    Chapter Forty-Four:
    Cécile?!?
    Image
    What the hell?
What’s going on? Why is she there? Why would she risk that journey on her own?
More importantly, what happened to Arnaud?! I genuinely liked that old man. He was good people.
Is he dead? I think he might be or at least detained and brutally beaten. I don’t know, I’m coming up with this scenarios. This shit is crazy and I truly do hope you’ll update soon otherwise I’m gonna go a little crazy!

    Chapter Forty-Three:
    WHO IS IT?!?
I swear I had a proper comment thought up, but then I got to the end and what the fuck is going on?
Who’s the girl? Ah! Immediately onto the next chapter!

    Chapter Forty-Two:

    What is troubling Daniel?
Does he know about how serious the rationing has gotten or – well, I don’t know, but I’ve got a bad feeling about this . . .
But then that bad feeling went away when the four of them started talking. Ah. I truly do adore reading the interactions between Daniel and Rufus and Aimée. Dan can be such a little shit sometimes. I mean that in a good way, of course. I love when he teases them and the way the chapter ended was absolutely perfect and I can’t wait to read the next one. I’m hoping all goes well and that there are no further problems with money and that they get their license gets renewed with no problems, but I’m a little nervous because they live in such a dangerous world.

    Chapter Forty-One:

Hmmm, I’m curious as to why Emilie couldn’t undertake the journey. Is it because Felix didn’t think a woman would be safe on the road alone or is there something else there?
    HOME.
Ahh! I thought that the caravan feeling like home was the best part of the chapter but then I got to the end and she left the fucking books! She left them in the library! She gave them up because she couldn’t have the danger because she wants to have a proper life and a home and she doesn’t want to put Rufus and the others in trouble and – yes!
You have made me a very happy lady!

    Chapter Forty:

She wants them to stay there forever!
Please excuse me while I fixate on that. I know that she wants a lot of other things, that she wants her mom to be alive and for everything to be better, but she wants to be with her like that forever and – ahh! Yes! Yes! She’s come so since this story happened and I’m just so happy for her. And Rufus! Fucking Rufus! Telling her that he could give her everything she wants, that he could live in a house with her and that he loves her! It’s too much! I’m gushing over here!

    Image

And now that I’ve gushed over them, let me shower Daniel with some love! He’s so adorable, being all excited over the fact that he thought Emilie was the visitor! I feel a little sad for him that she wasn’t, but the important thing is that she’s alright and very much alive and hopefully they’ll be reunited soon enough! And I’m excited to read about that spring fair. Now onto the next chapter!

I really like the concept of this story, it's really unique and it's not something that I've seen anywhere before. You have such a great storyline, and you've really come up with an original idea. I also really enjoy your writing style, and there aren't any errors that disrupt the flow of the story. I also really like your layout, the background isn't too distracting, but it kind of gives a little bit of context to the story. The banner picture is also really good! Good job :D

So to start with the basics, I saw no grammar or spelling errors. I love your writing style and how the story just flows! Kinda like water you know? haha but the plot is very unique and the layout just adds to that. The beginning of this is so sad but it draws the reader in immediately and I really liked that. So keep up the good writing!

*Le comment swap* Hi! So I really enjoyed this. It's a very original, creative idea and I'm glad I got it through comment swap. Your writing style is fantastic and easily understood. I love all the characters (especially Rufus!! Fangirl here!!) The layout is amazing, the picture of the library reminds me of Hogwarts and the caravans remind me of a festival I went to in September. Keep it up!! :D xx

I know that this was a very solemn chapter.
That Rufus really put himself out there by telling her about the guilt that he feels, but my God when he said that she made living with the guilt, easier. I honestly went . . .

    Image
    Image

    Rufus, you beautiful, haunted man.
    ah.
    yes.
    just YES.
You've given life to a character that is very easy to love.
Him and darling Aimée make me grin like a fool and hope that there can be a better future for them.
And even though my heart was breaking as I read about how guilty he felt for leaving his family and never returning, I couldn't help but be glad that he had left, because like Aimée said, she wouldn't be alive if he hadn't.
These two. This story. I. JUst. AHHH!
    SHEER BRILLIANCE!

    AHHHHHHHHHHH!
How could I forget to speak of my darling Aimée and beloved Rufus?
Oh what a fool I am for having forgotten! I was still pondering that sentence, but those two, oh those two. Rufus is constantly worrying about whether they're fine and all. And he's so passionate about her! About working on things if she still wants to be with him and communicating, and I love him so very much! And Aimée, oh darling Aimée, she's new to it all and is struggling, and I'm worried for them.
I am so very fucking worried for them, because I'm scared that there might come a time when Aimée might do something a bit reckless that'll get her into trouble she might not get out of or maybe it'll be Rufus who gets into trouble, but I really do hope they'll be fine, in the end, don't break my heart like Game of Thrones and Downton Abbey does. I need some happiness for my beloved fictional characters!

We’d been glorious, we’d been full of beauty, and now we were shadows of what we’d been.

    Image

I lack the right words to convey just how much I absolutely adore this sentence. I had to resort to a gif to try to somewhat capture my reaction to it. That sentence is truth. And it's a terrible truth said in a hauntingly beautiful manner. And ah, I loved it. I know it's weird to obsess over one fucking line, but I love when something just BOOM pops out at me and stays with me long after I've finished reading. And to me, this is something that I'll be able to quote off the top of my head. I love it and just, yes.

    GOOSEBUMPS

That is what you've given me.
AHHHHHHHHH WORDS DO NOT EXIST TO TELL YOU HOW MUCH I LOVED THIS CHAPTER!
And I'm not being dramatic, I honestly can't put into words how perfect and just AHHHH this chapter.
My face was quite literally inches away from my laptop screen, I was just . . .

    THIS WAS ME:
    Image

And as for the timing of the chapter, I think that it came at the right time. It felt right to me.
This honestly felt like the right time for her to have been informed of all this information, and the right time for us, because I'm honestly still processing and internalizing what I read.
The economy isn't everything! YES! YES! YES!
I honestly started clapping when I read that, because it's the fucking truth.
Our government tries to make it seem like the most important thing is getting the budget on track and lowering the deficit, and while that is important, it's also important to ensure that people have access to a good education, to healthcare, but no, they're screwing people over because they're making everyone scared about the money and this has stirred so much within me and I just wnt to applaud you, because all the best stories stir their readers, they evoke strong emotions and I know I've said this before (at least I think I have), but you seriously need to pitch this story to a publisher. It's honestly fantastic, and I'm not just saying this to say, I'm saying it because I'm enjoying it as much as The Handmaid's Tale, 1984, Brave New World and my other favorites. It's honestly fucking great and must be red by the masses!

    Chapter Thirty-Six:

I had a very well thought out comment that I was going to leave, but then I got to the end of the chapter and started fangirling over what Dan could possibly say in response to Aimée's inquiry, because for a very long time now, I've wanted answers to those same questions and now (well, not now, but in the next chapter that I'm most impatient to read) we're finally going to get answers! YESSSSSSSSSS!

Hmm, I'm very curious as to what made Cécile's behavior towards them change. She was never a truly personable young woman that put herself out there, but she's shutting them out more than before and I worry, because you've always got something up your sleeve.
    And Venice!
Ah, I want to learn more about the republic of Venice. Will they travel there? Will people from Venice somehow be tied into the story? My mind's running wild and as much as I want to dismiss it as something that won't mean anything later on, I can't help but feel that it might.
And them going outside! AH! I understand that they're stir crazy, but I really hope nothing happens to them.

. . . I was going to be cool and leave a well thought out comment at the end of the update, but I've only made it a quarter of the way there and I had to stop and freak out, because SHE LOVES HIM AND SHE CAN'T DENY IT ANYMORE! AHH excuse me while I fangirl and compose myself enough to resume reading.

    ". . . but obviously I can’t go away. Not ever.”
    Image
I had a very well thought out comment, a very, very well thought out comment, but then I got to that part and I just . . . ah, I lost it. I lost it! My emotions got the best of me. She can't go away! She won't leave him - not EVER!!
Can I take this as a declaration of love? Because I am going to take this as a declaration of love. This is an I love you. And no one will ever convince me otherwise.
Those two are just so perfect together, so meant to be, and I worry for them, because I know how you love to torture us readers, but in my mind, things will work out. In my mind, they'll never go away from each other, not ever!
