought someone who would actually want to have some fun. Charlotte's arms folded in front of her chest as a foul mood started to radiate off of her. She sat in silence for a long moment before she couldn't hold it in anymore. "I don't know why you care, you don't even want to go on Saturday. And you don't have to be so mean! You're being such a hothead."

The right side of Vince's eye twitched as he listened to Charlotte start complaining after being quiet for a couple of moments. Her words hit places that they shouldn't, and if she weren't a human, he'd be sure to put her in her place. If she weren't his wolf's other half, then he'd be more than happy to snap at her and remind her that he was the Alpha for a reason. He had the power to put everyone in the pack in their place. He was the strongest and fastest of them, he was the Alpha. Not this little human. Maybe one day she'd be his other half but right now she was acting like a child.

"I never said I didn't want to go," Vince said as he narrowed his eyes as he watched the road. "I agreed to go to this thing. Didn't I? I could have told your friend that we actually had plans and forced you to keep walking without a single goodbye." Vince pursed his lips together after speaking and let out a small huff. His head shook back and forth for a moment as he tried to calm himself down. If he got too angry, his wolf might try and break free and that would be terrible since he was the one who was driving the car.

Pulling up to the house, Max practically jumped out of the back seat and headed straight to the house. Not offering to help carry a single thing. "Do you know why I'm being strict? Do you know why I've kept you from your friends for the past couple of weeks?" Vince asked, narrowing his eyes. "There are things out there that are dangerous Charlotte. Things, people, that can kill with a swifter action. I'm not just protecting you, I have others that need to be protected as well. The world doesn't revolve around you so get off your damn high horse." With that said, Vince got out of the car and slammed the door shut. He went to the trunk and grabbed the things that they got from Charlotte's dorm to bring inside. Vince could sense someone was on patrol, so if Charlotte wanted to try and make a run for it or something then she could. She'd be watched anyways.

Charlotte came out of the car, slamming the door behind her. She thought the argument, having bitten her own tongue at his snippy remark in the car. But it seemed that Vincent had more to say and it caused a frustrated sigh to leave the woman. "I don't remember asking to be put under your thumb, Vincent!" Charlotte snapped at him. "And funny for you to talk about high horses, alpha." Her hands balled up into fists, her anger only rising. "Also, a blind man could have seen how disinterested you were!"

The young woman threw her hands up, deciding to give up on the man and this conversation. She turned on her heel and started to make her way down the path that her and Vincent often went on. Charlotte was fed up with being stuck in between a rock and a hard place. She had accepted that she had to be here until the other pack was dealt with. But the woman felt like she had to fight for every bit of freedom. Freedoms that she used to have. Hell, it was more than just freedom! It took so long until the man had calmed enough for her to go get her own things! But he still restricted her in many ways. She had no access to her phone, the internet or her friends and family. Charlotte was surrounded by wolves who all bowed down to the alpha without a thought. This was very isolating.

She had walked for some time, managing to calm down a little. Though admittedly, the young woman was still furious with Vincent. Turning towards the lake, Charlotte decided that she would take a seat by the water. When she arrived, however, Luke was sitting there. Charlotte thought about turning back for a moment but eventually let out a sigh and sat down besides the man. The smell caused her nose to wrinkle up and she looked, seeing that he was smoking. Gross. But maybe he would be high enough to deal with her irritation. "Can I rant to you?" Charlotte asked him, her voice sounding a bit sad. "Vincent is being a horrible jerk."

Being lost in thought himself, Luke looked up as he heard footsteps nearing the lake. His dark brown eyes landed on the girl that the Alpha was attracted to. A small groan escaped from the teenager as he looked forward again and took the pot stick out of his mouth. The first thing that came to his mind was that he was going to be yelled at for smoking pot. The shit tasted disgusting but it was really the only thing he had that reminded him of his old life so everyone can just fuck off.

"That sounds like typical V to me," Lucas mumbled as he flicked the ashes from his pot. His eyes looking down as he watched the burnt paper blow away with the light breeze that blew by them. "Lay it on me." The teenager said as he raised the thing back to his lips and took a drag. He held the smoke in and offered the stick to Charlotte in case she needed something to help her relax or something. Then, rather or not she took a hit or not, Lucas brought the drug back to his lips and took another drag after releasing his last puff of the shit.

Closing his eyes, Lucas laid back on the ground and kicked his legs out in front of him. He stayed quiet as he listened to Charlotte as she ranted to him. Just puffing away on his pot stick and listening. Doing his best to be a good sport when in reality all he wanted was for Charlotte to not tell anyone that he was smoking pot in the woods behind the house.

"No, thank you," Charlotte said as the teen first offered her a hit. She wasn't really into smoking. Maybe she would have taken one if the boy had an edible but smoking was just really gross to her. Though as he pulled it away, a thought came to the young woman's mind. That being that it would probably piss Vincent off if he caught her out here smoking. Good. "Wait, wait -" She reached out and took the joint from his fingers and put it into her own. She brought it up to her lips but before she took a hit, Charlotte dropped it away from her face and let out an irritated growl. "Just take it back," Charlotte said as she handed it back to Lucas. Charlotte wanted to piss him off but she didn't want tomorrow to get taken away from her.

Once the stick was back in Luke's hands, her own hands went up and ran through her hair. Her eyes closed for a moment, taking in a deep breath to calm herself down before she started to get into it. Charlotte had to get it all out of her system but she didn't want to be yelling at the teen as she did so. Finally, she looked up and started to talk. "I didn't ask to be brought here. At no point, none, did I tell Vincent that I really, oh, really wanted to be kidnapped, brought here, and put under his supervision like I'm 5." Charlotte held her breath for a moment before continuing on. "I appreciate the safety, I do. I appreciate the fact that Vincent brought me here before those maniacs killed me. And I know it took me some time but I agree that I should be here, with all of you. But what I do not agree with, is Vincent thinking that he should still rule everything I do. I know that the rest of you have this-this bond and you all listen to Vincent but I didn't agree to do that!"

She looked over at Lucas. "The man is literally treating me like a child. He has complete control over everything. Where I go, what I do. I am not allowed to have access to my phone or the internet. I haven't been able to talk to my actual human friends a-and family in weeks! For fuck sakes, he pulled me out of school for the semester! SCHOOL! What the fuck is wrong with school!" Charlotte stopped for a moment, hearing her own voice starting to rise. She brought her knees up and pulled them into her chest. "You all have kind of grown on me... I still want to punch Vincent in his dumb face from time to time but I like the rest of you, even though I know some don't like me. Which is fair." She sighed. "But I was given the opportunity to see one of my friends tomorrow and I was so excited to get out of this house and see someone who I know, and who likes me, and who is actually like me. I make one little joke and Vincent gets so mad that he threatened to take it away. Which is so unfair because he was messing with me ever since we left the house."

As Charlotte went on and on about whatever it was that she was complaining about, Lucas just laid there. Looking up at the afternoon sky. His mind wandered for a couple of moments before coming back to reality as Charlotte's voice brought him back to reality. Reminding him that the human girl was still speaking to him about whatever problem she was having. About how she didn't think that any of this shit was fair and blah, blah blah.

"None of asked for this, ya know." Lucas finally said after a couple of moments of silence. He really wasn't fully sure he was making everything better by talking, but he wanted to make some points. Try to at least. "Have you ever asked Vince or any of us where we came from? Why we're a bunch of fuck ups living in a house? Why Caden doesn't have a mom?" Lucas turned his head and looked towards Charlotte. "Vince is an asshole, but there are worst assholes out there, trust me." Lucas looked up towards the sky once more. "Be happy that you haven't seen the shit we've seen, you'd piss your pants."

Bringing the joint back to his lips, Lucas took in a deep drag and then slowly exhaled the smoke. "There are some things you have to tiptoe around with Vince, I'm not going to lie about that. Your joke might have just touched a soft spot. Give him a moment and maybe then he'll give you an apology or he'll stay an ass and offer the silent treatment instead. But, seeing as you're his girl, he'll probably offer an apology to keep you close to him still." Was he making sense? Lucas wasn't fully sure, he was kinda hungry though. "Do you know why Vince pulled you both out of school?" Lucas asked as he turned his head to look towards Charlotte. "Because he couldn't rearrange his schedule to have all the same classes as you. He's terrified of losing you, especially since you're still human and not fully mated to him. He doesn't want what happaned to Lisa to happen to you."

Charlotte's head started to turn as Lucas responded back to her. In truth, she had not been sure that he would say anything in response to her rant. After all, he was smoking and she had no idea how high he was. Though she went quiet as the young man spoke, her eyes slowly drifting down with his words. It was not wrong to assume that Charlotte had not been thinking about their situation as she had been wrapped up in her own. But to give herself a break, it had been a little difficult to focus on anything but that when it felt like everything was falling apart. And, in a way, it certainly had been. This was nowhere close to the life she had a few weeks ago.

"I guess I just thought that you all were together was the same reason werewolves were always together in those tv shows. Like some kind of deal where your ancestors formed a pack long ago and you all were basically one big family." Charlotte mumbled to him as she laid her head on her knees. Her eyes shifted over Lucas' face for a moment. "Some of you do look very alike, you have to admit." The woman slightly deflated. It seemed that she needed to start refocusing on what was happening around her again. Doing stuck in her own situation wasn't doing her - or anyone else for that matter - any good.

Though as Lucas mentioned that she was 'Vincent's girl', she couldn't help but roll her eyes. She really didn't need to be reminded that he had some weird, overly strong attachment to her. But she decided to keep her opinions to herself about it. After all, apparently, this was a wolf thing, something that Lucas feel a way about. Though hearing the reason he pulled her out of her classes tugged on her heart a bit. Charlotte let out a sigh before she leaned back into the grass alongside Lucas. "I guess, in a way, that's kind of sweet." She said softly. "But I don't like the way you said still human," Charlotte looked at him a little suspiciously for a moment before shaking the thought out of her head. Now that was just something she was going to try to never think or worry about.

The woman slowly turned her head, looking up into the sky. It had been clear to her from the beginning that she didn't understand Vincent. So much about him and his actions confused her, but for the most part, she had chalked it up to him being a wolf or just being an ass. Especially as it seemed the others in the pack were - admittedly - a bit odd but she didn't run into so many issues with them. Perhaps it was just because they weren't in charge... nor attached to her like Vincent was. "Can I ask you what happened to Lisa?" Charlotte asked him, her voice softening a bit. "Or why you're a bunch of fuck ups living in a house? Or are you going to send me Vincent's way to get those answers?"

Watching the sky while trying to be high was something that Lucas liked to do a lot when he was on his day off of patrolling. It was peaceful and connected him to a life he missed so fucking much. A life that was stolen away from him not so long ago. Throwing him into a world that honestly shouldn't even fucking exist. It was mental, crazy, and sometimes a little exciting to be honest. It just sucked that he had to smoke a shit tone of the pot to actually feel anything anymore. He had to smoke almost a whole day before feeling a small buzz or something. The damn wolf metabolism was fucking with him more than mentally to be honest.

"You should know better than to believe what you see on TV," Lucas mumbled as he stubbed out the last of his joint. The thing was going out anyways and was pretty useless. "My brother's Max, don't tell him I said that he thinks having a younger brother is uncool." That was supposed to be a joke, but he wasn't sure if his tone made it obvious or not. "Really though, some packs are like that. Others just live in the same city and have monthly meetings together to see how everyone's doing or something. We're not like that so I don't really know about them." Slowly, Lucas closed his eyes and listened to the water as it lapped against the muddy edges. It was so fucking peaceful out today and here he was, explaining things that Vince should be telling to the human.

Turning his head, Lucas couldn't help but to just shrug his shoulders when she commented on when he said still human. "You are though, but it'll be your choice if you want to become like us. If you want to fully accept Vince or leave him. It's your choice, Charlotte. Vince isn't ever going to force that upon you. Trust me, he's not that fucked up."

As soon as Charlotte started to ask about Lisa, Lucas was quick to look away from her as he focused on pulling out another joint from his right jean pocket. He took a moment to put the thing to his lips and light the disgusting-smelling stick. "She was Caden's mom," Lucas mumbled around his joint. Raising his hand, Lucas took a deep brag and then pulled the thing from his lips as he blew out the smoke. "She died, saving the rest of us. She was Vince's best friend too. We all owe her our lives for helping us be free." Lucas took another drag and then sat up. His legs bending as he slowly wrapped an arm around them. "Why we're fucked up, is all different but ends the same." Lucas looked out to the water as he spoke. His lips moving into a small frown. "Max and I were on our way home from a football game, we got nabbed by some hunters. They caged us in with a shifter and forced us to turn into monsters. Then, we were sold to a fighting ring, which is where we all met."

Turning his head back towards Charlotte, Lucas's lips pursed into a thin line. "Don't tell anyone I told you that shit. I'm not going to get stuck on five days a week guard duty again." Lucas mumbled, and then looked forward so that he didn't blow the smoke at Charlotte. "We are all fucked up, but it's Vince who saved us. He and Lisa risked their lives. We owe them ours."

A little hum was all Charlotte offered in response as Lucas mentioned what other packs did. It seemed to be different depending on where one was, who their pack was. She had thought the whole point of packs was some kind of bond that they all shared. That kept them together, close by, in the same house or houses. At least that was what it always was in books or TVs. And having that be the case with her old friends, and with Vincent's pack, well it followed the pattern she had already thought. But they were different, somehow, from all of that.

Though at the mention of possible becoming a werewolf, a frown moved over her face and she glanced off to the side. "I am not so sure Vincent would ever let me leave him," Charlotte told him honestly. The woman could not say that he would force her to become a wolf, like him. Though her ever being able to leave his side felt like an impossibility. And why would she ever want to become a wolf? Sure, the woman understood that there were advantages but she didn't like the idea of having whatever bond the rest of them had with Vincent. Whatever it was that made them do what he wanted. She was already too under his thumb without all of that.

The woman noticed the way Lucas looked away so quickly at her questions about Lisa and the pack. Her eyebrow raised, expecting Lucas to send her Vincent's way to know any of it. Of course, it was in his right to. Though she wasn't so keen on finding the wolf and asking him all of these questions at the moment. Though she felt a little bad about asking things that clearly made the teen uncomfortable. But as he went into it, Charlotte listened closely. The more she heard, though, the more she frowned and she felt her heart twisting a bit. It all sounded so...terrible.

"I won't tell anyone," Charlotte told him gently. A sigh left her lips as she slowly sat up. Her eyes looked over the lake before turning back to look at Lucas. "Thank you, Lucas." Charlotte said, offering him a little bit of a smile. "For letting me rant and talking to me... I don't know if you're ever looking for someone to get high with but if you are, and you ever find some edibles, let me know. I am not much of a smoker."

Charlotte slowly got onto her feet, letting out a bit of a sigh. Might as well start heading back to the house. "I'll see you later." She said before she headed back down the trail and towards the house.

Without looking at her, Lucas simply raised his hand in a simple later. He'll keep her offer in the back of his mind but he wasn't quite sure if Vincent was going to be pleased with his mate getting high with another guy. They might be in the same pack, but Lucas was his underling, and Vince was kinda a hot-headed idiot. So, just to save his ass and not have to hurt his head and thing. Lucas thought the hand gesture would be best. An hopefully, it worked in his favor as well.

Even though Vince knew that Charlotte was in good hands. Max told him that she was with Lucas by the water, it still made the Alpha nervous. Especially since that kid wasn't the best at keeping to his responsibility. More often than not, he'd probably let Charlotte slip away and say that since he wasn't on guard duty that it wasn't his responsibility to watch over her or something. Then, he's gonna get his ad beaten by the Alpha. To which, Vince will feel bad for doing after.

An when he spotted her from his spot on the back porch walking alone, it told the Alpha that he'd need to tell Lucas to man up a bit. Releasing a small sigh, Vince slowly stood up and walked towards the back door. Opening it and standing to the side as he waited for Charlotte. "You hungry?" Vince asked as he eyed the young girl, not sure who was in the wrong because they both kinda went off on each other. "We're cooking dinner together tonight." He decided to add on, hoping that would make the girl a bit happier.

A little frown came over Charlotte's face as her eyes landed on Vincent. She had managed to calm down quite a bit but she wasn't sure if she was actually ready to talk to him yet. In truth, she was still a bit upset about what had happened in the car... She just felt like her little teasing hadn't been that bad. Though she also now had everything that Lucas had said to her swirling up in her head. She wanted to ask but she didn't want to accidentally rat out Lucas by doing so right after she saw him. Charlotte was positive that she smelled like pot, and it probably wouldn't be difficult for the alpha to figure out who she had been talking to from there.

"Not really," Charlotte told him honestly. Though she stopped walking when Vincent mentioned that they were making dinner together. Was this guy psychotic? They just fought, she was still a little pissed and he wanted to make dinner with her? And not even that but - "No one is going to eat that." Charlotte told him, her frown deepening. Although she was getting tired of the pack's shitty cooking, Charlotte was very aware that they didn't trust her to cook yet. She wasn't in the mood to make dinner and for it to not get eaten.

The woman glanced away after a moment, dropping her head down. "Fine," Charlotte didn't want to start another fight. Besides, what Lucas had told her was weighing heavily on her mind. He had told her a lot without really explaining any of it. Had they all been kidnapped and forcibly turned into wolves? The thought was pulling at her heart. God and she was sure that a wolf fighting ring was not a pretty sight. She had watched the wolves fight twice and both times twisted her stomach. Just the thought of it was causing her to grimace.

As she headed into the kitchen, Charlotte started to fidget with her splint with her good arm. Maybe she could make something easy and then lay down for a bit. None of this was stuff that she could ask Vincent about yet anyways.

It seemed that he didn't even have to argue with Charlotte on the cooking idea. That brought a small smile to Vince's lips, but he quickly hid it from her. "Then they can starve because it's what's for dinner," Vince said as he slowly walked into the house behind her. Doing his best to not wrinkle his nose in disgust as he smelled the pot off of her. It kinda turned his stomach, he hated the smell. But at least it gave away who she was with, once again. Reminding him that he'd have to have a talk with the teen.

"What do you want to make?" Vince asked as he followed Charlotte towards the kitchen. Heading towards the fridge, Vince opened the door and looked inside. Cooking was something that Vince never got his head wrapped around. He was more than okay with eating food raw, hell he was used to that. Except, he wanted everyone to remember their pasts. To remain some sort of humanity, so cooking was a must now. Nightly. Kinda.

Slowly, Vince grabbed a couple of green peppers and looked towards Charlotte a little lost. "Think we can cook with these? I think they're gonna go bad soon." Vince said as he looked at the green veggie and then back towards Charlotte. He really hoped she'd help cook something that wasn't going to be mostly bland and flavorless like they usually have. Vince hoped, that this would make Charlotte a bit happier as well as get him back onto her good side. As Vince was well aware he screwed up, but he really didn't know how to make things seem better.

"Yeah but it's just gonna get thrown away," Charlotte mumbled, mostly to herself. Well, she would let Vincent handle that then. She already knew that the man had no idea how to cook anyway so she wasn't sure how helpful he was going to be. As long as she made her way upstairs before they all came for dinner, at least she wouldn't have to watch them decide not to eat it. She really wasn't all that hungry and she wanted to take some time to think about everything. Especially as she would probably have to wait until tomorrow to start asking Vincent questions.

As Vincent asked her about some kind of item, Charlotte lifted her head up to see that he was holding onto a green pepper. Though now that Lucas' words were at the forefront of her mind, and she was looking at Vincent, she could start to feel her chest growing tight and an instant need to start crying filling her up. Her own situation was upsetting enough to her, but to know that Vincent was probably kidnapped as well - to worse people - was distressing to her. Hell, she hated this but at least Vincent wasn't actual human flith. He was just an asshole sometimes... But someone who still actively tried to help her.

Fucking Hell. The last few weeks was had just killed her emotionally. Charlotte swore she could start sobbing for no fucking reason now. But she had a reason right now. It had been upsetting when Lucas told her but the more she thought about it, the more Charlotte actually played through what it was like in her head, the closer she was to - "Yeah, we can cook these." Charlotte said, trying her hardest to push it all down. "We can make t-acos." Her voice broke in the middle, her eyes starting to squint up. Charlotte quickly turned her head away. Fuck, looking at Vincent just made it worse.

Charlotte stepped around him quickly and moved into the fridge, pulling out what they needed, doing her best to distract herself. Though as she pulled out the veggies they needed, Charlotte closed her eyes and tried to shove them into Vincent's arms - wherever she thought they were. "Cut these into cubes."

Keeping a slight eye on Charlotte, Vince couldn't help the confusion that filled him as he noticed the waterworks. Were those tears that were slowly forming in Charlotte's eyes? Opening his mouth. Vince was about to ask her about them but stopped when she went on to grab a couple of other things and shoved them into his hands. "Yes, Ma'am," Vince mumbled as he looked down at the other vegetables that she had shoved his way.

Moving towards the sink, Vince had enough sense to wash off the things that he was handed. He glanced at the young girl through the corner of his eye before looking down once more at the vegetables. Reaching over to the knife rack, Vince grabbed a random knife and set the pepper he had onto the chopping board. Lining the knife up with the end of the knife, Vince started to chop the vegetable into strips so that he could then cut them across to make cubes.

"Are you okay?" Vince finally asked after a while of doing his best to cut up the vegetables. Although, from someone with some cooking experience, they'd most likely cringe at Vince's attempt. It looked like a child was doing it because the squares were all different sizes and he had left the peeling skin on the onion when he had started to chip it. "Do these look okay?" Vince asked, glancing at Charlotte. Hoping that a bit of distraction might help her in whatever was upsetting her.

Once Vincent walked away to handle the vegetables, Charlotte turned back to the fridge and held her breath for a long moment. She was not going to cry! She was NOT going to cry. All Charlotte had to do was make dinner and leave. Vincent's past didn't matter. Clearly the man was okay and safe now. It didn't matter that he was possibly kidnapped, forcibly turned and forced to join wolf fights. Or that his best friend died - FUCK! Charlotte's lip was wobbling and a few little tears ran down her cheeks. She was quick to wipe those away before pinching her cheeks to force herself to stop.

Keeping her back turned to Vincent, Charlotte worked on the taco meat, the refried beans and the shells. She just needed to stay busy for now. Besides, tacos were so easy to make and would barely take any time. Which meant all she had to do was keep herself together for another 10 minutes. Come on, she had this! Charlotte never used to be this emotional. For fuck sake's, there was a time where she was able to keep a straight face when watching a pet die in a movie.

Hearing Vincent ask if she was okay caused the woman to tense slightly. Though she was quick to just offer a nod, keeping her attention focused on the frying meat in front of her. However, when he asked if the vegetables looked okay, Charlotte hesitated, taking a deep breath in before turning around to look at what he had done. Though she made the mistake at looking into his eyes first.

Charlotte burst into tears the moment her eyes met his. "T-they lo-oook PERFECT!" She sobbed out before snatching the vegetables away from him. She brought them over to where she was cooking, taking a moment to pull out the onion skin that was still left on it. Though she didn't have the heart to tell him what was wrong with it. "Y-you did suuchh a-a-a good job. Just se-t the ta-ble okay?"
