I've never written slash. I don't mind it, but I don't read it much.

I'm going to quote a speech I made my character give in a story I don't write anymore. It's me addressing one of the people I write about. [Just wanted to clear that up because it's very angry and full of curses and I don't want you to think I'm cursing at you.]

“If you gave a shit you would understand that I was so fucking touched by your music I had to write fan fiction. My soul had to create art. I couldn’t keep the feeling that your music gave me within myself, I had to release it somehow. You would fucking understand if you gave a shit. People don’t write fan fiction because they are untouched. They write fan fiction because they’re so god damn passionate about you, they don’t know what else to do with themselves!"
That's one of the most beautiful things I've ever read because it's so true.

I love slash and it's what I write, mainly because I find het boring.
I write to have a way of letting my feelings out.

Het stands for heterosexual as in a heterosexual pairing, boy/girl.

I was just wondering what those who read/write slash (I'm referring exclusively to male/male here) think about femmeslash?

I'm not as into femmeslash as I am into slash, but I read it still. Nothing explicitly sexual though, but I think it's just because that's new to me. -shrug- ...Plus I don't like words such as pussy or clitoris.

^ I read slash a lot and I'm kinda getting into writing it, and I've always enjoyed femmeslash. That doesn't make me a lesbian or anything like that, I just...love the descriptions, rather than two male bodies together, it's females, with their general softness, and it's interesting to see the way fem/fem relationships work in fiction, as opposed to het or slash.

I'm not a huge fan of it. I've never been really. All the femmeslash I've written in the last three years was about me and my ex-fiance.

I like to write sex. And I hate to write about vaginas. So, that basically sums it up for me. [I also prefer to write male characters. I'm not sure why.]

    I love femmeslash. :tehe:
But, I agree, I don't like the words that are used in the sex part of it. Male terms are just.. I don't know, I really do prefer them, but I don't actually read slash that much at all.

I prefer the female body, not in a sexual way, but I just do, so I prefer reading about that. -shrug-.

    Slash sucks!
    BOO SLASH!

    ---

I used to to think that slash added more emotion to a story just be being slash, but I don't agree with that anymore.
I think that it adds more to a story in the hands of a good writer.
Otherwise it can be just as bad as a Helena/Gerard.

:tehe: Me and my friends were talking about this the other day, actually. The weird thing is we all agreed that we preferred the female body... :tehe:

    - - -

I'm actually becoming quite tempted to write some slash now. I never read it and I've never written it, which makes it a little confusing to me. I think The Vampire Chronicles are getting to my head :XD anyone whos read them will get what I mean!

    I don't think I'll ever write rockstar slash, though. I'm not sure why. . . :|

When I think of the female body, I think...soft, and sensual, when I think of guys' bodies, I think of...hairy.

 I'd never though about which anatomy I liked best; male or female. When I think of guys' bodies I think of tanned. Not sure why, because I don't really like tanned, overly muscly guys. :lmfao

About slash, it's mainly what I read. But everything can be good; I'll read het and femmeslash occasionally. I've been told that 95% of everything is horrible, whereas the other 5% is mind-blowing. I'm not just talking about stories, but of bands, songs, poems, paintings; hell, probably even population. So yeah. Slash can be written horridly or really well.

I'm not that much of a fan of femmeslash, but I'd read it if it was well-written. Well, actually, no. I lied :file: I love femmeslash, and I'm planning on writing one :con:

I just like angsty things, and boys seem to fit that better. But even so, I've always written male protagonists best. I prefer the male mindset. It's not that I haven't tried to write girls, I did and it sounded fake. >_>

But I think femmeslash gives the impression of a softer relationship, while slash has that tension and conflict. Well, it depends on the characterization. >_>
And regarding the anatomy discussion, for me it has to do with the psyche. I like to read what goes on in a guy's mind more than a girl's and see how they deal with things. I already know what goes on in a girl's mind, kthanx :con:

BUT I favor slash; hands down. :file:

I think I'd read femmeslash if it wasn't terribly dirty. I can read male slash to any degree of filth, but when it comes to anything involving the female body, I just feel incredibly squirmish when it's explicit. I don't know why.

But I'll read it if it has a story behind it. Like, the struggles of two girls falling in love, etc. And if the sex is kind of poetic, describing feelings rather than actions, then I think I'd like it alot more.
