When he found her, he knew there was something different about her. He wasn’t entirely sure if this was good or bad, but he approached her anyway. The first thing he noticed was the way her hair was a vibrant shade of red, it was almost unreal. Of course, who knew if the shade was even her own. This land was so different from the places he had been, he was sure anything was possible.

Growing up, nearly everyone heard the usual fairy tales of Cinderella, Snow White, Ariel, and Belle. Each of them got their happy ending, leaving the villains who tortured them behind. They all lived happily ever after, but when Once Upon a Time flipped their fairy tales on their heads, everything changed, and that is where Hooked begins.

This brilliant fan fiction tells the story of the budding romance between Peter Pan’s Captain Hook and The Little Mermaid’s Ariel. From the moment Hook lays eyes on Ariel, he realizes there is something different about her. He doesn’t know what it is, but he has to know her. He has to learn more about her. He has to find out what makes her her.

Though things start out rocky, with Hook being flirty and Ariel pushing him away, it is clear that there is chemistry between the two, and Hook is determined to make Ariel see that there is more to him than meets the eye.

Hooked is an excellent read, laced with all the romance and drama that I love. I quickly became hooked on this story, no pun intended. Tabula rasa. does more than just tell a brilliant story; she writes with elegance and style that is to die for, and the prose makes the story a breeze to read, while still being absolutely beautiful.

Anyone who grew up on stories of Neverland and the girl under the sea can appreciate the amazing story that Hooked tells, and I highly recommend it to everyone.
