Oh, I see. I had my first lobe piercings shot I think. But I was 2 months, and don't remember it. My second set my friends just stuck a needle through.

Heh, I did one set of piercing's myself, the rest, I got done by a professional, I personally, don't see much of a difference.

    I did my ears myself.
My belly button, snake bits, nose, and tongue piercings done my professionals..
My teachers keep on saying, "you're going to regret that when your older.." and I'm like, "Dude, you only live once, at least, in this body..So..Go away."

I used to say, my body is my temple, I'll decorate it how I like.

It's not like you can't just take the piercings out anyways.

I pretty much suck at taking care of piercings. My ears have closed up and got infected three times in the past three years, and I need to get them done again. This time, though, I'm not going to be a lazy idiot and actually take care of them. I'll be getting my naval and nose pierced soon, but I just can't seem to convince my mom on getting my lip pierced, because she thinks they look ugly, yet I can get a monroe piercing because she thinks they look better. I'm like, "It's my body. Isn't it about what I like and not others?"

Thanks for making this, btw. I've wanted my eyebrow pierced forever, but now that I know a little more about it, I'm starting to reconsider.

Out of all surface piercings, eyebrows tend to heal more quickly than most... but if you're not very good at taking care of piercings reconsidering might be a good idea. :shifty

I got my nose pierced in the seventh grade. But then I caught a cold and had to take it out. =(

My mom won't let me get it done again, so I'll wait till college.

Surface piercings also have the highest rejection/migration rate.

I've wanted to get my bottom lip pierced for like two years now.
And there's this piercing place right next to where I live
and apparently they're the best ones in this stupid small town.
And you only have to be 15 to get your lip pierced so when I turned 15 this year I was like: "Can I get a lip piercing now?"
But my aunt is like Satan himself and wouldn't let me do it.
She's all like "When you're 18 and move out of here you can do whatever you want."
Gahhh. I want a lip piercing!

I'm aware of the risks and everything and it's not like I'm gonna do it myself.
But every time I bring the subject up she says she doesn't want to talk about it.
Goddammit. It's my body. I should be allowed to do what I want with it.
And a piercing is not permanent like a tattoo. I could just take it out later. [/done rambling]

Anybody know how to make stupid guardians approve of piercings?

My mom was a bit iffy about my Monroe, but I convinced her it was just like any other piercing I had and it wouldn't change anything. I'd still make good grades and be a ~good kid~. After three months of repeating this she caved. You just have to be persistent.

My dad was easy, he didn't care.

I'm going to quote my parents because it made me damn happy when I asked for money for it :tehe:

"Now you've left school you can do whatever you want."

So as soon as Daddy gives me £40 I'll be getting snake bites :tehe:

How do you take out a lip bar? The actual bar part is made out of a kind of plastic (teflon, I think?), and the ball is metal.

I'm thinking of putting in a ring, but I don't know how to take out the bar.

Tell them you'll pay for it. My mom likes ear piercings so she willingly took me to get my two cartilage rings and even pay for them.

With my brother's eyebrow and tongue (same with my sister and her tongue), they said they'd pay for them. My mom didn't care since it wasn't her money.

I live with my mom and she had custody of the three of us, so my dad has no say in any of it. But he likes all piercings on all his children. Thinks they're cool. xD

Good advice, my Mum always caves in the end too. It was my cousin who orginally persuaded my mum to let me get my belly pierced because she was leaving to go live in Thailand it was meant to be a 'last minute cousin bonding' thing :)
    It worked & I was only 12.

I hate when parents let you get something done and when you take it out they won't let you get it done again!

it'll be PTFE, the same stuff that makes s fake vein. You should just be able to tug the ball off and slip the bar out. I used to have one.

You're living with your aunt? Well this is what most parents/guardians think: My house My rules and I do agree with that in a way, but if she isn't going to let up just wait it out and show her how responsible you are. I mean after all lip piercings are always going to be there

    Thank you.
Do I have to twist the ball at all?
I've tried pulling on it and it doesn't seem to want to come off. :XD
