    Poison;:
Heh, I did one set of piercing's myself, the rest, I got done by a professional, I personally, don't see much of a difference.

    I did my ears myself.
My belly button, snake bits, nose, and tongue piercings done my professionals..
My teachers keep on saying, "you're going to regret that when your older.." and I'm like, "Dude, you only live once, at least, in this body..So..Go away."
Great thing you said, its true.

How do you take out a lip bar? The actual bar part is made out of a kind of plastic (teflon, I think?), and the ball is metal.

I'm thinking of putting in a ring, but I don't know how to take out the bar.
it'll be PTFE, the same stuff that makes s fake vein. You should just be able to tug the ball off and slip the bar out. I used to have one.
    Thank you.
Do I have to twist the ball at all?
I've tried pulling on it and it doesn't seem to want to come off. :XD
give it a twist and see what happens, but there usually is no thread, they just jam on quiet tight

I've had my tragus pierced for about a year and a half now, and it's never healed properly.
There's a small bump above it, which I don't think is a keloid, but it's constantly there and changes from being big, to small, and vice versa.
I've tried sea salt soaks, tea tree oil (diluted) and anti-bacterial solution (also diluted), like the Dettol that's used to clean cuts/wounds and I've tried just leaving it to it's own devices, but nothing's ever permenantly taken the bump away.
It's not especially painful or anything, it's just slightly annoying.
I know that sometimes it's the jewellery that can irritate a piercing- I currently have a CBR in it, which I've tried to remove myself and replace with a curved barbell, but I can never get the CBR opened [I know how to open a CBR, it's just extremely difficult for me].

I'm an avid fan of body mods, I'm on bmezine.com like nothing natural and I've researched the heck out of this piercing both before I got it, and after, and I've yet to find a solution that's taken away the bump.

    Does anyone have any advice?

I have that bump at the top of my ear. You can't do anything really, the cartilage in your ear has become that way because of the piercing. The cartilage has obviously healed around the ring or stud and it can't be changed.

    ^ I don't think it's the same thing, though.
I know the sort of bump you're talking about; I've seen people with industrial piercings before, and there's been scarring around the piercing on the cartilage where there's literally bumps of skin at the exit points, but the bump on my tragus is different, it's not necessarily so solid, and its size fluctuates.

Have you been back to the person who pierced it to get their opinion? I reckon go see a doctor and get a medial opinion as well if you haven't already, and if you try tea tree oil again, try 100% undiluted, it'll be fine to use that way since your piercing isn't a new one.

Potassium Iodide is helpful for keloids too, but it may never go away completely. You might want to consider going to your doctor depending on how big it is.

they do go away, I've had four since I started getting pierced and all four have gone away, but don't dilute your tea tree oil and keep it up at least 3 times a day.

I really want to get a lip piercing, but my school won't allow it.
Not only that, but neither do my parents!
At least I can legally get one next year and they can'[t do anything about it.
    Just frustrated bout the school...

Yeah, I went back to him about 6 months or so after I got the piercing. [It's a really well run place, totally clean, so I never once thought it had anything to do with the initial piercing]. He told me just to increase the sea salt soaks and not to touch it at all, which I followed, but in the end, it didn't do a lot.
I was apprehensive to try the tea tree oil neat, just incase it irritated my skin or something, but thanks, I'll try that. =].

It shouldn't irritate your skin, you can use it on pimples/burns/cuts etc etc. But with the increased sea salt soaks, it never worked with me either, I found that it would go away and as soon as I stopped the sea salt soaks it would come right back.

Without a parent, yes. :con: There is some exceptions though, depending on what state you're in and what you're getting pierced.

Yeah, some states will do it at 17 for facial. In my state I'm pretty sure cartilage and lobe piercings can be done when you're 16, but for everything else you have to be 18.

    Ah, okay.
On the form I had to fill out to get my lobe pierced it had a section for parental signature and I was alone. I gave him the form and thought he'd turn me away until I brought my mum with me but he didn't...
    (I'm 16 by the way)
    Hm...

I wanted a tattoo now but I want to wait now.
My mum told me they go weird if you grow and it don't want that happening.

which hurts more, navel or lip?
    "/

i reallyreally want to get my lip pierced, but i'm only 15. I know a professional who will do it for me anyways, coz i know them. But i'd much rather have my parents permission.
They are against facial piercings and say i'll regret it, etc. But i've wanted it done for years. and i know i wont regret it.

    Any advice?
They threatened to kick me outta the house if i got it sdone, but thats ust a threat they said no to other piercings but they ended up giving in. i want to get it done the week we break up from school, so i can take it out when we go back without getting put in isolation.

    Any helppp? [=

I got my navel done when I was 12 and it does not hurt one little bit. I haven't had my lip done so I wouldn't know but no, navel doesn't hurt at all. If you know you won't regret it, get it done it is your face.
