i had the same reaction when i saw she was coming to melbourne !!!!!! i sent a msg to every V.A fan i knew :D:D

Well, only ten days to go until we get the first chapter, and then we may begin the month count down. I can say that the waiting is making me jumpy.

A question or two for everyone though. Who is your favorite character, and why? Oh, and do you think that the characters left behind a St. Vlad's will play any role in the new book?

^In response to questions in post above:

1. I have three favorite characters: Dimitri, Mason, Adrian. Dimitri because not only does he seem extremely sexy (~~) but he also has all of the traits I like in a character: honesty, loyalty, badass-ness, etc. I loved him in Frostbite, personally. The whole mini-fued between him and Rose made me like him a lot.
As for Mason, I just want to snuggle him. He's willing to go through hell for Rose and all of his friends, and he does. He's such a dedicated, sweet person, which is why I sobbed and sobbed while reading Frostbite.
Adrian, Adrian, Adrian. He's such a player. :XD But I like his personality. He makes me giggle. But when Rose was asked him for money and left I just wanted to cry for him. Poor guy.
I also really love Christian, one) for the badass reason mentioned earlier, and simply because he seemed like such a creep in the first one but turned out to be quite sweet... sometimes.

2. They better or I will be angry. I hope so, anyway. I need my favorite characters. Also, the reader would be too curious as to how everyone there was taking Rose leaving.

My fave characters change in each book ... that includes characters I don't like ...

Vampire Academy:
Faves -
Rose (Kick-ass and law-bending attitude)
Christian (HOT, and not just coz he's a fire user ;) and rebel ^^
Dimitri (Badass, need I say more?)
Victor (Intriguing and fascinating. It's like he knows more than he lets on)

Hates -
Jesse(tool), Natalie(whiney, annoying, kiss up), Ralf(Jesse follower and incapable of insulting), Ms Karp(dude, she's just plain creepy)

Frostbite:
Pretty much the same except the additional, LOVE tasha and find Janine intriguing. Hate Mia, Mason and Eddie for thinking they know better and getting Mason killed.

Shadow Kiss:
Love -
Adrian (I aww-ed so much my jaw hurt, he is SUCH a sweetie)
Christian (when he's not lusting after Lissa. he actually help fight alongside the dhampirs)

Hate -
Lissa (I'm sure half the ppl agree, she's a bitch for putting Rose through that coz she's selfish)
Rose (Coz she no longer has fun, its all work with her now)
Dimitri (coz he goes off and becomes undead, pfft, i mean, what's with that?)
Christian (he's insecure about Lissa ..... ITS ANNOYING COZ SHE DOESN'T DESERVE HIM!!!)

I don't agree with Rose on the list either. :think: Her not having fun is once again, not the character's fault. She had an assignment and had to buckle down on it. If anything it's her teachers' fault. :hand:

I like the series, though I have definietly read better. Sorry to those in love with the books, but I love my adult romances a tad more. XD

^ It is okay, everyone has their own opinion on everything. No one is going to kill you for not liking it as much as another book. I can say that there are books I like more than this one, but I still love this book.

As for the characters, this is what I think on some of them in Shadow Kiss.

Lissa was bitchy in this book, I agree. But I think it is more for the fact that she is losing the constant she has had practically her whole life. Rose was always outgoing and often spoke before thinking. Now, Rose is buckling down and taking the responsibility she would have needed as a Guardian. Not to mention that at the end of the book, she finds out her best friend not only kept a secret as large as that from her, she is also leaving her behind to pursue something she has no place in. She is scared of losing the one person who was always there. Losing her would be like losing her mind I would think. For more than the obvious reasons.

Dimitri did nothing wrong in this books. If anything, I wanted to hit Richelle for doing that to Dimitri. Hopefully, things will work out for him.

As for Rose, I explained most of my reasoning in Lissa's rather lengthy explanation. She is buckling down and doing what she needs to. But instead of it being for Lissa now, she is doing it for herself. She is not letting the Moroi oppress what she wants now and is for the first time, living for herself.

Adrian... I hate to say but the poor man is being manipulated. I think he really does love Rose, but he is fighting what at the time is a losing battle. He can't reach the height Dimitri has in Rose's eyes. Not right now at least. Hopefully, he will not meet the same end as Mason. If he does see what is going on in front of his face, the man has something planned.

If you're still sad about that, this should cheer my down under friends up. Penguin Australia, who brings you Vampire Academy, has some pretty amazing things going on for you guys. While the exact itinerary of my September tour is still being planned, here's one thing I can announce. On September 18, 6-9pm, there will be a "Vampire Academy Tour After Party." It'll be at St. Andrew's in Sydney and feature everything you expect from a party, like a DJ and food. Guests will also get bags of books and other goodies and have the chance for photos, signings, etc. Oh, and I'll read a (small) excerpt of Spirit Bound, in all its rough draft glory.

Right off of Richelle Mead's Livejournal. I am jealous of those in Australia.

Well, I havent read the book in a while so my arguments may be a little weak and possibly incorrect. I cant remember about Dimitri but Rose ... she was like a COMPLETELY different person from book 1. It's not because she had an assignment but it was like she was a dhampir robot with no feelings (cept for Dimitri). She's on automatic 'moroi comes first' all the time ><"

We are supposed to get the first chapter for Blood Promise tomorrow!! Finally, all of the waiting has paid off... Until we finish reading that and then have to wait for the rest of the book. Hopefully, the wait will be worth it.
Richelle has not disappointed us yet so let us all hope she does not start now.

^Yes. Wait for the book. While I wish I did too, I don't wish I did, because the first chapter is amazing. :brightside: And it showed me that I won the bet (my friend and I bet on where she was going to look, I won )

I mean, it's not much of a cliffhanger or anything, but it's a cliffhanger nonetheless. It's just not huge, like Dimitri appearing in front of her or anything. :XD

^ I would have flipped out if Dimitri came up in front of her. It really is not much of a cliff hanger, just stopping at a crack before the story can get into full swing.
I wish I had not read it though, because now I want the book all the more.
