The Echo Never Fades - Comments

  • Jesus Johnny Christ...

I was fucking bawling right along with The Way.
I haven't cried this hard since G died in one story I read a long time ago... Dreams Fade? I think that's it.
Hella putting a link to this on my profile.
I love your work, and I'll read some more when I get a chance!

  • Rex, I just re-read this.
And-well, you know how I feel about this story.
I even made you a banner.

I just wanted to tell you again how fuckin' amazingly incredible this is. I've never been brought to tears so quickly in a story. It takes alot for something in a story to work me up- usually. Just the thought of Gerard... and the way you wrote this.

    Wow, Rex.
Seriously, this will always be one of my favorites.
[I also think this was the... third story I read by you.]
    Love forever.

My friend Sam (MyDeadlyRomance) just got me to read it, and I'm about to cry. Honest to god I am.
And yet, Heaven Help Us just came on, I dunno, it just seemed fitting for me to mention, you know?
I honestly am about to cry, honestly.

  • Oh My God!! This took me like an hour to read because I cried so damn much. Like literally almost damaging my computer with my tears. It's VERY well written! I love it! The music really adds a little amazingness to it. You are really talented! Let's hope that this NEVER happens, because then I would probably die or cry harder than I did reading this. Thanks for writing this! I hope you continue writing!

  • My breath was stopped by the shock and horror I seemed to be inhaling instead of oxygen, and I rushed and dropped to my knees, the impact sending a tremor through my bones, as his weight landed on me, my arms seeking to catch him and finding nothing but wet blood on my fingertips and his trembling body in my grasp.

"G-Gerard..." I gasped, tears spilling over my eyes and coating my throat, my gaze shifting frightfully from his pale face and the wound, pumping blood so vigrously onto the stage.

My brother's wild eyes met mine, and he opened his mouth to speak, but instead of his voice a thin trickle of red dribbled from the corner of his lips to his cheek, choking him and making his frame buckle and collapse.

I could hear sobs escaping from my own lips, fighting past the barricade of tears, and my expression crumpled as I bent my head, burying my face in the crook of his neck.

This can't be happening. This can't be happening.

We shivered against each other as I felt his blood draining, first through his skin then my fingertips and onto the polished wood, and finally hands tugged him free from my embrace, and I watched, frozen in place, as they carried him out in a stretcher, blood still gurgling and dripping to the floor.

Darkness descended, with a final screech of white noise from the abandoned instruments, finished off with the anguished cries that filled the arena, from the mouths of the kids who came to see us to my own heart, knowing full well that this was the end.

    The echo never fades.

  • You are fucking amazing. You own the world. This is just... wow. So emotional. I think I love Gerard's POV the most. But I can't hear the song because I'm on dial-up. Any way you could send it to me? I heard the first few seconds, though. Sounds pretty.

    Keep writing, this is amazing.

  • Thank you for the best cry I've had in ages.

Beautifully written, the story was complete in every way, and you got into the guys' heads so well. I could actually hear their voices speaking the words you wrote. Amazing.

  • I finally went online and I saw all the chapters and I am blown away.
This is gonna be another crap review because I am crying so hard at 11.30 in the night. I read the whole thing twice before calming myslef to reviuew but then, right now I'm bawling my eyes out. The whole thing is too bloody perfect. I am torn apart. This just strikes me. I cannot say more.

  • The Way:
Just so you know, the first chapter is still the best. :)
You know, now that I think about it, I agree. Either the first or the fourth; those two are my favorites. They tie. Followed closely by...well, the others. I can't really choose. I'll leave that to you guys.

So I FINALLY got home and got to read the rest of this. I really can't say much, because I just don't know what to say, but it's amazing. And the songs were ALL so perfect, but the last one on Gerard's chapter was definitely pretty incredible. I just really don't know what to say. You're truly and amazing writer.
    Coincidence, I swear.
