Ah, I'm going to be taking APUSH as a soph and people keep scaring me!
Even the teacher says it's as hard as it sounds, lol.
    How encouraging right? Disgust
I hope I do fine though. :cute:
    Don't worry about it.
My sister took it this year as a sophomore, and she did fine.

Umm... yep. I'm not from the US, but my school has 'accelerated' classes in middle school... I was in Accelerated Maths for year eight, nine and ten, then Extended Science in year ten, Chemistry (still advanced) in year eleven, Advanced English in year ten and English Pre Studies (still advanced) for year eleven... they're hard. The only one I even failed was year ten Accelerated Maths though, so it's not too bad... there's a big difference between the advanced classes and the normal ones though. I did my current Maths work (I dropped down a level) back in year eight, but I'm a year eleven now.

    Oh lordy, lordy, lordy be.
Somehow I have managed to get myself into three AP classes for next year (my junior year).
AP Language, AP Gov't and Politics, and AP Statistics.
Stats is the only one I'm really worried about. But my workload will be killer.

As a sophmore you can only take AP US HIstory. I take it next year.
And if you take AP tests which are in April you don't have to take the final in June. And the AP test doesn't count, and it's free now in my school.

My school got a package of AP courses and this is the first year we're having AP English, History, Biology, Cal, and other stuff I can't remember.
I'm taking AP Enlighs and History next year. I'm scared to crap beans.
They will only let you take AP courses, if you take two.
ANd they got rid of the Honors program.
It's either reguar classes, or AP. Or practical.

My friends have taken AP Chemistry and weeks before the test one of them showed up at my door because he was so freaked out.
AP Chemistry in our school is the hardest thing you will ever take.
    I swear that.

well at my school the only AP class you can take as a sophomore is AP world history. i took it and made an A in it, but it was a lot of reading the book and writing essays. i didn't take the AP exam, i would have done terrible, because i didn't learn a single thing in that class.

Uhm...I attempted to get onto my school's wiki to get the "Big Picture Questions" for our summer assignment, and it's not letting me on.
Has anyone else had this problem? And if you had, could you please help me?
    :cute: Please and thank you.

I actually just finished my AP U.S. History class, and I must say, it's not hard...if you're willing to do work. The thing is, you really have to put effort forth in these classes if you want to succeed. Not everyone is just naturally smart or whatever [I mean, for me, effort was harder than subject comprehension].

It's a lot of information to take in, but it's not too bad. What my teacher did that really helped us out was he had us do a DBQ every week, write an essay based on past tests on every test, and had us do multiple choices from the previous years on our tests and also periodically throughout the course. If your teacher doesn't do that for you, find someone who can hook you up with old tests. Simulation is very helpful.

In my high school career, I took the following:
    World History AP
English: Language and Composition AP (I believe I took this in 12th Grade, this past year)
English Literature and Composition AP (11th grade)
    Studio Art: Drawing AP

My favorite one out of those was the AP Studio Art. Really fun class, but the actual test really stressed me out-and I don't get stressed out a lot.

^:arms: Intelligence isn't just measured by school work.
I'm sure you have your area. :arms:

I've been in advanced placement since kindergarten. I was in the Plato program in elementary school, which is a program that is accelerated. We learned about the Greeks and Romans, in depth, as 3rd graders. And then in middle school I was in a baccalaureate class for two years before moving to another school. There, I was in more advanced classes.

Whereas they'll benefit me later, they're a wee bit overrated. :cheese:

I've been in advanced classes all my life. I skipped Physical Science my freshman year to take Biology - in which I found that I am a complete idiot. :XD
I'm skipping the usual sophomore Econ class next year for AP U.S History, and I'm taking Chemistry a year early and Advanced Language Arts.
I'm not even a bit worried about US History or ELA, but I am really bloody scared for Chemistry. Science is one of my worst subjects, and as far as I know Chemistry is coupled with Math so I'm screwed, I think. :lmfao

^ AP Art or AP Art History? *doesn't know if there's a difference* Either way, people kept telling me how awful AP Art History was in our school. I wouldn't have minded taking the class if the teacher wasn't horrid.

Anyway, I'm only taking one AP class next year. I feel like such a failure when most of my friends are overloading on AP classes. And it's only AP Lit too. AND I had to fight to get into AP Lit in the first place. :/

I took AP Literature, English, Biology, European History, Microeconomics, Psychology, and U.S, Government.

I loved lit, English and psych, but I seriously regret not taking regular economics (I'm terrible with anything that involves numbers).

It's definitely better to NOT overload on AP classes. My friend is going to be taking three AP classes, and she'll be taking trig/pre-calculus as well...Even she thinks she's overloading.

So, in order for success in AP classes, just keep up with the work. If you like to miss a lot of school (like me :tehe:), then try to increase your attendance rate. :cute:

    BWAHAH.

AP classes are not based on intelligence.
It's based on how well you can bullshit assignments :tehe:

I swear, all the AP kids I know (including myself)
rarely did any of our AP Language homework this year.
We just used SparkNotes (can you say bffl?) and rushed to do
    assignments inbetween other classes.

Don't follow our horrendous example, haha.
Although I did really well on the regent in January, a 97 :D
I hope I did well on the AP. Does anyone know when we get the results back?

OH! And I'm taking these AP's next year (Seniors 2010!):
    -AP Literature & Composition
    -AP Art (double period)
