I try to update every weekend, but usually I don't. I update when I feel like it, because if I force myself to write an update, it ends up to be not that good :\

    I update straight I've written a chapter.
    Which isn't very much, actually.

It doesn't really matter to me, honestly, as long as they're good updates, it doesn't matter..
Unless, you know, it's been over two weeks- that's just annyoing. :D

I also update when I'm in my "good/okay" moods. I can't update if I'm really ticked off. I also can't when I'm really sick.

Sometimes I update a while after I get comments. Like for one of the my stories "I Think I'm Paranoid" I only have basically two people who comment when a chapter is uploaded and after they commented a new chapter was posted :tehe:

I update when the chapter's finished. :XD I try to update as often as I can, unless I miraculously manage to write two chapters in one day of the same story.
I try to update at least once a week - I'd like to update more, but I just suck like that. :tehe:

I honestly don't like having subscribtions updated more than once per day, unless the story is incredibly good. It often happens that I miss the updates, or the updates are just crap, because the writers try to update as soon as they can and just write down whatever they feel like writing down.

I update when I feel the need or when I've finished a chapter.
I don't usually update just because people ask me to, I feel it's too rushed that way.

    ^ me too.
I like to write in my own time. I feel it's more natural and in the end people will appreciate it more because it will flow better.

it depends on how long you like your chapters to be.

If you like them rather short, every four days.
If you like them around the area of 1-2k words, once a week.
If you like them really long-winded, once a month.

I post with deadlines to keep myself disciplined. If I didn't, i could say, Oh, they can wait, and laze off.

    So do I.
Like when it's written I can't keep it to myself, I have to post it or... I dunno, never not posted after I'd the chapter written. :D

I just got a comment from someone telling me I was too slow to update.
That made me annoyed. I'm not that slow, I updated last week. But I write in my own time and then update when I've gotten something written.

Yeah, me too. But is it just me or when you post a chapter you get all paranoid that it's not good enough?

I try to update whenever I can and not leave too much time between the updates, just to make sure the readers know I haven't given up on the story yet and that it's still alive :D

As I'm about 6 updates in front of my readers I tend to wait until most of the subscribers have read and update then.
I know I hate to log in and realise I've missed 2 or more updates from a story I like, especially since I try to log in everyday.

I usually update when I finish a chapter, but I always try to leave a week between each update, just to make sure reader's can catch up with everything. (I did have a complaint on FanFiction.net that I updated too quickly and so after 30 chapter's this reader was a bit behind). Some of my fic's though end up incomplete due to writer's block or me just not being into a show any more (a lot of my fics were on anime and I lost interest in the anime).

    I don't think it matters.
Update whenever you feel like it - don't let people dictate when you update.
Even though your chapters are all pre-written, you still have to add some stuff and edit it.. so do it when you're in the mood and you feel creative or "in-character".
The best stories are those that are written completely when and how the author wants them to be.
I've read completely amazing stories from three completely different authors; the first one updated at least two times a day, the second one updated once every few months.. by this I mean three to four months, and the third one updated in between - like three or four times a week.
It didn't change how good the story was or how well it was written. You might get less or more writers depending on how often you update, but if people don't wait for an update or catch up on an amazing story they probably weren't that much into the story to beging with.
    (:
    Good luck.

When I first start a story, I tend up update it a lot. Then after time I update it less and less. At the moment I haven't updated my story in over a month, but that's only because I plan on deleting it sometime soon.

You can't rush someone. Everyone has different writing habits.

I can update twice a day when I'm really into it. When I'm not into her state of mind I can't write otherwise its rubbish

If I have the next chapter pre-written then it usually gets posted within the next 2 or 3 days so as not to overwhelm readers. But unfortunately I'm doing my a-levels right now so I don't often get a chance to update which is shame because it does lose readers when you only update once a week if that :S
