Shim left home because he couldn't stand being there anymore. The problem with doing that though, was that he didn't have a job, or any money, so he's now having to live on the streets. His only income at the moment is from playing his guitar and singing on the streets. At school, a lot of people think of him as a bully; which he is at times. Shim's angry the majority of the time but he doesn't want to get help from anyone.

Mark is shy around people he doesn't know very well and sometimes has to rely on others to defend himself for him. He's a smart and laid back character and he has a great relationship with his family. He's the drummer in a band that is completed with his friends Emma and Josh as well. Mark has always had a bit of a crush on Shim, even though he knows he shouldn't.

Emma is Mark's best friend and they've been close for years. She's sarcastic about things a lot of the time but she knows how to be serious when she needs to be. Emma is always quick to jump to her friends' defense and to try and cheer them up if there's something bothering them. She can seem bright and smiley some of the time, but she does have a darker and eviler side as well.

Casper is one of the more popular people at school. He's known to be the one who encouraged people to start bullying Shim, but he leaves people like Emma and Mark alone. Him and Mark are both on quite a few of the sports teams, but he tends to steal the glory from him before Mark gets the opportunity to take credit for it.

Black Beard is the nickname that Shim gave one of the homeless people who he sees around often. He doesn't know much about him, only that him and his friend, Frizz, have been on the streets a lot longer than he has and they know just what to do to survive.

Frizz knows what he has to do to get the best out of their situation for him and Black Beard. He's been watching Shim a lot, but does he have any motives behind it? Both of the men feel like they need to protect him, but at the same time they know he could be an easy target for them...

Josh is the singer and guitarist in the band. He can seem quite arrogant and controlling sometimes but it's because he's older than the rest of them and wants to make sure they all make the right decisions. Josh doesn't go to their school but they've known him for a while as he lives near by.
