Chapter 41

Hahaha! Jimmy is hilarious! Why wouldn’t you just assume it was someone awakening from the rampage of a night before? I assumed that straight away... then again, I haven’t been drinking. Hahaha.

Ah, the clean up after a party... worst job ever. Especially when hung-over... it’s not pretty. One of those times when you swear never to have a rager like that again, but that though goes away when you’re done. Hahaha.

Aww, I feel bad for Mark. I know they were playing a joke on Jimmy, but the poor guy got stuck in the middle =( Even with his comments, it’s still not nice to play with someone’s feelings... =(

Chapter 42

Val is irritating. She seems to be constantly screaming at him for some reason or another... she needs to just chill already. Hahaha. Granted, walking in and finding your boyfriend in bed with another girl isn’t a thrilling experience, but they were just sleeping. She needs to relax. And realize he doesn’t love her, he loves Riley and she should just bow out now to save face... = p

Aww, look at him all confused about why her being on a date with Brian bothers him. Too cute. But I understand his annoyance and hurt that he feels like they’re keeping secrets from him... you can’t blame the guy when she doesn’t even talk to him about the small stuff anymore. Poor dear.

Chapter 43

Naww! Too cute how Matt gets all defiant and gets into bed with Riley. And the crazy girl tries to pull away from him? Man, she must still be a little drunk. Or just plain crazy. The guy is hot as hell and he’s in bed with her, holding her AND he’s half naked. Jeez... *fans self*

Cool parents. They could’ve gone ape shit over her staying out... but they handled it calmly and she got off pretty easy. It’ll be a boring weekend, but worth it to know that at least they care about her wellbeing. It makes sense she’d appreciate it, coz it would be nice to know that even though her parents don’t give a shit, someone does.

Matt should be a sweet and awesome guy and volunteer to hang at home with her. Then again, I guess he figures it’s best not to do that, since she gets pissed at him so easily lately. He’s damned if he spends time with Val, but he’s damned if he spends time with Riley. Hahaha.

Ah, mum’s always know more than they let on. Especially about their own kids. She knows exactly what’s going on... even more than they do! But she knows they’ll figure it out eventually... when they start communicating!

Chapter 45

Haha, she’s so cute how she tries to act like she doesn’t care that Matt is mad and not really talking to her, but the fact that she can’t stop thinking about it makes it so damn obvious that she does. She cares. A lot. Hahaha.

Argh. Now they’re going on a date? I love Brian and all, but still no. Hahaha. I am stubborn in my want for her to be with Matt. I won’t give up!

Chapter 46

They act like they always did when they hang out now... telltale sign! It’s not meant to be. Sorry guys, nice try... but it aint gonna work. *shakes head*

Oooh, Mr. Sanders isn’t happy. He may know more about his son’s feelings than he’s letting on, too. So he wouldn’t be happy that the girl of his son’s affections is dating his best friend. No parent would like that for their kid =(

Argh. I get that Mandy wants to help, but personally I hate it when someone tries to dress me up and do my hair and make up. It makes me feel like a Barbie doll. Haha. Besides, Brian asked her out based on her natural appearance and style. That’s what he likes... so that’s what she should go with.

Chapter 47

Ooh, awkwardness with Matt returning home right as they’re about to go off on their date. He’s not going to have a good night... poor dear. At least Riley doesn’t realize and it won’t bother her.

Haha, I love that Mr. Sanders gave Brian the fatherly talk. That’s so sweet. I’d be feeling all warm and fuzzy if I was her... just that he cares enough to give Brian the talk at all. Since she’s not his daughter, it isn’t really his problem, but obviously he sees her as his own so he feels the need to protect. So cute.

Oooh... are the guys in the theatre possibly the bad guys? The ones from the convenience store? Hmm....

Argh, damn! It was just Mark. *sigh*

Are all dates supposed to be so awkward? – No, honey, they’re not. They’re supposed to be fun and get your heart racing and butterflies.

Chapter 48

Argh. Why is it that Matt is always the one that is the asshole? Like, why is that he always says the wrong thing and she runs off? I know what he said wasn’t fair and all, but I also get that the guy is beyond frustrated with her attitude. I understand she lost her sister and that means she’s going through a hell of a lot. I know that she’s all messed up and everything, but really... what is it going to take for her to snap out of it? When is she going to realize that the way she’s treating Matt just isn’t fair? She doesn’t treat any of her other friends that way... so why shouldn’t he feel like she couldn’t care less about their friendship? He has every right to feel that way. He’s the only one that keeps getting the cold shoulder.

Okay, done ranting. Moving on!

Chapter 49

“Cartoons.” – Hahaha! Too cute!

Bahahaha! Brian looked at her like he was having stomach issues? Jeez, way to make a girl feel wanted and desirable, Bri. Might want to work on that!

Ooh, strain on the friendship between Brian and Matt! This could come to blows! Although I kind of hope not... coz that would just make it a lot messier.

Is it bad that Brian and Riley just broke up and I want to shout “YAY!” at the top of my lungs? Seems a little inappropriate. I think I’ll settle for a quiet confetti shower... *throws confetti*

“Matt’s just making it seem like I’m the one pushing him away.” – Oh, if she weren’t a fictional character, I’d so have smacked her after reading that line... OPEN YOUR EYES! You are pushing him away! Gah!!

This girl needs a serious talking to. It might be the mothering instinct in me, but I want to lecture her right now. Drinking doesn’t help or solve anything, you silly girl!

Chapter 50

Haha, I can see Johnny doing that; running around in circles drunk. Cute lil monkey he is = p

Tisk tisk. Lying to the people that actually care... bad Riley. You’re digging yourself into an even deeper hole, missy!

Jeez. Even the hangovers don’t teach her a lesson. Is it going to take her drinking so much she needs her stomach pumped before she realizes how stupid she’s being? It’s completely self-destructive and dangerous. Even the guys aren’t drinking as much as her... that says something right there. Can anyone say ‘alcoholic’?

Well, telling Frank that was good... and it was bad. Good that she’s talking about it, even if she is drunk... but bad because it may have just dredged all of that pain and hurt up for Frank when he seemed to be doing okay. I guess it was something he would’ve wanted to know, regardless, though. So it was good she finally able to tell him. It’s another tiny baby step to dealing.

Okay, this one was lonnnnggggg! So I’m gonna leave it here, then read the next 8 chapters and write the comment for that tomorrow (it’s 4am... need sleep!!).

I’m catching up! Slowly, but surely!

Oh my. Didn't see that coming. You can't kill of Riley! You can't! I won't allow it! That whole last section from when the Sanders told her the news to the impact I was on the edge of my seat. Riley's POV was a little squed but when you think about she was drunk and thinking about alot of things so it got the reader into her mind, I wouldn't expect her thoughts to be clear and concise with all the grief and guilt she is dealing with, added with her being intoxicated and of course the news of the her parents selling her childhood home. I felt like I was sitting there with her.

That breakdown that Riley had broke my heart, but it was a LONG time coming. Hopefully Matt will read her journal and realize why she feels that way she does and get an inside look at her fears, nightmares and thoughts.

I loved the detail in Matt's POV in the end when she gets hit by the car, how he can't hear and then all the sounds come back really loud. love that description. oh and that 'driving miss daisy' scene with Riley and Johnny added some much needed comedic humor. Especially given what the end of the chapter held. and who do her parents think that are!?! they are are horrible. selling the house and leaving her there while they are in the bahamas. horrible, simply horrible parents. for shame.

after my mini rant, just wanted to conclude that I can't wait to find out what happens next, I am on the edge of my seat. more soon please! :D

Chapter 34

So, she’s going on a date with Brian. I’m not happy about it, but that’s just coz she belongs with Brian. And even she knows that, based on the fact she’s not even excited to be going on the date. She should be jumping around and have butterflies and all that junk, because she’s going a date with a guy she really likes. If she really likes him... which I think is not the case.

Chapter 35

Ooh, she’s all made over. I bet all the guys will appreciate her new look. Especially Matt... I say this, because Brian is already attracted to her and realizes it. But Matt, he’s still clueless so I think he’ll be a bit more blown away than anyone else = p

”The best birthday ever.” – Aww... now I feel kind of bad for him. He seems to genuinely like her, but it just doesn’t seem like it’s going to work out to me. They don’t fit right in my eyes... not like she does with Matt. Even though she’s been quite dismissive of Matt lately and pushing him away every chance she gets... he still holds on and tries. That’s why I think he’s the one for her.

Chapter 36

Wow, Mike really put his foot in it nicely. Jeez, way to show some tact, man... *rolls eyes* Sucks that’s she’s having to deal with people offering their condolences. I mean, it’s nice that they care and that they’re offering their sympathies, but it really doesn’t seem like the time or the place for it. I suppose it’s just something she’s going to have to get used to, though.

Johnny is sweet. Gotta love that guy! Well, at least I do... Hahaha.

She feels Matt’s gaze over everyone else’s. Even Brian’s, who I’m sure, was also looking at her... but she doesn’t notice that. Only Matt’s. I wonder why... ; )

Argh. I understand that she’s having a hell of a rough time lately and she’s mad at Matt because he’s with Val and she’s jealous of that (understandably so) but it’s start to irritate me the attitude she has with him. He can’t say or do anything without her being pissed at him. I don’t understand how he’s putting up with it... he has a lot more patience than I would in the situation. I’d have blown up at her long ago.

Chapter 37

Gah! She’s doing it again! Matt is just looking out for her, and obviously knows more about drinking than she does, yet she’s just being a bitch. I want to smack some sense into her already! Or at least tell Matt not to bother, let her get drunk and end up with a raging hangover. Maybe she’ll learn better that way. He should just give her what she wants and stay away from her... see how good that makes her feel.

Wise words from Jimmy. I hope she takes them into consideration and thinks about what she’s doing, before her reckless and selfish behaviour hurts everyone she cares about. I am by no means dismissing what she’s gone through and the emotional turmoil she is dealing with, but she needs to face what’s really going on in her head and stop making rash decisions to try and cover what’s really going on.

Gah! Want to smack her again. Matt is freaking saint for putting up with her shit... I hope she wakes up soon and realizes her behaviour is really immature and... well, bratty! He has been a pretty amazing friend to her and she doesn’t even seem to appreciate that or notice. She needs to stop with the attitude before he gets fed up and tells her to shove it.

Bahahaha! Bit of awkwardness with Matt undressing her... but then at the same time, it’s not that awkward. I think it’s more awkward that they’re trying so hard not to look at each other and trying to act like it’s nothing... they were more comfortable with the situation than either realizes. It’s cute =)

Chapter 38

Nightmare was chilling. I don’t blame her for not wanting to explain that to someone else; it would be difficult enough to figure out in your own head, let alone trying to tell someone else. But there’s really no hiding it now... he knows she’s having nightmares and just witnessed one. If Val hadn’t have been in his face, he wouldn’t have let her go until he got some answers. As it is, he’ll still get them, one way or another. Haha.

Nope, still not agreeing with things between her and Brian. It aint happening. Doesn’t work for me! Hahaha.

That’s a myth that having a drink when you’re hung-over helps... it’s way worse. Greasy food, however, does work. Or a swim in the ocean. Haha.

Chapter 39

Haha, liking being busted by a cop isn’t bad enough; but a cop who knows you? Man, that sucks. Super bad luck right there. Hahaha. But Stabler is funny, I think I like him. He’s a pretty good guy... for a cop = p And his words of advice and wisdom are all too true =)

Well, the news of the investigation being basically dropped certainly wasn’t nice. And it’s a shitty way to find out, seeing something on TV. I think it’s pretty horrible they’d even stop investigating... I mean, sure, other cases come in they need to focus on, but it’s basically saying that it’s okay those guys did what they did. They won’t be brought to justice because it’s just too time consuming to try and catch them. Tisk tisk.

Chapter 40

Getting more alcohol... silly girl. She is going to get herself in more trouble and possibly hurt/really sick if she thinks that drinking is going to solve her problems. It might numb the pain for a while, but it just means it hurts twice as bad when you sober up. She’ll soon realize that.

Haha, funny how they scared each other in her house. He’s so manly, thinking he could take care of himself if there was an intruder... such a typical male. Haha.

Argh, she shouldn’t have lied to him. I don’t understand why she’s okay with telling Brian about her nightmares, but she won’t tell Matt... it doesn’t make sense to me. It’s like she’s replacing her friendship with Matt with Brian. I get that she’s trying to bury her feelings for Matt, but in the process, she’s burying their friendship. Soon, there won’t be any thing resembling a friendship with him left...

Okay, so this is really long... and I’ve only gotten through seven chapters. So I’m gonna leave this one here and pick up where I left off in the next one! Mostly coz I’m not sure the site will let me post a comment any longer than this... =/
