Alice was born and raised in a small suburb next to Montreal, Quebec, Canada as an only child by her single mother Sylvia. When she was eighteen, she relocated to Austin, Texas with her girlfriend at the time, Oliver. Together, they started a now reasonably popular band in the indie rock circuit by the name of Us. Alice is completely reliant on Charlotte and has made it to where she needs her to exist as a sane, sober person. It's symbiotic and co-dependent and Alice has a name for it, spelled L-O-V-E.

Charlotte is a professional woman and very much considers Austin her home, despite the fact that when she moved from her country town West, she began as a roller derby girl. She's photo editor of a prestigious feminist/queer magazine that she began as an intern for when it was only available to Austinites. As of the present, she is Alice's current girlfriend.

She was bread from two well meaning people who managed to get too far entangled into their politics and marches and revolutionary ideas. She grew up in an open home with mostly absent parents, as it was a technique practised by many to let your kids raise themselves and form their own opinions. Oliver was surrounded by instruments as a child and through this somewhat isolated upbringing, she had a lot of time to focus on her talents. She's independent and usually pretty intelligent which is why her desperate love and admiration for Alice bewilders and frightens her.

Emily is a blissfully ignorant chatty type of girl who works many odd jobs to pay for her education at The University of Texas where she takes classes in Women's and Gender studies. Despite this, she is really quite smart, which is how she landed Oliver, who is her current girlfriend.
