How Do You Like Your Nails?

Bitten as far down as I can get them without bleeding

Mine are long-ish and painted purple.

Short and black. Always.

I prefer them long, but right now they're really short because I bit them.

Cut short and clean. Or with clear nail polish.

I usually have like, a really pale translucent pink, and then white nail pencil on the ends... or I'll paint 'em black.
My nails would look perfect if I didn't pick and bite the skin around them D; they're always bleeding. Damn you CSP!

Right now, they're short and red, except my left index, which is black XD

They're the coolest shade of purple right now.

I've recently taken to painting them black but leaving the little half-moons around my cuticles bare.
Like this, and once they grow out a bit, I'll leave the tips bare too. Like so.

I either use a sky blue nail polish or a dark, navy blue.

The length has to be short because I play guitar, piano, and clarinet, and the nails interfere. I used to have gorgeous long nails before I started playing...

When I stop being lazy, I like to paint them red, bronze, or this dark, dark indigo that has subtle purple shimmer (:

& bare because I can't even keep nail polish on without biting it off.

I don't necessarily like it, but it is how it is.

Mine are [i[always polished now. I started polishing them over the summer and since June I don't think they've gone a day bare. I only have a few polishes, though. They're all colors I love so I don't feel the need to spend my money on pinks, sky blue, etc. I've got wine red, shiny purple, black, and this super shiny stuff called Ice that makes it look like you have steel-tipped nails when you put it over black. And sometimes I do a black base coat and put rainbow glitter polish on top. Can you tell I like shiny things?

When I'm not playing vollyball I'll grow my nails out. Thr only problem with sports is if my nails are too long or get too sharp I end up with nasty scratches.

I tend to change my nail polish at least 3 times a week, and usually have bright obnoxious alternating colors.

Short and unpainted. Nails get so dirty, even fake ones, and I'm not allowed to paint them because of colorguard. Also, they just chip and break off when they're longer. The last time I had long-ish nails was when my cousin got married. When I was ten.

the first post makes it sound like getting my nails like this is a bad thing.

it's the way i am.
i spend a large amount of money each week to keep
my nails looking nicely like this.
i love it.
just because it's more classic, doesn't mean that it
isn't as good as a person who has short black nails.
and it doesn't mean nails with crazy cool designs
isn't awesome either.
we all have personal taste.
i prefer a classic, pristine type look to my nails,
thats just me.

so... dat's how i like my nails.

I've been trying to grow out my nails lately just because I kept them short for so long, but I'm not girly enough for long nails, I think.

Earlier today I took a chunk out of my thumb nail with a handsaw. Missed the thumb itself though, so it's all good. About a month ago I took out part of my index finger and nail with a razor, so I've got to wait till the nail grows out before I can start painting it again. Plus I keep spending ages painting them only to accidently spraypaint my hand

Random question: do you guys go for rounded or squared nails? I've been doing rounded for ages but I always need to have squared thumb nails for some reason.
