Have you ever felt like you’re worthless, that life is putting you down just because you’re broken or ill or unloved by the people around you? Most people have at some point in their lives. It’s natural to feel unappreciated or unwanted at points in your life. You feel down, you feel like you aren’t worth anything. There are many people who feel like you do.

Ode to the Outcasts deal with these people. The unwanted, the unloved, the poor and the pathetic all feature in MayaAngelou0524’s beautiful poem, but she is not ridiculing them in her writing. Quite the opposite, in fact. Rather than stating all of the negative factors, MayaAngelou0524 points out that, despite feeling pathetic and unloved, the people mentioned in her poem are the ones that, in the end up, are ruling the world.

Coupling a short rhyming scheme with the use of short and snappy stanzas and simple language, Ode to the Outcasts is a beautifully written poem with an exceptional message that comes across very strongly.
