Also, the upper level of the house had caved in, but it hadn't yet caved in on the ground floor. So, that's why it was falling in on him as he was running out.

Same here for the most part, but I was glad to read your story it was refreshing to see someone not trying really hard to gratify their characters. You have let the plotline just flow with and it's a nice thing :D if that makes any sense.

Thank you for the story comment. Actually the lasy part is something that is answered through out the story. She is dead when it starts but the rest of that remains a mystery till the end. It will explain some more in the next chapter that I am working on.

As for the suspense thing, I'm considering moving the end of the second chapter to the third chapter, but I think for now I'll leave it. I kind of like it the way it is, but I do see what you and Aelf are talking about. :)

Is there an example you could use for the last part of your comment?
You said "I’m not sure, but something feels off with the dialogue �" sorta too scripted. Then the additions to the dialogue tags kinda ruin the flow for me. There’s punctuation errors that sometimes distract from the story. Still it is an interesting story."
