The leading boy. Because of Aaron's father's death years back, he pushed himself away from everyone around himself. This caused the loss of his friends and whatnot. Aaron's family has gotten over his father's death, and his mother even remarried, but Aaron is still torn up about it. When Auster steps into his life though, things seem to take a turn for the better, for he is absolutely taken with her.

The quiet leading female of the story. Her uniqueness captivates Aaron. Auster doesn't wear any colors, doesn't like to wear shoes, and could care less about trying to look fashionable. She hardly speaks. She's a photographer. Auster lives with only her mom, because her father left because he couldn't take how absolutely 'weird' his daughter was. And when she meets Aaron, she unknowingly makes herself happier than she could ever imagine.
