There's nothing wrong with well-written, good sex.
Not "OMG He touched me ThErE and ii m04n3d lyke a whore."
    K, that was overkill, but...

Sex is natural. I bet there's thousands of people having sex right now.
And I bet there's thousands of people writing about sex.

And, of course, there's us. Reading it.Because we're horny fuckers and we like to read about rockstars sexing each other.

    I don't write it, because I can't write it.
So keep on being amazing, good authors! Write those hot sex scenes!

And, yes, a person's thoughts during sex are good hints of one's character.

EDIT: page claim. i name it "power to the hXc nuns me and Brompton Cocktail are going to be soon."

I don't find anything wrong with sex in stories. Because, if anyone ever paid any attention during school, we basically exist only because our parents had sex. But that has nothing to do with anything, eh?

Sex in stories just adds to the mood, in my opinion. I mean, would you make your characters just be all 'kiss-kiss' and 'hug-hug' and all that bull shit? There has to be some sexual tension or whatever. Unless you're, like, 5-years-old or something............
5-year-olds shouldn't be 'getting some'. And neither should that 4-year-old that said, "Mommy, I'm not a virgin anymore." or whatever.

Plus, smex is very enjoyable to read for some of us who are perverts at times.

Why would anyone be against sex in stories?

Stories are very often about people.

    People have sex.

    The end.

Eh, I don't really like it. Because it's just really weird to read sometimes. I mean I just like regular stories, not stuff thats perverted. (Sorry if this offends you:file: ) I mean sure I've read stories that hint sex, but not give full on detail about it. But whatever if you like it read/write go on ahead. Sure I know ratings tell if their are going to be innportiate content but I just don't think it's needed, like that guy said before you wouldn't find it in regular books at the store; unless it was like from a porn shop and you were going to masturbate over it.

Then again it's very rare when I actually read stories and subscribe to them on Mibba.

I have absolutely no problem reading sex in stories, no matter how graphic it is.
My hang up is actually writing it. I am not good at, nor do I particularly enjoy, writing sex scenes in stories, so I generally just alude to the event/act. The only time I've written anything remotely detailed was in Picardy Third. And it's funny, because even though I don't mind reading sex in stories, I have difficulty reading this little sex scene in my own story, it makes me squirmy.
Back to the topic at hand--I think sex is one of the best ways to show the relationship and dynamics between the characters. It can express love, hate, lust, contempt, boredom, et cetera, et cetera.

That's what ratings are for. So they don't get banned.

And why people write it? They want to. No it might not be necessary for it, but that's that person's style of writing. Personally I can't write it for CRAP, but there's other Authors out there, who are amazing at it.

I don't mind reading it, quite enjoy it actually. ( hm I sound like a pervert.)
And I agree, the more graphic it is, the better.

I'm fine with it, even if there isn't any sex at all, but the author leads it up to sex, and your able to imagine it. But back to the topic; main point, I'm fine with it.

I think it can be interesting to see how characters act during sex. If they can keep character throughout, then you know it's a well written story.

Plus, I'm going to join a lot of people on here to say :tehe: perverted.

But yeah, whoever mentioned literotica is right. You think this stuff is bad? Go tell your parenst they do a good job of supervising you, unlike some of us XD

The definition of "perverse" in the Funk & Wagnalls Standard Dictionary is "willfully deviating from
acceptable or conventional behaviour, opinion, etc." When you say that you like "regular" stories, not
"perverted ones," it seems like you're implying that there is something perverted about sex itself,
when in fact sex is a totally normal behaviour in adult relationships. Sure, some sex scenes might
be intentionally perverse, and of course, you're welcome to avoid stories/scenes that make
you uncomfortable, but I think sex in stories in totally okay, and simply including sex doesn't make a scene
    or story "perverse."
Also, I guess it depends on just how explicit a sex scene you're talking about, but there's probably a sex
scene in 80+ percent of the books on my bookshelf. Some only hint at it, some go into more detail. And I'm
talking about books that were bought at a regular bookstore, I assure you, not a porn shop for me to masturbate with. :file:

I have found tons of books from Borders, Barnes & Noble, my high school library that contain sex. Masturbation. Prostitution. So... I don't know what censored bookstore you go to, but what you're saying is totally wrong.

    I agree with Dru.
I go to High school and you can find a ton of books in the library with sex in them, sometimes more detailed than anyone writes on here, which I didn't think was possible.

Sex is a natural thing, and if someone wants to add it into the story, it's their choice.
Honestly, sex is usually an incentive for me to read certain stories, but that's just because I'm a dirty minded, whormonal teenager.

Sex is part of human life. It's completely natural and, in a way, beautiful.

Now, I'm not talking about really, really, really bad sex scenes. Those are disgusting and make me want to puke. I'm talking about that one gem of a scene, the diamond in the rough. The scene where it's not too descriptive but not totally vague either. That one scene where everything is worded beautifully. That one scene where the characters aren't plastic Barbies and Kens.

    That's exactly why I read Dru's stories.

Sex in stories is definately a great asset. But that, ofcourse, depends on how and/or how well the author can write sex scenes. My opinion: The more descriptive, the better.

I, however, am a perv. So take what I say lightly.

Sex scenes can take a story from 5 to 20 depending on the style in which its written, if that makes any sense. I've read some great ones here and there, but I've only written 2 or 3 myself that I deem worthy of recognition.

So to those who can write sex scene well, keep up the good work because it's a difficult talent to master(and message me while you're at it *winkwink*).

One of my favorite Ryden stories ever has very explicit sex. And not just explicit sexual scenes, but extreme explicit sexual scenes. It's still an absolutely beautiful piece of work.

Also, if you've ever been to Literotica.com, then you'll know the stuff on this site is fucking tame.
dru, what is that story called?
It's called Present Progressive. Here is a link.
I read that a while ago and really enjoyed it, but it's been deleted, does anyone have a copy saved?

Personally, I only like reading sex in stories if it's really well written. I can't write it myself- though I intend to be able to by the time i'm 30. XD

When a sex scene is well written, it's a brilliant thing to read. When it isn't so well written... well, let's just not go there. *shudder*
