I usually just jump right in and start writing as soon as I have the most basic of plot outlines. Pre-writing and planning never really work for me.

I make the plot go along in my head until I get around to writing it down. Normally, my best stories start from just impulsively writing without planning anything.

I usually come up with characters before plot.
So I begin developing the characters, and then
allow the plot and story to unfold itself.

I try to start writing immediately, or at least write down
a detaied description of my ideas so, or I lose the
    inspiration and the idea fades.

I start developing the main characters, and the plot. And as soon as I can get to paper or the computer, I jot down whatever comes to mind, be it dialogue, character descriptions, plot ideas, you name it.

I call my best friend, Serena, and discuss every major and minor detail with her. You'd be surprised. All my stories are pretty much half written by that chick.

    I don't do anything really...

If you had my mind, you would know why.

If I have an idea or a scene in my mind, I write it down afterwards so that I won't forget it. Then I think of the ending of the plot so that I will not be all clueless when I'm near at the ending. :cute:

Generally I get an idea at work and try to write a summary before I get distracted and forget it. Then I get the urge to start and fret about it

I write it down. Most of the time, I hardly ever go through with half the story ideas I get, but it's always good to save the information incase I want to go back to it, you know?

Sometimes when I'm in the middle of something, I'll bounce off new ideas here and there to story plots that I've already written down... but half the time, a story I really plan on starting [and more importantly; finishing] I'll plan out the summary, the characters, the problems and the ending and then just go from there. If I think it's a lost cause, I'll leave it alone in the very beginning.

I watch what I'm planning to write over in my head to keep it fresh, until I can get a computer. If I know that's not going to happen for a while then I'll jot down a few keywords to help me remember what's going on, in either the chapter or overall. Random scenes of a story usually come to me without any real plot, though, so I tend to just write them alone and slot them in later.

I can't actually write stories down with pen and paper. I change them so much as I go along it just turns into a mess. I can not write without notepad on my computer.

I get a lot of story ideas when I get home from school. Probably because a lot of stuff happen at school, and my mind gets all worked up and that's it.

My story concepts come from different parts or events of my life, I guess. Like Special, it's a story about autism. My brother has autism, and it's so hard to understand him, so this kind of like my way of understanding.

When I get an idea, I put it on the drafts as soon as I can. :shifty
If I go 'oh, I'll think about it more late' I'll totally forget abou it. :cheese:

I plot in my head, then have the first chapter written out hundreds of times before it's how I want to start.

I stop whatever I'm doing and try to focus on the idea, trying to see if it will work and I can write it or pull it off, becuase most of the time that doesn't happen. =[

She has a lot of good ideas and helps me with girls cause I'm horrible at writing girls. :cheese: ... ironically.

I start writing the story inside my head, creating a general idea for the character's personalities, and coming up with a summary.
And like Peter Petrelli said, I like to create a movie in my head and watch it over and over and over.

I make up the whole story in my head when I think of an idea. A week or two later I begin to write. I have a habit though of leaving out things that I planned happen to people other than the main character, simply because the main character wouldn't know it. However in my mind I know the lives of all the characters and it affects them in the story.

I start an outline. I usually end up writing some obscure sentence from the 3rd chapter or something like that in my head. :P For all my stories, I know certain parts, but I don't know what happens inbetween them.

At first I think, "UGH. Another one?! :tehe:"
And then I just let it settle down in my mind. Work on the characters. Characters usually come first.
Then I usually forget about it, and loose most of my ideas.
And finally, I start to write it a whild later, and with pleasure, the scenes come together with the ideas.

Usually I get my ideas at night. :tehe: I have to keep a pad or laptop by my side all the time.
