Okay, so I'm crying :'( I knew I would be.
Stupid stupid Rafe, for being Rafe and not Mack. Maybe we could combine them? No, just wouldn't work. Well Imma go ahead and clone Lex, let you carry on here with your heartbreak and dashed hopes :(

Or maybe I just hate Mack and Rafe. I don't know anymore. Stupid Mack for being so mean to his little brother, stupid Rafe for pushing his brother and guilting Lex into not wanting to be with him. I feel as though he is trapping her. They all seem to be riding rough-shod over each others feelings, seeking their own happinesses without caring about the others but the worst of it is that they're not even happy.
It's terrible ><

Lovely update (well no- it was horrible and had me terrified and in tears, but that is only in the best and most worthy way and I would gladly give my tears and palpitations to this story again and again) and I look forward to the next.

And now, for my long overdue comment.

You are cruel, oh mighty mistress of characterisation. I love the complexity of the characters, and how their quirks and secret motives drive the story forward, but also how sometimes it just takes a turn on its own. I love that, know matter how well we as readers think we know them, there is always an element of mystery that leads to unpredictability. I love (but also hate) that Lex's happiness is so close and so tangible but yet so far away. I hate that Rafe will accept her second hand affection, that he is not strong enough to let her go, and that she is not strong enough to let him go. I don't know, maybe I read to much into that.

You conjure up such powerful, beautiful emotions, so thank you.

Poor Mack, his arm, his horse, his crush-girl. When it rains on him it pours.
Butbut what did he expect to happen from sleeping next to Lex? (Yeah, idk what I expected either, but I didn't expect her to be so baaaad!)

This is seriously an amazing story :)
I absolutely love your writing style. It flows so naturally, and I can see the scenes in my head as I'm reading them.

Your characters are amazing. You made them very real, with the drama and conflict. Each of them actually has their own personality, and troubles, which is fantastic.

And the storyline you cooked up here? Brilliant.
I love that you had her slowly come to like being on her own, despite hating the cold weather she stuck herself in.
And, while being stuck between two people has been done, you do it in a way that makes it unique and beautiful.

I LOVE THIS! I just read the first chapter today because it's almost 1am where i am and i have a 7am class tomorrow. I just want to let you know how coincidental that chapter was to my life! REALLY FRIGGIN COINCIDENTAL! Lol! Thank you for making me feel like I'm not crazy because I'm still really hurt over it.

I'm so rooting for Rafe.
Even though he doesn't seem to stand a chance I'm still rooting for him and when Mack and Lex get together then hell yeah, I'm here for him.

But it seemed like Lex was coming to terms with things a bit more and taking a bit of a handle over her life and I am so proud of her :')

Such a sad childhood - and with what she said "it's a childhood silence" ---- awww. :( At least Rafe is nice to her.

Why does everyone hate Mack? I love him! LURVE HIM. He's just as messed up as Lex. They could share their pain. <3

Okay heres what should happen Lex should be with Rafe, and I will be very mad if she isn't. Bree should fall of a cliff cause she is a b*tch (not to mention I hate the name Bree cause a girl named that toyed with my 17 and 18 year old brothers and had them in a year long fight) and Mack should get some old friend of Lex's that came to visit. Then I will be happy. Oh and I don't know if thats how you spell her name.
