Twilight: Not The Average Teenage Book

Twilight: Not The Average Teenage Book I had seen many other students at my school reading, and loving Twilight. When I found out it involved vampires though, I backed away, not really caring much for it. But finally when I decided to order it, and read the improbable romance between an average looking human, and a flawless vampire, I was mesmerized.

I have to admit that by the end of this 498 page book, I myself was madly in love with Edward Cullen. His perfection, most of all, was outstanding. To only dream of a man so cruel, but yet so loving, was almost a nightmare in itself. The way Meyer twisted the myths, making it a little more reasonable, like the way that Edward could walk in the sun, but he appeared to 'glitter', compared to the actual myth of vampires burning up in sunlight, was a great choice. The way that Edward had to protect Bella from all dangers, including himself, and even herself, distancing their affection, not to nothing, but just enough to leave her stunned. I especially loved the way he stayed with her at night, and the way he took her. surprising her, too prom, it was something unimaginably cute.

I don't exactly think that Bella acting the way she did was rational. The fact that she wasn't terrified of him being a vampire, was something that many writers wouldn't have done. But Meyer did the right thing, it was a perfect decision. I also found that their love was something rarely found, yet still believable. The fact that they couldn't stand to be apart, and the way that she fainted when they kissed, or even the way that just his presence made her feel completely safe.

The teenage love story between mortality and immortality was breathtaking. Meyer used the perfect descripitions and the perfect balance of reality, and unrealistic myths. I would gladly read this book again, and I recommend this to anyone who wants a sometimes tragic, yet beautiful love story. I give this novel 7 out of 5 stars.
