Valentina grew up in a very well respected family, and has lived in the upper class since she was born. Her father is a business man typhoon, always away on business. Her mother is a retired model, who only stopped modeling because of the birth of Valentina, but never went back to work. Valentina lives a well-off lifestyle, not used to hearing the word "no." She takes piano and ballet lessons and is one of the best students in her class. (portrayed by Mia Wasikowska)

Ben is the exact opposite of Valentina - he's lived in the country for all of his life, his parents owning and managing the grocery store. Ben works hard for what he wants, and is often told "no." He's often bull-headed and thick-skinned, and likes to make fun of Valentina for her hoity-toity personality. (portrayed by Asher Book)
