I write it on the back of my hand, or any other free piece of body. I used to come home with writing's all over my arms but now I've invested in a notebook Smile

I usually think about the idea more. If I get anything I really want to use I'll write it down, usually in my cell phone or on a sticky note for future preferences.
I get many ideas through out the day. Mostly late at night though.

Usually, I find that if there's a really good idea for a story, it's found in my dream jourmal. My dreams have always provided me with inspiration, and when it sounds like a fascinating idea for a story, the dream journal entries are longer and more in-depth. When I'm stumped for ideas, I refer back to that dream journal and get inspired whether it's for a current or new story. So, I guess you could say that my dream journal has become more like my idea notebook. That's where all my ideas are, my dreams.

Ironic since my biggest dream is be a NY Times bestseller.

If it's a really good idea, I usually remember it. And there's never a case that I can not start writing immediately - I'm always near my computer xD

Usually, my best ideas come when I'm currently writing another thing XD I have a very difficult time of juggling two stories at once, and usually, I write chaptered stuff, so yeah XD If it's a really, really good idea, I usually write it down and save it somewhere so that I have it for whenever I get bored with my current idea, which is extremely likely c:

I pull out my dry erase board and write down random clips of things that I know I want in the story. Then transfer them over to a piece of paper, editing as I write. Finally I put it on my computer and edit even more. Then I just figure out random things to lead up to those clips that I came up with. Character names as well. I'll spend hours deciding on names for characters after I write down the initial idea.

I grab whichever laptop is on hand and write something down in Word. Or if I just have a basic outline then I cover plot points in Notepad. I'm pretty much computer-dependent when it comes to my writing because I always lose the pieces of paper I write on.

Somehow, magically, idea's stick inside my head, so I just get out a basic outline in my notebooks or on a Word document.

^ I do the same thing.

I get a lot of my best ideas before I go to bed, so it would be kind of a hassle to have to write them down or type them on Word as soon as I get them.

I force myself to outline the entire thing, because if I don't, I'll get stuck on something and end up leaving it to rot in my desk.

Role play as my main character, normally when I'm driving. I act like I'm them, telling their life story, seeing how they talk, how they act.

I never outline. I'll write down a loose beginning, middle, and end, but I can never stick to an outline. XD

I've started carrying a little ideas notebook around with me, so I write it down in that.
But if it's an entirely new story idea, I think about it for a little while, come up with my main characters, and then just start writing.

I try to think everything out and write it down most of the time. I even come up with some scenes in my head. I try figure out the characters' personalities and reactions to other characters and events in the story. I usually think about it for days before I actually start writing it.

I develop it in my head, then make notes in my jotter/notepads at school. Hopefully, not where my teachers can see :hehe::

To say the truth, I never write down any new story ideas. Instead I daydream about it forever until I have the plot figured out. Outlining gives me writers block, I really don't know why.
me too, i tired writing it but I felt like when I did I had to stick to the way I worte it, and if I didn't it would suck and then I get wriers block and can not write.

^ I do the same thing. I always think about my story plot, I don't write it down. The things that get written down are just character sheets, and occassionally I will write down the ideas I've had in order, but that's it. Though my plans never really come to anything because I tend to start thinking they're ridiculous or bad and give up on them.

I develop it in my head, or I begin writing it (it'll either lead to a new idea or lead to the original idea) and then yeah. I can't write on paper though, so I'm a bit screwed till I get my laptop.

I usually have my iPod with me all the time so when I think of a story and I don't have my laptop, I write it in the 'notes' section on my iPod. tehe

I do a strange (and very high-tech) thing. I'll type some quick summaries, list inspiration in the form of pictures, music, films, etc., and do a bit of character development in WordPad documents. I'll then open a Microsoft Word document and start typing!
