I appreciate your advise, although to be honest, there are a lot of characters who I've never thought of as punky - I always pictured Matt as quite a preppy guy, although maybe that didn't come across so much in the actual story. Felix, Jay and Wolfie, imo, are all kind of...normal too, I guess - definitely not punky. But like I said, maybe that hasn't come across in the writing as well as I'd hoped. :D
