I'm not trying to convince you otherwise. I was simply discussing our different opinions.

This conversation is getting us no where. So I'm done with it.

I just think you're wrong. It's fine for you to have that opinion, but I just think it's simply not true.

No sane 40 year old woman is still going to be completely and totally obsessed with Twilight.

I think you're making Twilight a bigger deal that it needs to be. People who think of it the way you do are probably a part of the problem. You're making it seem way worse than it is, and that's just unncessary.

I would have liked to have read that article.
I'd be quite excited if you'd continue it, actually.
I don't want to see girls and women making the wrong decisions when choosing a partner because of SMeyer.

I totally agree. Unless it's a guy. :P I just love guys who dye their hair black. :D Lmfao.

Oh, definitely. It always does. I mean, look at the Jonas Brothers. Their ego is bigger than my ass. .___. LOL. And I hate how he always says that he still has trouble with girls. He has thousands of girls chasing him. Why can't the bastard pick one of them? If he hates the attention so much, then why'd he want to be big in Hollywood? Why didn't he stick with plays in a small theatre?? xD

-shrugs- That's what my aunt told me.

Dude, did you see the way she cut her hair? And how she dyed it black? I mean, I don't mind if people dye their hair black, but hers didn't turn out so well.

The only thing negative I notice about Robert Pattinson is that he says how insecure he is. Or that's what I read in magazines. But then you see all these pictures and stuff, and he doesn't look insecure....I mean, I guess he's told to pose a certain way alot, but I don't know.

I agree, but Twilight could've been better still. The director for that film was...terrible. My aunt watched some other stuff she's directed and she said the only thing she can really direct is documentaries. xD

Just becase it sold so many copies doesn't mean it gave anyone morals. All it did was teach girls to strive for love, which is something every girl has been doing all along. It doesn't change anything. Girls have always wanted to be loved.

The book will be legendary, that's for sure, but it won't compare to authors like Shakespeare and Chaucer.

It's too bad that your friend was hurt, but she would be that way with or without Twilight. This book isn't teaching guys to break hearts or be posessive.

Girls have been setting them up for heartbreak since forever. It's just something we have to deal with. Like I already said, they'll grow up and get over it.

Oh please please do. I beg of you. You should go around to middle and high schools, showing videos of abusive and controlling boyfriends and perhaps splice together parts from the twilight movies when edward is being a jerk.
That could get them started..

Sure, fiction does influence society. Great works of fiction.

Twilight is not one of these. Sure, some girls take it way too seriously. But then, they will grow up and grow out of it.

It's not that big of a deal. It's really not.

Oh yes. I think the books were epic. (but that's just me being a Twifreak.) But the movies sucked monkey butt!

I do no like Kristen Stewart. She blinks way too much. She stutters a lot. Bella, in the book, did not stutter a lot. Dazzled is not stuttering. And what's up with her mouth always being opened? Is she hoping for Robert Pattinson to slip his dick into there? I sure as hell hope not. xD

As for Robert Pattinson. I like him. From seeing the previews of Remember Me, it looks like he did a good job in that...But I don't think he did good as Edward Cullen. In the book she's all he cares about. He doesn't want her dead. He keeps himself from sucking her blood everyday. From seeing his face in the movie, it looks like he's waiting for the cameras to stop rolling so he can finally chew her face off. xD

But what was worse than the actors was the director. Of the first one. She did absolutely horrible! New Moon was better, but still not a good follow up to the book. In my opinion.

Meh.

I agree. and the depressing thing? My 29 year old aunt and my 38 year old aunt read Twilight and ADORE Edward.
"If you don't like Edward, there is something wrong with you. A direct quote from the older aunt.
I couldn't believe it. She's married to a really nice guy, but thinks Edward is adorable!
It's sick, and wrong, and someone needs to give them a reality check.
No problem, I'll always stand up for what I believe in.

Wow. I'm really sorry for both of you. But that type of relationship always has to be re-thinked; how can someone possibly be happy when they can't do what THEY want?
Stephenie Meyer was a bad influence to girls with that message, and even though I used to like the books, I always hated the two main characters. They pissed me off a huge amount.
I hope your roommate is able to fix up/ get out of/do something about the relationship because relationships are a two-way street, and I hate to see someone being abused and unhappy.
Best of luck.

Oh, and if you've seen the movie, and you imagine the original actors playing the parts in the parody....it. is. funny. as. hell.

I can see how that would be a difficult situation to be in, but if she's aware of his possible motivations, then the decision is hers alone.

There's nothing you can do except talk to her and give her an outlet so that she doesn't wind up like him- dependent on relationships for her happiness.

Yeah, I'm not looking for that. I'm looking for any kind of relationship...except for one that revolves around sex. :P lol.

And if you like a good parody about Twilight, I'd reccommend 'Nightlight'. It's pretty funny. Edward is Edwart Mullen and Bella is Belle Goose. Edwart is a computer nerd, and Belle thinks he's a vampire. Everything is over exaggerated. Belle thinks everyone's in love with her. She slips and falls on purpose. And there's this really funny part where Edwart screams on the top of his lungs because of germs. It gave me a good laugh.

I'm not going to lie to you, I'm not going to read that thing. Because it's a fictinonal relationship. People will take it how they well. I used to wish I had a guy who loved me as much as Edward loved Bella.

While you're on this, why don't you talk about Romeo and Juliet? They got married after speaking twice, and killed themselves for each other after a week of dating.

It's all fiction. It doesn't really matter.

Makes total sense =) My sister’s the exact same way. She loves how pretty our neighborhood looks when it’s blanketed in snow but she’s a cold-a-phobe xD I love the snow and I love the cold so I adore winter but my sister prefers summer because she can’t stand it when she’s chilly =3

Haha, very true. I tend to lose interest in a story and then wander off and start a new one... so I have about fifteen started and none of them finished xD

You could always... write a sequel =3 –prod prod-

Gah, that sounds frustrating! They should at least like... provide an evaluation or something, because how can you improve if you don’t know what you did right/wrong?
