Dahlia was born on the plane of Innistrad in 3784 AR placing her at 821 years old at the start of the story; she was accidentally turned and then adopted into the prestigious and sociable Voldaren family at the fragile age of 17, which is accented by her ease to transform herself into various animals - a trait shared by the Voldaren bloodline. As a planeswalker before The Mending on Dominaria Dahlia was also able to master many other Spark-induced magic abilities such as flying and total mind control; afterwards she lost most of her abilities and her invulnerability, but was able to hold onto a small amount of her mind controlling magic. The woman isn't kind or compassionate, but, Dahlia is concerned about the way humans were being wiped out and knew that if humans ceased to exist, then her own race would run out of its food supply very quickly. She decided then to act in favor of the humans, doing what she could to, "Persuade," other vampires to feed only when necessary and fighting their battles for them in secret.
