What a terrible dream. But I kind of feel like it has something to do with Kathy, like the pregnant bit. I could be wrong. The rest of the chapter is just adorable and hilarious, especially Mel and Gabe bumping heads, and then Alex braiding Mel's hair. SO PERFECT. Short comment, I'm sorry, but I can't wait for the next chapter! <3

I loved the last few chapters with the inclusion of pretty much all my favourite musicians oh my gosh! Although I know I want Gabe to just man-up and tell Mel how he feels about her, I really want to see this Alex thing go further. Do I hear love triangle?! Seriously though, brilliant chapter.

Hi! So I just found your story...and it's extremely well-written! The character are so believable!! So please update because I need more Gabe/Melanie goodness!

I totally fan-girled throughout this whole chapter! I can't help but love all of the people at the party. They're all such great people and musicians! Pete's personality reminds me of what he was like when Fall Out Boy was first getting noticed by the mainstream. He always seemed super hyper and excited for anything and everything. Haha. I can just imagine him being the craziest person Melanie has ever met. Hayley seems like her usual, crazy/friendly self. Alex started flirting with her right away, which seems in-character for him, and it made me smile. Patrick was laid-back and unimpressed with Pete, just as I would imagine him being. William seems like the type to sit off to the side and be pretty quiet. I think you created their personalities perfectly through just this single chapter. Melanie's Birthday presents were refreshingly different and original to each person who gave them to her, especially Jack's gift. I can totally imagine his shit-eating grin when she opened it. God... I've become obsessed with him lately. He's too extremely adorable to not like him. I feel bad for Melanie because everyone is assuming things about their relationship. It's basically a normal "Gabe" thing to do, so of course, they're going to expect and think that they're sleeping together. I really really really wished that Mel would have told Gabe how she felt! But I expected that she wouldn't be able to tell him. I would be extremely nervous, and I don't think I would have been able to tell him either. The last line, "Because we were still holding hands." was just classic! I shrieked because I thought it was so incredibly CUTE! Oh my gosh! I'm obsessed with this story! It's crazy! A song for Melanie?..... That's a tough one. Melanie is such a unique character, and it's hard to understand her. "Girls Freak Me Out" by The Summer Set reminds me a little bit of her, because it's talking about a girl that's so carefree and different, and then the guy is singing about how he's no good for her. "Growing Up" by Divided by Friday is also another one. It's about staying who you are, even though society is trying to tell you that you should be someone else. And I was listening to "Jasey Rae" by All Time Low when reading this, it doesn't totally fit with this story, but I just like listening to it while reading this story.

yo, I like these song things. For Melanie, she kind of reminds me of Musicbox by Regina Spektor. Which is a totally weird song for her, I know, buuut, getting into it, it just makes sense to me. I don't know if you actually want an analysis of your character in relation to this song, so I'll just stop here.

This chapter was adorable! The introductions were perfect. I love everyone. Pete is spastic and hilarious, just as I imagine he would be in real life. Melanie was so cute, and I can only imagine how overwhelmed she must have been, meeting all these people and getting birthday presents - especially since she's never had a birthday party before. I literally giggled when Gabe asked, “You gonna make me tea with your new tea set tomorrow?” I don't know why but that was priceless. I wish she would have told him the truth, that she liked him, but then I probably would have backed away too. She doesn't know really anything about boys, so how is she supposed to know if he likes her or not? I felt so bad when she thought he would leave her, but now I'm super excited for the party! I'm sure I'll love it, but I can't help but wonder why you think we won't like what happens. Oh God. They get her drunk, don't they? That's all I can think about now lol. LOVE THIS CHAPTER! Can't think of a song off the top of my head...I'm listening to Drops Of Jupiter by Train right now. Kind of fits? But not really <3

Again, Gabe is admiring Melanie from afar, as usual. Am I the only one thinking that Melanie dressed up for Gabe? Hmm? Hmm? Anyone? Okay... I was extremely surprised to learn that Melanie used to cut. I can understand how her life would sort of build up to something like that, especially when you're dealing with depression. I adored the "baby" talk in this chapter. Of course, Gabe had to say something about her naming one of her children after him... So full of himself sometimes. ;) Haha. I shrieked when Melanie spoke Spanish! That's so awesome that she taught herself all of those things. And Gabe picking on her (again) was fricken cute. :) I could just about imagine the conversation that Pete and Melanie had on Gabe's phone. Haha. I'm guessing it probably involved Pete asking her if she slept with Gabe yet or something along those lines. Haha. I just knew that Melanie was going to keep the puppy as soon as she opened the box. No matter what Gabe said, she was going to bring it with anyways. I'm super excited for next chapter!!! :D CHICAGO!!! Haha! Hmm... A particular song doesn't really come to mind when I read this story or think about it... But "A Daydream Away" by All Time Low kind of describes the relationship that Gabe and Mel have because they can't totally be together, but they're still going to be really good friends with the little amount of time they have while on the trip. And "Chasing Cars" by Snow Patrol makes me think of the situation they're in, because they're just traveling across the country together, not really worrying about other people or anyone who might tell them that they're crazy. They're just sort of living in their own little world for the time being. That's just what I think. Anyways... Thanks for the update!!!!!!!!!! Loved it!!!

This story is awesome! The relationship between Gabe and Melanie has such an interesting dynamic to it. As for a song that goes with this, I'd have to say Out Loud by Dispatch. The chorus especially reminds me of them. Or where I want them to be, hahaha. I think they are getting there though.

I love the bonding time. Who doesn't love bonding over scars? Pretty sure everyone's done it. But now I'm said for Melanie because she used to self-harm, but yet...I'm not surprised, oddly enough. I love that she found a puppy though! PUPPIES ARE THE BEST! <3

I really, really enjoyed this chapter (when have I never enjoyed a chapter of this story? I mean, really) mostly because I had been wondering what he had been thinking during the last chapter during Mel's breakdown. Now I know and just like last time, I want to cry. This chapter was so super sweet. I felt bad for him when he called himself an asshole, but I'm glad he realizes that he wants to be different on account of Melanie. I think I'm getting a crush on him now. Thanks a lot =P Also. My favorite line of this chapter: Gabe whispering "We're okay," to her. I don't know why, can't explain it, but I pretty much melted a little on the inside at that part. Because they're both so broken (maybe not the best word but it's the only one I can think of at the moment) so him saying that they're okay is just...perfect. Absolutely perfect <3

Gabe's falling deep in love

I really enjoy Gabe's thoughts. He kind of acts like the typical "tough guy" but the way he thinks just shows that he has a soft side. This was a super sweet chapter. The way that Gabe thinks about Mel and the little things he does for her just makes me smile. I wish that he would just do the things he wishes he could do with Melanie! There has been so many times in this story that he could've just grabbed her and kissed her, but he didn't! He always finds a way to talk himself out of it. It's hard for me to think about them not seeing each other again after New York. If not actually "together" then at least friends. I mean, how can you spend that much time with someone and tell them all of this stuff about yourself and then never speak to them again? It just seems impossible to me, but then again, Gabe is famous and he gets busy, he could totally forget about Melanie after a few weeks, but I really doubt that. I'm going to be so super sad if they get to New York and they're not together. I don't think I'd be able to bare them leaving each other. The one thing that I really enjoyed in this chapter was that Gabe actually realized that he was an asshole. And then he realized that he didn't want to be that person again. Gabe just thinks that Melanie is so super innocent, and it bothers me! She totally wants to ravish him, but he just can't believe that. The sexual tension between these two is driving me crazy! Man... When are they going to Chicago? Soon? I hope so, because I really want to see what Melanie acts like when she meets Pete. Haha. :) Anyways, thanks sooooooooo much for the update! It was absolutely amazing as always. Oh, and for the record, Gabe is not even close to being an Edward/Mary Sue character. He definitely has his faults and he's definitely not the most desirable man in the world. You did a perfect job with his character, and Melanie as well.
