I use past. I can't really write present right. :XD
Same. :XD In fact I just suck at tenses all together. I cannot decide properly half the time. :lmfao

I'm scared that I slip from past into present sometimes, and then back, without realising. :XD

I did that so frequently in year eight and seven in my English. It was horrid. I have appalling grammar.

I'm scared of present. Then when I see it written it just seems so...unnatural. :XD

I write mainly in past tense. I think I've only ever written one story in present tense.

It depends on how you want to convey the story and the mood you want to give it, more than anything.

Usually present tense, though there are a lot of flashbacks in my story...

I get confused with tenses sometimes, but I try to stick to past tense.

I love writing in present tense. That's what I use with my one shots and other things now. Unfortunatley I started my chaptered fic. in past tense, so I have to use that for that story.

For my fic set in the 1800s, it made sense to use past sense, so I did. :XD
But usually I only write in present tense. It seems to make the piece come alive better for me.

    I generally use past.
But I've also used present in a short one-shot that was in second person, and also a chaptered story in first person. I do like present though. I feel as though I'm able to describe situations more vividly and it tends to flow better.

I just used present in my new story. There's a bit of past when they're thinking back on things, but it's set present. I just liked the way it sounded better in my head.

It depends on the story and the mood. My horror story is written in present tense, and my gory tragedy is half past, half present.

So long as the tense stays consistent and matches the feel of the story, it's all good. :cute:

I've almost always written in past tense. Lately I've been trying to write in present tense. Sometimes it works out okay, and sometimes I end up snuggling back under my past tense safety blanket. I'm horribly at consistently writing present tense.

I usually use past tense, unless I feel like using present. Sometimes I use that if I'm describing a dream or something like that.
I never use future, because... It doesn't usually make sense, but... In some situations it does.

I've experimented with two tenses; past and present. I too, have never bothered with future ... it wouldn't feel right.

With stories it's always in the past, no matter what perspective I'm writing in.
It just makes more sense to me, and I can keep track of it.

Occasionally I'll use present tense in a one shot, if I think it's appropriate. :cute:

Amuses me to look at my old post how I wrote in past tense, now it's the complete opposite.
I can't seem to get away from present tense, it seems so much fresher and easier, I can't explain it, I feel like I can get into the story more with present :cute:

Nine out of ten times I use past.
    Occasionally, however, I use present.
Present and second person seem to go together really well for me when writing.

I used to write loads in present tense.
But now I've started writing in past tense, I'm more comfortable with it now.

I find myself always writing in present tense :shifty

Past tense is good too. I'll try that sometime.
