Almost everyone would describe Derek as being sweet, kind, outgoing, and funny. To the girl population of Derek's high school, he's extremely gorgeous and his ability to play guitar and write songs just makes him even more gorgeous. Derek is a teen dad who had his daughter Mia when he and his girlfriend at the time were only fourteen. Derek loves his daughter to death and would do anything in the world for her, but he knows that raising a child is not easy and he really doesn't have enough time for himself, let alone date a girl.
