I was reading through the posts in the Homosexuality (And Everything Else) thread, and I just wanted to ask you a bit about British Universities and tuition/scholarships, if you don't mind me asking.
Heey, I just wrote a new story!
It's based on a dream I had, I'm trying to write it all before I forget it, haha.
You should go check it out.. It's called: Lie To Me.
It's a Romance story. (:
OMG the Moomins! I love the Moomins! Although I watch them in Finnish instead of Swedish, they're still amazing and adorable. I pretty much really love your theme.
I generally find women's clothing fits me a lot better -- I'm 5'4" with a 39" bust and a 30" waist -- but I do tend to favor the butcher-looking stuff, and occasionally I'll find a men's item I love so much it's worth getting it altered. And I would adore a good pair of cargo pants -- no need to carry a bag on wallet-keys-cellphone sorts of outings!
Hm... I would imagine women might buy "boyfriend jeans" from the women's department because they might be more comfortable shopping among other women with female salespeople and fitting room attendants, or they just can't be arsed to go to the men's department (or a men's store) for jeans when they've already bought most of their stuff from the women's department.
I've installed Google Earth on my laptop two weeks ago for the sole purpose of spying on Glasgow.
Yes, thank you that would be awesome. :D And you're superawesome too. I know some people who have studied/are studying abroad, but not in Scotland. And although Joan explained me the basic silly stuff, it'd be nice to be reassured yet again that adapting to university life isn't that hard. I'll pm you my email address and then she can send me an email whenever she feels like answering annoying questions -obviously, it doesn't have to be right now or even any time soon-, if that's okay with her.
Thank you for letting me know. :)
I've heard that the campus is really nice if you ignore the horrible brutalist buildings built in the 70s. I've found this awesome blog with pictures and all sorts of anecdotes and stories about the university and the campus and reading through it is making the idea of studying in a big foreign city considerably less scary.
Hi! A while ago you made a comment on one of the forum threads I started about my stomach pains and how you said IBS. I would like to let you know that you came REALLY close to the actual diagnosis. I have over-stretched and exhuasted intestines that was a result from some virus that I had MONTHS ago. My doctor mentioned IBS, but then dismissed it for some reason.
Just wanted to let you know that you have alot of intelligence, and you would make an amazing doctor one day!
Thanks! How could I have forgotten "Twelfth Night"? My girlfriend even played Viola once. *facepalm* I've read "Orlando" and very much enjoyed it -- I think I still have my copy, actually. I don't recall any queer relationships, though. I suppose you could read Orlando as genderqueer, but I don't recall her identifying as such -- there was some settling-in to an uncomplicated female identity, but it was pretty brief, IIRC. I've read PoDG, too -- poor Basil.
"Homosexual subtext" usually means something on the order of PoDG, so I'll have to check Edward II out. Ooh, lesbian erotic poetry that isn't Sappho! I'll have to check Baudelaire out, too. (The title doesn't sound terribly promising for the characters, but... lesbians!) And Carol Ann Duffy sounds delightful. She's definitely going on my to-read list.
As an attempt at returning the favor in kind: have you read the Sherlock Holmes stories "The Copper Beeches" and "A Scandal in Bohemia" and/or Oscar Wilde's "An Ideal Husband"? If so, there's a lovely fic of the same name I found some time ago, here: http://www.hwslash.net/content/ideal.html
It pairs Irene Adler and Violet Hunter (the governess from TCB), plus there's Irene in drag onstage and Violet in drag as part of an investigation. There's also background Holmes/Watson, IIRC. It's the sequel to another fic called "Absurdly Simple", but I don't think you need to have read that one to enjoy it.
Mostly because I'm a forum-Luddite who can't be bothered to find the threads I've previously posted in ever since the message board history page disappeared. I might go through and subscribe to the interesting threads sometime soon, but the categories on the boards here are so vague they confuse me to no end. I never know where to look for the drama XD
Heyyy!!! I think I might quit writing my story, My Amazing Adventure...No one's really reading it that much anymore. So if you care about this story(haha..sounds like a threat!) then tell as many people as possible about this story.
Thanks!
You should.
I go through periods where I keep changing my name every couple of hours.
