I wrote the previous comment before I read the update. Cheating definitely changes things. But was the hit on Sidney a target from Ovi - and if Vanessa pursues a relationship with him, I hope his motives are sincere and not just an attempt to "one-up" Sidney and get under his skin.

I still feel that there is unfinished business with Sid and Vanessa - but I guess time will tell.

The process a writer goes through in developing a story is very interesting and I am sure real live creeps in more often than not. And yes, the "rut" is the worst place to be.
I do hope that Sidney and Vanessa can find their way out of the rut - but by the tone, it looks like she and Ovi are destined to give it a shot!
