Im ok, just school school school.

Now about the strokes. first of all have you heard angles? i think its brilliant.



and yep, that is where i went, SXSW, it was amazing. They played whatever happened first (my favorite) and new ones (under the cover of darkness, taken for a fool, gratisfaction, youre so right, and live is simple in the moonlight. and all the ones everyone loves, (reptilia, automatic stop, under control, you only live once, juicebox, modern age, new york city cops, someday, i cant win, and ended with take it or leave it). Then they played the encore and ended with Last Nite, and there were fireworks. and like the baby i am i started crying because i was standing there and fab, and jules, nikolai, nick, and albert were there playing and everyone was singing and there was Austin, Texas and the skyscrapers and the river and the fucking fireworks. i was overwhemed.

They were amazing. amazing amazing. There were so many people (30,000) and they busted down the gate to get in. Thank goodness i was already in the front when this happened. They played great. None of that crap you hear reviewers say about them being boring or whatever. All of the strokes look amazing and gorgeous in real life, and it was so exciting seeing them play the songs i listen to on a daily basis. the second best night of my life. almost tied with the night i saw green day.

So great. And i am glad that you are going to Reading! And that you are going to get to see all of those amazing bands. I wanted to see the Kills but the show that i was able to go to, i couldnt because i didnt have the wristband...

But yeah. I hope your well and that your days get better.

I just wanted to tell you that I got to see the Strokes in concert on March 17.
It was amazing. beyond that actually, but there are no words to describe what i saw.

hey! glad to hear from you. :D i hope your doing well at uni and such! i am over here, just going to school, and being bored, planning to move away from my town in the next semester or two... things have been crazy and i want to get away. oh! I played with my first professional orchestra this past week also, so that is all i have been up to. that and wanting to party.

Oh my goodness. You are one of the luckiest girls ever. I saw pictures of reading and Leeds and I wanted to cry, I can’t imagine how great it was to actually be there. I know they partially did it for money and such, but I don’t think that Pete and Carl would fake it. You know they have said they love performing with each other, so maybe some of the sparks that used to be there are still there. But still, they performed together again and that is amazing. Long live the Libertines. I cried when I saw Green Day, and they haven’t been through half the shit the libs have, I probably would have been crying oceans if I was there… when you get your pictures I would love to see!
Yeah, I am majoring in Music Education, and it’s pretty cool. College is fun and yeah it’s tiring having to drive 30 miles at 6 in the morning over there. My mom is in the car with me because I don’t have my license just yet, but still, its bleh.
I am glad you are doing fine, except the fight with your parents. I will just say this, you are your own person and you know your parents can’t change the person you were born as. Your parents have no control over who you are, and if they believe in God so much, they should know that they are not the ones that can be judging you and call you a sinner. Only God can do that. And they should know that.
My mother is Catholic, but we are really laid back Catholics. We believe in God, but I don’t go to church except once in a blue moon because my sister does not believe in it. So I and my mom don’t go either. My family all believes different ways. My grandma is all crazy catholic, and she pisses everyone off because she things she is such a good catholic that she can say whatever she wants. Which makes her a hypocrite, and that above all pisses me off. It’s just like to each is his own, with me and my immediate family. Mother has never pushed anything on me, and she knows I drink and she knows I did weed, and cigarettes and the occasional Xanax that is not prescribed to me( though I need it) and she just tells me, if I fuck my life up, I am 18 and I have to deal with it. She is hard on the “don’t get pregnant” but I am not that dumb… so just remember you are you Violette, and religion, race, creed, none of that stuff is important, you are a human, and you are here to discover the ups and downs to life.

I am doing fine. College is amazing. Everyone is mature and nice and my classes are all amazing. Well except college algebra, but its math, so you know…
I am pretty busy though. I had a job for a week but quit it because it was a nightmare. Seriously.
But school kept me busy enough so I really didn’t have time to work and do homework and wake up at 5:45 in the morning to go to school. ( I have to drive there)
But yeah things are pretty good over here.
And you? I hope uni is amazing AND how was it seeing the LIBERTINES???????? And how are you doing?

yep, college in a week. i wish summer was extended a whole other month for us,,,it would be nice, i dont have violin right now, and my first lesson is next week... and i dont know how to read my schedule, because its all piled with information...and i wanted to go to Austin, Texas again... but besides that i am excited, all but three of my classes are music classes, which is why i am so happy about going to college, i am actually studying what i want.

so what have you been doing over there in england? how are you?

anyways everything is good here in texas, still just getting read for college. i got my car, so i will be driving up to my school tomorrow. but that is about it.

I'm just so jealous of you right now. You're in Europe enjoying the summer and the beach and everything good about the world and i'm stuck in boring ole Texas. Yep I'm jealous. Lol. I'm glad you're enjoying the summer thou and that you got into uni I'm excited for you. Hope you get to see the libs that'd be stellar :). I've just been doing nothing really planning a trip back to Dallas this fall and I'm super excited!

Oh my god your dad listens to Joy Division??? That is really cool. My mom listens to Dylan, the Doors, The Runaways/Joan Jett, and a lot of 60’s and 80’s stuff so I have gotten into that ages ago, we are a big “lets listen to the radio, not watch TV” type family. But never have I had known someone who listens to Joy Division! I got into all the 90’s stuff from my brother and sister. The rest from books. My little sister listens to SHIT. lol
and true, a little bit of good looks in a band isn’t a bad thing. But I hate when people base what kind of music they like based on the singers hair. Like my little sister. Childish shit that is and I hate seeing people our age doing that!
I love Regina Spektor and Kate Nash is really cool, my friends Brittany and Sarah let me have a listen like last year or so and I love them a lot.

I am doing ok. Right now it’s 6:52 in the morning over here, and I am tired, but about to go to the doctor. I have been pretty sick, and it’s in the middle of the summer, so it sucks. So hopefully everything will be ok. I am about to get my drivers licenses and a little old car from 1992, but that doesn’t matter at least I will be driving!
