I'm currently going through a terrible writer's block spell and I hate it because I'm feeling super creative, like I can just pump out something awesome, but it's...stuck. It's seriously the most annoying feeling in the world; knowing what you want to write and how you want it done and then just not being able to apply the words to paper or word document, y'know?

I usually have a better chance at writing anything at night. I need it to be dark. Period. I cannot, and never have been, able to write anything during the daytime. It's just not gonna ever happen. I also tend to write better when I haven't been sleeping. I don't know. I guess that little bit of insanity that I feel after not sleeping for days just works.

Right now, I'm fighting writer's block by listening to music and really focusing on the lyrics. A lot of Metallica and a lot of Alice in Chains. Eh. This was too long of a post, but that's my current problem and solution to the pure hell that is writer's block. Smile

I have such an amazing idea for a story but my writer's block right now is terrible, I'm not inspired by anything and I just don't have the motivation. Everything I've updated so far will probably get changed soon, ughasdfghjkl.

I always find that writing late at night helps - I rarely write anything good before about nine or ten o'clock. That whole feeling of being tired and the house being silent and looking out the dark window...I guess it just builds up to a feeling of slight insanity, and that helps me get my thoughts down on paper. The same goes for when it's hot - I feel a little bit strange in the head, and that seems to transfer into good quality writing. If it's a cold day, I turn up the heating in my room.

And often leaving my laptop helps. If I'm staring at a blank page trying to write, it's no good, but it seems that the moment I leave the room to use the bathroom or get a drink, ideas start forming in my head, and I have to run back upstairs to write them down.

I have an extreme case of writer's block at the moment. It's not being unable to write anything, but rather it's unable to write the next thing. You know I have Part A and Part C, but I need to write Part B to connect them, and I can't do it. I have no idea how to do it. So for the moment, I'm just avoiding it, shoving my fingers in my ears and going la la la la very loudly while I write ahead, but there's a giant gaping hole back there and it is driving me crazy.

I rarely get writer's block, since I get inspired by so much. Nature is most inspiring for me, and when I'm in a very beautiful setting I have a huge urge to write. I find it hard when it rains, because a really beautiful place can turn ugly, so a sunny day in a park is my dream for writing.

I'm the complete opposite, actually. When it's really sunny or bright or cheerful outside... I get no inspiration what-so-ever. I get most of my inspiration during rainy and gloomy days. I also seem to get inspiration at night as long as it's not too hot. Unfortunately I live in Southern California and don't get my inspirational days too often. -.-'

I want to start a new story, I have everything planned out on paper, ready to go, but when I open up my word document and look over it, I have the idea in my head and then I just can't type. Nothing flows. I'm finding it so hard to do so right now due to this writer's block. I'm just hoping it wears off soon. And even if I know what I want to write in one chapter of my current stories, it feels like I have to try numerous times to get it flowing in a way that suits it rather than it being inspired by something. :(

    Eh, that's where I am :\
I'll get incredibly fantastic ideas and I sit down to write it...I get three words down before it fizzles out.
My elbows (it sounds odd, but it's like a weird tingly resistance there, man) don't want me to write anymore lol

BUT. I usually get most of my ideas in the shower, doing business Embarassed, long car rides, thunderstorms.
Ooo, sometimes, I even light a bunch of candles, flip out all the lights, and try to evoke that creepy feeling that something's watching me. Once the tingle down the spine hits, it's open season on notebook and paper...

but I haven't had that feeling in awhile. :(

For me, I do some journal writing. Sometimes getting my thoughts down helps clear my mind. It releases any of the clutter that makes writing difficult.

I've also noticed that people watching does wonders to cure writer's block. I mean, if you see someone interesting, you just kinda observe their mannerisms and maybe the way they're dressed and then you can build a character around them. I don't know. Is that normal? haha!

I usually just try and force something out, even if it's terrible, because I know that I can edit it once the block has passed. But if I'm really really stuck I give myself a day off. I write every day, so if I'm seriously having problems I'll just have a break, read something new, and have a nap.

I do a couple different things to help me with my writers block. Sometimes, all I need is music. Usually I listen to Evanescence. On some occasions, I blare it, but on others, I keep it down low, just as background noise.

Sometimes, I just step away from my pen and paper, or my computer and just lay down, or do something else. I just don't think about it. I never force myself to write something.

Sleep really helps, as well. I dream a lot of things, regarding my stories and everything. Also, taking a shower helps, because the shower can help you think.

Work on something else. I do that a lot. When I'm stuck on one story, I start on another story I'm working on and that usually helps, because I think of something that crashes the writer's block dam, and causes a flood of water to come pouring out.

I'm trying to go back and write a story that I gave up on, because I can't seem to work out anything new.
So to help me I'm re-writing the plot down. Only this time I'm using two different color pens(one light green and the other light blue), I seem to work better with different colored words in front of me. I think it comes from how much I draw and color.

I’ve had my share of writer’s block. Sometimes it’s because of anxiety, stress, and information overload, but other times it’s just pure laziness. What I usually do when I’m having the writer’s block spell is take a hike. I put on my running shoes and go for a run. This lets my mind rest and gives me new ideas I can use when I sit back in front of my laptop. Aside from running, this blog— http://blog.printplace.com/5-strategies-for-getting-past-writers-block/ —gives some more suggestions on activities you can do to get past the “spell”.

Fall Out Boy's reunion might break my writer's block. I wrote a little something yesterday and I had an idea for a much better, longer Peterick last night.

I never get writer's block. If I get stuck on a piece, I switch over and work on something else. If anything, I have the opposite because I have too many ideas and not enough time to devote to them all Facepalm

Writer's block seriously sucks. Like, fo realz. I've had a bad case of writer's block since november two years ago, and just haven't written anything I liked until now. But now that I've finally got a few story ideas, I am hoping that my writer's block will finally go away.
